…….I am on my way home to vote. You’ve seen me wearing my Obama shirt so you know who I’m voting for! Who you chose is totally up to you……I just want to say I hope you go to the polls tomorrow and do your part in choosing who will be this countrys next leader. Wednesday night will be a very special night for me. We will be on stage in one of the cities where democracy began and hopefully celebrating President Obama’s move to the White House.

November 3rd, 2008 at 8:43 am
Jon,
I’m so glad we’re all grown up and can agree to disagree on certain things, such as politics. You broke my mother’s heart in DC with your Obama shirt.
I completely blew my meet & greet in ATL. I drove 9 hours by myself to see you and then I didn’t utter a word, but it was still perfect. Thanks for keeping in contact with us.

This is a very monumental election this year no matter who wins. It is very important that we all take time to get to the polls on Tuesday. I for one have been behind Obama from the beginning and would love to take a trip to downtown Chicago for the celebration, however a licensing class for work is early the next day so I’ll be watching, waiting, and hopefully celebrating from home.

Hello Jon! I see you doing your citizen duty! Strangely enough; in France too, Obama is VERY popular, and I don’t remember having witnessed such an interrest into the American Elections ever! People talk about it a lot, but we are not american: we won’t vote!
Apart from that I desperately look for “the block” here in France but it seems it’s not available yet…
take care

Hi Jonathan!
I live in Washington state, and my county votes by mail, so I turned my ballot in about two weeks ago. Can’t say who I voted for because I work in journalism, but I’m glad to see you telling people to get out there to the polls. I was a political kid, and registering to vote was the milestone I looked forward to more than anything else. I love voting. Everyone else should get out there, too. Even if you think you don’t care about politics, it affects you in one way or another. Education, health care, the economy … we’re all affected by those things and should all take advantage of our right (responsibility) to vote.
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:54 am
No matter how you vote, I’m so excited that people are FIRED UP about this election! It’s great to see candidates (finally!) that people are truly excited about. Let’s get out there and show the world we LOVE our right to vote! Let’s get this country back to being what we’re truly capable of! Tomorrow is my anniversary, so what better way to celebrate a NEW BEGINNING!!! Anybody gonna brave the crowds in Grant Park, Chicago tomorrow for Obama’s (Victory!) Party? Let’s make some NOOOOOISE!!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:54 am
Jonathan, I hope your wishes come true and the outcome of the election is what you hoped it would be. I’m Canadian so I’ll watch from the sidelines. Enjoy your couple of days off! Mwah!

I’m an Aussie, but right now I’m wishing I were American, just so I could do my part for the greater good.
Obama FTW!
*crosses all her fingers and toes and prays America gets it right this time*
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:07 am
I was quite upset - I missed the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot to vote. I’m a dual citizen, born in Ohio, raised in Ontario.. I’m not *sure* I ‘qualify’ to vote in the US elections anyway, but I had certainly wanted to try, this year of all years…
I did, however, vote in the Canadian elections for the first time this year. Being largely raised in a religion that didn’t … agree with voting, it took me some time out of it to sort of wrap my head around the whole thing, but I did and I voted here, at least!
I am also trying to do my part in spreading the word and encouraging all my American friends to get out and vote tomorrow! As a fellow Canadian above indicated, who is elected as the President of the United States affects all of us! I am rooting for Obama all the way and I hope that we can all celebrate his victory tomorrow, together!
Block party for Barack!

I’m a conservative myself but am happy you are doing your duty as an American and voting tomorrow.
We may not agree but that doesn’t change how important voting is. I will be praying for a good result.
Get some much needed rest and enjoy the break!

