I just saw that Jared got a somewhat nasty email. Funny thing is that I was going to post a quick thank you later on tonight to all the people who wrote in to the contest. There were some very touching stories and it was very hard to pick one fan out of the thousands. Thanks for taking the time and thanks for turning to us for your entertainment and hopefully for some inspiration in troubling times. You guys have definitely brightened up my life! Let’s keep doin this together for a long time!!!

I feel sorry for the girl who wrote what she did.

I can’t believe someone would be so nasty after all you guys have given back.
I myself lost my job after 6 years due to the economy and I wanna win to see you guys too, but i know in time and when it’s meant to be it will. Some people don’t see things this way.

We all know you didn’t need to come back at all. You could have done a Greatest Hits album with a few new songs and call it quits. You could have done the first leg of last years tour and hung up your hats. You could have thrown in the towl after the second leg of the 2008 tour. Hey Jordan, Don’t worry about it…I sure it was very difficult to chose one person…I’ll admit it that I was hurt but life goes on…I was happy to know that you had the chance to hear me and know just some of the things I am going through, like my husband interested in men, my sister going through chemo and me working full time,taking online classes and taking care of kids…(Why my husband interested in men, with someone like me)…I’m not ugly(some people say I look like Catherine Zeta Jones)..come on now…ok off the subject a little:)heehee..So anyways, back to what I was saying…the first time I seen you guys, especially you..I thought damn I wish I was older:) NKOTB was my first concert and now that you guys came out back together again, OMG, that was one of the most happiest times of my life,(besides giving birth to 2 girls), but I felt like I was 12 years old again…You guys are wonderful, very talented, very good looking, and very thoughtful guys in this world….I just want you to know that you guys will always be in my heart always..The funny thing too is that my girls like you guys and your music…So end note, you guys always brighten up my day, when I have bad days at work or at home..I turn to your songs and turns my frown upside down:)…I can’t wait to see you guys in DENVER..counting down the days and I will be watching you guys on Friday…Love you and the guys very much and take care and God bless…

Jordan, it’s funny because I was just thinking as I read this girls letter earlier, that someone had some negative things to say earlier in the year when you could not make it to the m&g in Paris. That you could have at least come on and apologized for not making it. Then before you knew it, you had posted the Paris or Bust blog…sort of letting us know why you could not make that M&G. But ANYWAYS…I was thinking today, that knowing YOU, and how you are, you probably would post something, wether it be a blog, a video, or twitter, it’s in YOU, to say something…AND then you wrote this. I feel like we owe YOU big time for everything you’ve done over the last year (and then some). What amazes me is that you guys are always telling us Thank You as well. I love that each of us are so appreciative of each other. And to those who are “less grateful”, hopefully we can realize they are few and far between. I heard a quote yesterday “Life is too short to surround yourself by people who don’t like you” SO TRUE!! Even if it’s minor drama, why let it into our lives?? So I appreciate that you can look past that one letter (and past any of the other negativity that has floated into this site) and recognize that 99.99% of your Fans are FOREVER GRATEFUL. Ok, first of all, Jordan Knight just signed a blog ALL MY LOVE, Jordan. I can now die happy. No really, this man has been with me through so much…he was there during the TOUGHEST time in my life…HE knows the entire story as I blubbered all over him in a Meet & Greet and told him…he listened to every word I said, through the tears and the snot…HE LISTENED TO ME…he made me feel like I was the ONLY person in the room. At that moment, I loved him more than I ever imagined I could because he really cared about me and that, in and of itself, meant the WORLD to me.
I appreciate EVERYTHING these five guys have given us and given UP for us. They are the moon and stars as far Im concerned…I am proud and humbled to call myself a BLOCKHEAD.