So Jonathan, as I understand you, you would be willing to share your wealth however the government choses fit. In Cuba they came to your door with people and asked, “How many bedrooms do you have?” and if you are one person in a three bedroom home you were forced to let people of their choice Move in with you. When will people wake up. When you go to the bank to close your savings account ? What would you do if the government seized everything you owned and told you to move in with your neighbor? In Russia you can own property with a lake on it, go to the store and buy fishing rods, but you are not allowed to fish, on your own property ! Sorry Jon, I can’t believe you can’t see.
Martin Luther King was a Republican. It’s like a spider web.. Love you. Hey who does the cooking you or your Mom?
Are you willing to turn your entire pay check over to the government? After all they know how to spend it better than we do right? Again sorry we disagree. Who is your Mom voting for? Spend some time with some refugees.
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:38 am

As an emigrant living in the US and married to a US citizen I can see both sides. Outside the US people want to still believe in the US as their hero and friend I think with Obama the US is going to achieve this!
I’m crossing my fingers!!! Peace for all!!

Hi handsome! Yup I voted for Obama too!! Have a relaxing couple of days off!! MUAHH!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:43 am
Jon, that is so awesome that you get to be in such a historic place at such a historic time. I voted last week, and it was an emotional thing for me, I feel like there is so much riding on this vote, always, but especially this time around and I hope we can turn Florida Blue this year! I’m scared about what’s going to happen tomorrow but I’m trying to keep the faith that it will turn out the way it should. We were rocking some “NKOTB Fans for Obama” tees on Saturday at your show, another fan designed them and put them on Cafe Press. Amazing.
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:43 am
Hey Jon
Thanks for spreading the word about voting. No matter who you vote for, you need to get out there and do it.
XOXO

Thanks Jon for the reminder!!! If your that lazy not to get out and speak up for what you want then “SHUT UP”!! People act like it’s a job to vote, “ITS A PRIVLEDGE” so as much time as it takes them people that dont vote to complain they could’ve voted already!! Thats alright though I know I’m doing what I am supposed to I cant worry bout everybody else and I get tired of hearing it! Either way history is going to be made and I am glad I will be apart of that with my kids also! Before I go here is a little story of just how important this is, my 5yr old son Malaki came to me sat. and said “Mommy who you voting for” (remember he is only 5YEARS Old) and I told him what I thought and then I asked him if you could vote who would you vote for he said in his own little words “I like ROCK O’BOM’O” he didnt say his name right thats why I didnt spell it right he said “ROCK O’bom’O”!!! After I laughed to myself for a minute I asked him if he knew the other guys name that was (in 5 yr old words) going up against him and he said exactly right “John McCain”, I said you are one smart little dude!! It made me feel good that he’s so young and already knows about voting and how important it is,they had a little sample at school on how to vote and thats who he voted for!! He watched T.V.for days about both canidates and he made his choice even though he didnt really know why (maybe he did he already surprised me so who knows),but if he can do it then everyone else can do it also!! This is so important PLEASE GO VOTE!!!!!Speak for the little ones like my son thats not old enough to vote yet, think of them as well as yourselves!!!!
Thanks Jon XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
P.S. Tell the guys HELLO and Stay safe see you in St.Louis 3rd row and SINGLE!!!!!!!!

Hi Jon!
Thanks for the post & encouraging everyone to get out and vote (for Obama). So many of us (you and I included) hope for change in a positive direction and I know I am praying that others out there can be open-minded enough to take that risk with us. I have an MBA and firmly believe that Obama is the best choice for the nation, regardless of what kind of propaganda is put out there about him. Also, just to put it out there for CA voters - vote NO on Prop 8! End discrimination and confirm that all men and women really are equal and have equal rights under the law!
Jon, thanks so much for putting your voice out there, especially by posting and letting us all get to know you as a person even more. You are amazing - saw you in Vegas (I was the one with the giant JONATHAN sign & you waived to me from the B stage!) I will be in LA as well, 13th row center, and I can’t wait…I just hope one day to be able to meet you in person after all these years, give you a hug and thank you for just being you and taking the risk to come back…I guess after 20 years, I can wait for the next go-round
Travel safe!
Yours,
Cindy

As of this moment right now, I really don’t know who I’m voting for. I’m seriously leaning towards writing in Mickey Mouse.
With that said, atleast you know who to vote for. I will be voting.. but yeah. anyhow.
See you guys Saturday in CT!
Yes. This crazy weird girl, is traveling from Indiana to CT just to see you guys one more time. Insane? yes. Thank you. LOL