I think if anyone should be saying thank you, it should be us…the fans. These are some very trying times for lots of people, and this reunion has been nothing but a bright spot in my life. Thanks to the 5 of you guys coming back on the scene I have met some wonderful ladies who I can truly call my friends. I’m sorry that one ‘fan’ made you feel as if you had to bend over backwards for them because of the contest, which by the way, you did NOT even have to offer. I agree with everyone else that it was a great thing to do to hold that contest. Thank you for always going above and beyond for us. You don’t have to spend so much time holding contests, meeting fans after the shows, posting blogs, and all the other wonderful things you guys do; but you do it anyway. So thank you for that. I really did want to win of course, especially since I am too broke to afford a 5* ticket and will probably never get the chance to meet you, but I will always love you and the NKOTB no matter what. As I said in my e-mail entry-you have been a huge part in bringing joy into a life that started out void of any happiness. Ya know, there is always a few bad apples that tend to ruin the bunch…but then again, it’s all in the way we respond to the positive or the negative. We can let it eat at us or we can choose to ignore it. I try to ignore & not let things get to me. I know who I am, I know what I am, & I don’t need to listen to the cheap talk. I hope you’ll do the same. I know that I never ever would’ve had the opportunities I have now back in 1988-1994. Granted I am now a professional, a mom, a wife, & it’s not my mom spending her $$ carting me & all my NK’s lovin’ friends around Detroit….now I just do what makes my heart happy. Too much time is wasted on the sadness. I’m so happy that Jordan Knight makes me smile! As does his cohorts Donnie, Jon, Joey, & Danny! You’ve all been a HUGE part of my life (21yrs now)…shit, I’m going to be 35! You’ve all been in my life longer than my husband & my 3 beautiful children! *Granted the relationships are way different* but you know what I mean, right? ForeverAFaithfulNKOTBFan! Even though I never felt it necessary to hear back from you regarding this contest, I am humbled that YOU would felt it necessary to explain yourself to anyone. I hope that those people who, for whatever reason, are not able to see you as a regular, awesome guy, realize some day how their words and actions do have repercussions, and ultimately hurt others. I am NOT bashing anyone, I am NOT criticizing any one person, merely the behavior. I think as a person, anyone is entitled to that.
(sigh)
What makes me saddest of all, is to see that there are people who think they are owed something. I can be frustrated because I dont have a job/money…I can wish a lot of things…but ultimately, no one owes me anything because my life might not the best right now. Don’t you think? I think oftentimes people who happen to be “celebrities” be it as singers, actors and such, are dehumanized and because they are seen as “an entertainment” some people think they can own them and wish they would do whatever they want them to do. I find that wrong on so many levels, no one can OWN a person. And if people looked at each other with respect and would, for one instant, put themselves in each others’ shoes, this world would be rid of a lot of insensitivity and hurtfulness and hatred.
Sorry if for whatever reason my words offend anyone, but I really wanted Jordan to know what I felt of this situation.
It shouldn’t be about money, but rather trying to make a connection with another human being(s) whom so many thousands, or even million of us, claim to love. It HONESTLY should be that simple.

Don’t let one bad apple spoil the bunch!! You know that there are many critics out there and that is what they are critics!!! All 5 of you make a difference in our lives, during these troubling times, all of you give us joy and inspire us to do more, give more of ourselves! I don’t think that you guys will never fully know how you have touched every single fan that you have met and will meet in the future!
I think that I can say that we fans are truly grateful and even though some of us may go out of the norm at times, we truly feel connected to you guys since we have grown up with you! You guys are doing something you truly love and it shows everytime you get on that stage and we are the ones who are benefiting from that!
You are taking time out of your personal lives to be with us and that is a wonderful and generous gift that all of you given as well. Not everyone can win the contests, however I think that we have already gotten plenty of gifts from you guys~ talent and love!

I have just read Jared’s blog and then found your comment. I feel so bad that you feel you have to justify yourself and your actions. Jared was right! You not only chose a winner and paid for them to go to NY on your dime, but you also chose a runner up. You didn’t have to do any of this. I too entered your contest, and as much as I would have loved to see you five I understand that just like playing the lottery its all a game of chance. Please don’t let this ONE disgruntled fan upset you in any way and ruin it for the thousands of us that are TRUE blockheads. I thank, not only you, but also Jon; Joey; Donnie and Danny for all you men have done this last year to put the most amazing smile on my face. It’s obvious I didn’t get picked as your winner, but that’s ok. I still LOVE you and the rest of the guys (especially Jonathan). I will always be a fan. Can’t wait to catch the May 8th performance on the Today show. Granted it won’t be until after the fact. I will have to see it on Youtube or the Today show website either that night or the next day whenever they post it. There is always someone out there that thinks the world owes them everything. Most of us are realistic in the fact that out of thousands of people, it is a long shot to actually win a contest. As badly as all of us would like it, you don’t always get what you want. That shouldn’t be taken personal by anyone. It’s almost an embarrassment to be associated with a “fan” like that. We love you guys unconditionally and totally appreciate everything you do for US. All the little things you aren’t necessarily required to do, but do just because, we love you for that!
You have brought so much joy to my life, I smile extra smiles daily. I look to listening to your music, seeing what new things I’m going to read about, what “tweets” I’m going see, and to maybe find out what “tink!” eventually is. You have brightened our lives in so many ways, and to know that we bring you as much happiness makes it even more special! We love you guys, no doubt. OMG JK!!! I love you! I hope you and the rest of the guys kept doing what you’re doing. I truly believe that you do well and beyond what is expected for any band. Hey, Jordan…I didn’t see the nasty note nor do I need to. You are so sweet “All My Love” signoff on your note. You guys are the most generous with their fans of anyone I can think of. I was disappointed, sure, not to be the lucky one to go to NYC and even a little moreso not to be the lucky runner up to talk to your bro (who has always been my fave followed by you;). We all would love to get a tweet back from you guys just to know you got our messages and to feel special just for that one moment. But you are human and we know that you guys do care about all of your fans, so we’re grateful you even offered such a generous gift and appreciate the difficulty of choosing one person–with all the people going through tough times right now, I’d guess something she wrote must have really touched you, so you guys will be making her day and her year a little brighter this Friday, and if I get up that early, I’ll be watching from home, only hoping to one day to be lucky enough to be one of the thousands of fans who have gotten to meet you guys over the years. You guys have a lot of demands on your time, can’t imagine what it’s like to be in your shoes in that respect. But you guys do get much love in your positions and you give it back as you can. Just hope one day I’ll be the lucky one one of you decides to call/tweet/whatever so I can have my special NKOTB moment, too. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times by now. THANK YOU!
The return of the New Kids was not on my radar screen a year ago…in fact I didn’t know until a week prior to the Mall of America appearance. It took a little while to “dust off” that part of my life again, but once I saw y’all hit the stage in the rotunda, I was 10 years old all over again.
I knew I had to see you guys that October in St. Paul. It would be my first NKOTB concert ever! Couldn’t believe that after all these years you’d be playin a show just down the street from where I now live! What are the odds? The show that night was phenomenal! My friend and I got seats on the main floor, 16th level CENTER! Could not have been better. I’m in a wheelchair, and had my crutches with me so I could stand and see around people in front of us. Then part way through the show, your bodyguard came over, I thought to tell me to get out of the aisle, but no, “get back in your chair so I can take you up front so you can see” is what he said. OMFG no WAY! Then, at the end of the show, Donnie walked over and waved at me. My inner child was in heaven! Thank god I was sitting at that point or they’d have had to go lookin for me in the basement! I seriously could not talk about that moment for weeks without crying. I knew this wasn’t over yet.
I set my sights on 5* next time y’all came close to Minnesota, and in January, I’d learn that Des Moines would be the night. Looking back on it I feel so bad that I wasn’t able to verbally convey how much that moment meant to me, (having been the grade schooler who had to miss out on so much as a concert back in the day, meeting all of you was more than I could fathom) but I hope my decorated wheelchair (New Kids on the Block…That’s how I roll…) did the talkin for me.) But it’s definitely dead last on the list of things I thought might happen in my lifetime.
You guys are all so amazing! And I’m impressed with all of you, not just because you’re the New Kids, but you’re all the kind of men I wish there were more of in this world. You’re all devoted to your families, and you keep it real. So many in the biz don’t get that concept. It’s sad.
Don’t let one nasty email getcha down, cuz for every one of those, there are thousands more from the rest of us who truly love you guys. Looking back on all of this, I can’t believe how much your return has changed my life. Dreams have been fulfilled 100 fold, I have friends in my life that I never had six months ago, and I’ve been able to realize that truly anything in this world is possible.

Jordan, it was so amazing of you to put the contest together in the first place. And this message you just left was so very sweet and heartfelt, it fills me up. I think most of us know that entering the contest was a shot in the dark so I don’t think anyone has a right to be truly let down, I mean c’mon! It’s like being mad you didn’t win the lottery! I continue to be blown away by how accessible you and the guys are to all of us and how humble and grateful you all are to be back doing what you obviously love.

Hey Jordan,
I want to thank you and the rest of the guys for getting back together last year and putting on this incredible reunion tour for all of us fans and releasing your album “The Block” last September.
You made younger kids, high school/ college teenagers, and adults very happy especially the adults because they were younger when they loved you until they grown up… they still do.
I was wondering… did you recieved my email? Well, it’s impossible by reading thousands messages and it’s very hard to remember who’s that person. I would love to see the lucky winner for this contest.
You know it will be great to have the members of New Kids On The Block as my dates to my Senior prom on the second day of this month which it’s already over. My boyfriend couldn’t come because he couldn’t get a day-off from work. But, it was fun, I went with friends though.
This month; I’m so excited… May 2nd was prom, May 11th is the school’s yearbooks, May 14th is Danny’s birthday, May 15th is the Senior’s last day, May 17th is my favorite NKOTB; Jordan’s birthday, and May 21st is my graduation.
What Joey said on my cell phone that this summer is going to be the best. I really want to see you guys again in Denver at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater. If I can’t get the tickets, I’ll be staying over night to wait for you guys so I can get autographs and pictures with you guys. I had a dream I did all of your autographs except I didn’t get you, Jordan. But, I hope it works this summer.
This Friday, I will ask my parents to excuse me for my 2 classes so I can watch you since I miss every performances that you guys have done but YouTube doesn’t have good quality though. We’ll see.