This morning, I was in class at university and one of my teacher asked us if anyone would vote for Mc Cain if we were American. I looked around me and saw that nobody put its hand up. I just smiled, thinking “yeah, maybe they (I mean American people) will do what we didn’t last year. Maybe they will elect someone who can represent all the citizens of its country, someone who can change many things.” We need that!
Hugs and Love,

Hi Jon,
the whole world is looking to the US tomorrow. If I could vote I would….and there would only be ONE choice: OBAMA!!! Just imagine the “old guy” would and die the presidency would fall in the “capable” hand of Sarah Palin….OMG!!! I’ll be glued to the telly tomorrow and hope OBAMA WINS!!! Obama puts big hopes in all of us, even here in Germany.
I see you in Düsseldorf on the 5. Feb. CAN’T WAIT!!!

I’ll be in Philly on Wednesday with you, and I hope it’s a celebration. I stood in line for 4 hours to vote for Obama absentee in person - it’s the first time I actually felt good about myself when I pushed that button.
Thank you for being an advocate for all of us to get out there and take an active role in our democracy, no matter who we choose. OBAMA ‘08

I agree we all need to get out and vote. You can’t complain if your candidate of choice doesn’t win…if you don’t vote! I am voting for John McCain. I am not an Obama supporter, but I can agree to disagree with you regarding this issue. That’s the beauty of democracy! May the best man win….whoever that may be.

Up until recently I was undecided. After much research and thought I have decided that my vote will go to Obama. This is a big deal considering I live in the south and my family is extremely conservative. I am the outcast of the family. LOL
I want to reiterate what Jonathan said, No matter who you vote for excercie your right and vote. Thank goodness for Democracy.

Hi Jon, I was at the Tampa,FL concert last night and just want to say that you guys are wonderful…I thank God that you guys have given us this reunion tour and brought joy back into our lives…that same exciting feeling we felt so many years ago. My 1st NKOTB concert was when I was 12 in NYC at Madison Square Garden and last night was my 2nd..I drove down from Deltona,FL. I’m amazed that you’re all in good shape and look as young as you did back then..God Bless you guys!…I love u all so much!! I voted early (last Saturday) and even though the line was long (two hour wait)it was worth it. You feel a sense of relief afterwards…go out and vote everyone!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 10:45 am
This was my first time voting. I was luck enough that my state (FL) had early voting. I too am hoping that Wednesday will be a celebration for Senator Obama abd Biden. Great to see you in that shirt.
Tampa-What an amazing show. I went with my NK Best Friend from back in the day and my sister you has you as her favorite. Thank you guys so much for coming back. For those hours you performed, I had no thoughts of work, mortgage, bills nothing. I WAS FREE. I got only 4 hours of sleep by the time we got back to Orlando but you all were well worth it. I hope you guys do anohter tour when you get back from Europe. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

November 3rd, 2008 at 11:07 am
Hello Jooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn,
I am hoping that your voting will inspire many to vote who might have other wise stayed at home or thought it is a bit long to try and have a say.
I try to vote where I try to remember that somewhere in history someone went to great lengths to enable me to have a say in this way. But politics does my head in a lot as it is such a matter of experience, opinion and major agreement. So sometimes where I am confused I at least try to make a vote if it means reminding those that firmly stand against my existence or the existence of my having rights or beliefs that I am aware they do not care.
It’s so great that you are voting, and I think the tour and your communications shows live the grown man activities that you guys do too!
Thanks for sharing and happy voting. I hope it’s an outcome that is positive for all…

Thanks for spreading the word about getting out there to vote. I think this is a year of many miracles (big and small). My husband will be voting tonight, and I will drop them off tomorrow. This is amazing because he doesn’t normally vote. He wants to have he say in next president. I am with you about haing a change in leadership by Wednesday. Hey Jonathan,
Just wanted to drop a note from MN and let you all know I’m planning to vote. I just hope the best person for the job wins! Donnie, sorry I’m not voting 4 you. We’ve waited for so long to get you all back and everything that I just couldn’t imagine it all going away again so soon. And imagine the security! You think it’s bad now, no more FaceTime, no more hugs and kisses. Even tho I didn’t get mine this time round I just couldn’t bring myself to support it stopping! Sorry if that’s selfish! WE LOVE ALL OF YOU and want you around for as long as possible! Hope you are all well! Hear from you again soon!
Take care ’til next time!