WHO would write a nasty email? You guys did something nice and there can only be one winner. It is weird all this internet stuff does go to your head, like we know you more or something or we are entitled. It’s psychological but, I’m sure most of us are old enough or mature enought to keep it in check. Some people just can’t handle it. I’ll admit, I’d perfer you picked an older fan from what you said her mom was a fan too, so she cant be too old. But, that’s who I’d want picked because I an older fan. I’m sure you made the right choice. I was hoping it would be me, like everyone else. I could at least have a real excuse to go to the Today show instead of my meeting for school. I have to say I was really bummed when the name you tweeted wasn’t mine. But I had to take a deep breath and regroup. I was fortunate to be able to go to a concert FINALLY…after 19 years.
I will be thankful for what I have, and celebrate with others. As Donnie said today…I will do what I need to do to do what I need to do. How simplistic and profound!
I know there are some out there that take their NKOTB to extremes. To some extent, we all do! Like Joey said…you never forget your first crush. And you were a first for so many of us. And to have you guys back after all this time really means a lot to us. We didnt just get a reunion tour. We got full blown FULL SERVICE! Three tours, a cruise ticket and trip giveaways and daily tweets? Who does more for their fans???
So to be honest, I was upset (not send a nasty email to Jared upset), but my heart sunk low for a bit. But I’m looking at the big picture and making the most of what God’s given me. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the contest. It was a lot easier than making that Twisted video!!! (which btw was fun! Just way out of the comfort zone for me!!)

I am just amazed at all the time and attention that all of you give the fans and still have time for yourself and your family. It seems like I never have enough time in the day to do even the tiniest fraction of what you do.

You are the one who deserves a “Thank You” Jordan. The 5 of you are making yourselves readily available to meet as many of your fans as you can. I think it was incredibly thoughtful of you to have this contest and fly 2 people on your dime to NYC. Its just a shame there are fans out there that feel they are righted to your acknowledgment of their entry upon the 10,000 you received. It must have been extremely difficult to pick just one fan’s story. You have definitely made my life brighter and happier. Everytime I hear a song or the mention of your names, it puts a smile on my face. I hope this one’s fans email doesn’t discourage you guys from the rest of us. Jordan, We should be saying thank you all. You guys have proven over & over that you reunited for us. If this fan doesn’t realize the effort you guys have put in her selfish loss. Leaving careers, family, friends to travel the globe. Doing meet & greets in back to back cities & on little sleep, twittering till all hours of the morning & still finding time to support charities & asking us to join you on your dime is more than anyone could ask for.

You didn’t have to answer to no one or respond to no one and you did. You were humble enough to talk to us about this when you didn’t have to, and you were worry for one single complain to answer it when you didn’t have too.
You writing about this stupid issue show us you dedication and interest in your fans or followers to the point to approach them in moments of confusion, as a father would do with his kids, as a friend would do to his friend. And that deserves my respect and admiration.
Thanks again for been so Human and accessible to us.
But I do think you shouldn’t take some little girls complains so serious. Save your self for things that are worth it.

Jordan, THANK YOU for reuniting. I was made fun of all through high school and college because I listened to the greatest hits cd constantly. Unfortunately I did not enter the contest because I saw the posting too late but fortunately for me I live in NY. I was at the Nassau Colessium concert in Sept with my mom and my best friend from grammar school with her mom. (they took us in 1990 so we took them in 2008) Friday May 8th is my birthday and I am so excited to go to see you guys perform on the plaza. I know that you asked contestants what song they would like to see performed, it would make my day if you performed Popsicle!!!!! See you all Friday. NKOTB has brightened up so many lives, mine being one of them!! NKOTB is a big part of my life! I went to the show in Victoria & even before that show, I was trying to find a way to get to the next one! lol! I can’t get enough! I’m getting my passport just to see you guys in Auburn! I always said I’d get my passport but I never cared enough to until I purchased a 4 Star ticket for the show in Auburn! I can’t say it enough, I’m so happy that you guys came back to us!!! HI JK,
THANK YOU for always being around in my life when I need the presence and music of NKOTB the most. My cousin from UK and I met you @ an ILAA event in Atlantic City, Nov. 7— the day after my father’s bone marrow transplant. I remember being fortunate enough to have a few extra moments to chat with you only to end up babbling on and telling you about my father. EVEN though you were very sympathetic, afterwards I felt bad for perhaps putting you in an awkward position by mentioning his battle with cancer at that time. I couldn’t help it though bc NKOTB and my father were the only 2 joyful yet bittersweet things on my mind at the time.
On April 15, 2009 my father left this world and I have been a recluse since. About a week later, my brother put on his favorite NKOTB song “One Song” in an attempt to make me smile. It worked. It brought back more bittersweet memories of how, my dad thought I was going to become a teen pregnancy statistic all b/c of my following a “boy band.” Last October, hours before your MSG show in NYC, during a visit in the hospital I told him I was going to your concert. Surprisngly, he remembered, smiled and said when he gets well, he would enjoy watching you guys perform as adults. He had come a long away since those overprotective dad days. He never did get this chance to see you perform.
Anyhow,I will try to conjure up the energy to come see you this summer on your tour

I just would like to know what the “unforeseen production delays” are if you are able to add another show! I don’t understand why the dates couldn’t have just been changed if there are “unforeseen production delays”. I have been a HUGE NKOTB fan ever since I was in the second grade, and I purchased the 5 Star Package back in October when you came to Charlotte. I also went to Cancun in Spring 1999 for Spring Break specifically just because I knew Jordan and Joey were hosting the Grind. (I actually was on the Grind, and met you both) When I found out that you were coming back to Charlotte, NC for the summer, I jumped for joy, and purchased another 5 Star Package! I feel hurt and disappointed that this was the decision that has been made. It feels like a big lie about the “unforeseen production delays” if you can add another show in California. I am sure that I speak for not only myself, but for the thousands of other fans that were let down too!!!!

Having you guys come back has been the best. You’ve made me feel like I’m 16 again. Hopefully this reunion can go on for years to come…thanks for the memories of the past, and the new ones we’re developing.

Jordan!! My favorite New Kid.
So good to have you guys back. I just watched all your new videos for the first time this morning (I’ve been in grad school and am behind the NKOTB curve…ha!). But I was the girl 15 years ago who sent you letters every two weeks, went to 3 concerts, came to your hotel, plastered all four bedroom walls with posters… one of THOSE fans. I can’t even tell my friends about it these days!
Now I’m 33 and just sitting down to watch your videos for the first time and I just have to say that this is SWEET. It’s cool to see the 5 of you grown up, in your 30’s (& 40’s?), and still able to connect with your fans. This is such a TRIP down memory lane, and it’s like I’m being romanced all over again by an old flame… even though I live with a boyfriend of almost 3 years. CRAZY!! Have a great time, thank you again, glad to see you’re doing it for yourselves, and many wishes for continued success.

New Kids,
Can’t tell you how disappointed I was this morning to learn your tour date in Birmingham had been cancelled! I took my daughter to see you 3 times when she was a teen and I had bought a ticket package for $350 to take her to see you again- with good seats!! Now it’s too late to get good seats in Atlanta. We really wanted to see you again!

I just wanted to say thanks for everything you guys do for us, between here and twitter it is lovely to hear what ye are up to, and feel like part of your lives, as you are a part of ours. WOW this is such a novelty not keeping it to 140 characters!! So what is TINK???? I have been trying to work it out and I just can’t! Also, for the next contest can it be someone from Ireland or Europe?? Thanks so much! I was twittering Jon (AGAIN) the other day and thinking it would be lovely if he replied to me, then when I saw this I realised just how massive the New Kids army is, and I remembered that it is enough that you read all the emails, blogs and twitters, without expecting you to reply as well. You mustn’t have had any sleep at all reading 10,000 entries, that really is dedication to the cause. Thank you so much for all you give us and for all you do for us. Keep the New Kids journey going until ye guys are 100 and we will be there with ye. We have for 20 years so we will for as long as possible. I for one take heart in the fact that we mean as much to the 5 of you as you mean to us. But also it is lovely to hear from the other fans, all of them equally love you, they have put their heart and soul into the messages they leave here. It is just awe-inspiring, so this is not just a message for Jordan, or the other 4 guys but for everyone of the New Kids army, for all of us who love and support the guys with everything we have, and every penny we don’t!!

How much is too much to hear how amazing you are? I’m so sorry there are fans out there with bad attitudes. So they didn’t get picked, it was a long shot…I had to try too, I had try and win myself. It didn’t happen, but I’m still glad that I tried. I met you once in 1999, in Va. Beach, you were really nice. I’m in TX now and I can’t wait to see you guys in July again. But till then, I just wanted to let you know, I think you are amazing…all five of you are and what you guys do brings so much happiness to many lives.