Dear Jon,
I live in The Netherlands and cannot vote for your president im sad to say . But if I could it would be Obama too. We need a change in the world and i think that this election is very important for the whole world and not only the USA. Very good of you to encourage people to vote. I do the same here whenever there are elections because I think you cant say anything about the people who are running your country unless you had a part in making the decision who will run it for us.
Take care
Mascha

I think it’s awesome that you guys are promoting the vote! Obama 2008!
The Charlotte, NC show was the most amazing concert I’ve ever been to. My parents wouldn’t allow me to go to any of the concerts when I was younger (I was like 5 at the time), but it was well-worth the wait! I can’t wait til you guys come back to NC…I will definitely be there!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:55 am
I’m in the minority here (being a Conservative), but I am going to the polls tomorrow, for sure!
I believe it is not a matter of choice when it comes to voting: I believe it is our duty!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:59 am
Woohoo Obama all the way baby!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Voting is pointless. If no one at all voted, there would still be a new president, right?
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Jon!
As usual, thanks for checking in…
I will be stopping at the polls on my way to work tomorrow… Go Obama!
Let’s hope we can all celebrate the win!

I am so glad to hear that you are voting for Obama. He is the one who can lead our country back where it needs to be. I saw your show in Detroit and I was the first one to meet you at the m&g before the show. I just wanted to thank you for being so sincere and easy to talk too. It was a dream come true meeting you. I am counting down the days until the summer, when Robo promised us you would come back. I never anticipated feeling like a giddy school girl after meeting you but I can’t help myself.

choose wisely, as you might regret the change you get &
eventually lose true democracy- Your right to vote!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Jon great to hear from you. It meant
a lot to finally meet you and the other
guys in Florida. As a permanent resident
I am not allowed to vote yet… With
the next presidential elections I will
be if all goes well (can’t wait).
Enjoy your stay at home and have fun
Wednesday night.

Jon,
I agree with you Jon, I hope we as American people make the right decision in voting for this great country we live in. GOD BLESS AMERICA and may this election and the new years to come be the beginning of great change.
Love, peace, and blessings

November 3rd, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Jon, thank you for encouraging people to get out and vote. I agree with Mascha’s comment–this election is so important not just for those of us living in the US, but for the entire world. We’ve essentially had a dictatorship for the last 8 years, with a leader who does not represent most of us and clearly does not care what we think. I applaud you Jon, for standing up for change. What about the other J’s and D’s? Are you making sure they vote too??
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:17 pm
YES YES YES! Get out there and V.O.T.E!!
I can’t wait to vote tomorrow!
But please, don’t vote if you’re not well informed on both sides of every issue!! Uninformed voters are BAD voters!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:18 pm
I can honestly say that I was glad NOT to see your Obama shirt in Charlotte - it would have ruined all my pics of my favorite “Kid!”
After serving 7 years in the Marine Corps, I just don’t believe that someone who has never served our country as a member of its military forces should be allowed to take charge as Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces… among other issues.
Thanks for supporting the vote, and I wish I could be in Philly to celebrate either way, ’cause you guys totally rocked NC!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:22 pm
hi Jon,
I hope Obama gets in,here in Montreal my family as always been liberal(our version of your demoncrats) and we have French in us and many other nationalities, but ofcourse we voted and our man didn’t get in,it was a conservative(our version of your republican)that got in,i hope for you he does get in,
Wishing everyone lots of luck for election night,

November 3rd, 2008 at 12:34 pm
JON,

Is there anything that I can do? I have emailed our local radio stations, I have called our radio station and suggested they put together a bus trip to a show. Is there a petion that I can sign? A contest that I can win?
I do realize that you will prob never read this, but oh well… First off, I have SO MUCH enjoyed your Q&A and your blogs. Let me tell you, if I had access to that back in high school, I would have been ecstatic. They are a long way from just reading articles in “Big Bop” magazine!
Second, I am really so glad for you that you “appear” to be doing better with your attacks this time around. I hope for you that you are enjoying the ride! (so to speak)
Thanks also for using this public forum to get everyone out to vote. Although, we may not be on QUITE the same page politically speaking.
In high school I was able to attend 2 of ya’lls concerts. I SO want to go to one this time, but You aren’t coming to Cincinnati!
Well, now that I have taken up half the message board…I guess I will close by saying that no matter how cliche’ this may sound: You REALLY always have been my favorite. oh and btw…as sexy as you look in those sunglasses, PLEASE don’t hide those beautiful eyes! Love Ya, Cassie
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Jonathan - I am still on a high from Thursday night in Charlotte, NC! You men were AMAZING! What I always imagined it would have been like! Thanks for encouraging everyone to VOTE. Unlike Joey, I like my Presidents Old and my Vice Presidents young, but I will support whomever - as I am proud to be an American! Thanks again for all the love you showed in Charlotte. I waited around FOREVER hoping to see you all up close, but I missed you all! I hope the tour is continuing as strong as it was in Charlotte! Please come back - keep The BLOCK alive! I do have to say - “I love me some Grown Man”!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:42 pm

November 3rd, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Awesome Jon! I will be getting myself up at 5:30 am to vote before I head off to work!! I’m so grateful that you all are doing your best to get out the vote, regardless of who people choose! I, of course, agree with your selection! Obabma s the person we need to change the future of the country for the better! We love you all! Thanks for always being so nice and gracious to all of us!!! To me, it’s NKOTB first, then Obama! LOL!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Jon, I am glad to hear you get to go home and vote.
That is the first thing I am doing tomorrow. I had the
best time at the show in Charlotte, NC. You guys made
my day. NKOTB was my very first concert. I still love
you just as much. Enjoy your time home. Love, Conna

Hi Jon,
I’m ready to vote for tomorrow before I go back to school (college) in Detroit. Go Obama/Biden ‘08 all the way!!!
~Sasha~
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:56 pm
I did my duty the first day the polls opened early! I voted blue and my husband voted red. Needless to say we don’t talk about two things in our house…..1)politics and 2)NKOTB. Too many arguments and too much jealousy! Although he was a lucky man after the Atlanta concert. Good luck with the lines tomorrow and I hope to be celebrating with an Obama win come Wednesday morning.
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Hey Jonathan!
Very humbling what is said by fans from other countries saying that this election affects the whole world. Great to hear different points of view.
I haven’t decided yet. Don’t know who to trust. Been waiting for a deciding factor, but haven’t found one yet. Been wondering what yours is.? I want to be totally behind one candidate before I vote.
No matter who wins though, I think there will be much negative chaos on Wednesday.
Have you always been this into politics, or as with so many, is it the want of a change?
Hope to see you all in St. Louis!
sally
LONG LIVE THE BLOCK!!!
DONNIE FOR PRESIDENT!;)
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Hey Jon. I have to say…every time you post a blog, the cuter you get. I love hearing from you and keep up the great work with those amazing shows you guys keep putting on. I hope I get to see you all again soon, and I too hope to celebrate Obama’s new home in Washington!
Love ya!
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Jonathan was at the Ft Lauderdale concert on Saturday, it was wonderful to see you guys back together. I already voted despite the long lines. Our country is worth the wait. Happy Voting.
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:06 pm
While I may not be voting for the same person as you, I always appreciate those spreading the word on how important it is to vote.

November 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Wednesday night WILL be a very special night. I, along with so many others, will be celebrating Obama’s move into the White House! See you guys in St. Louis in a week!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Hey Jon…Casted my vote 3 weeks ago through the mail. Hopefully obama will win and that by his winning he would be able to help the country get back their reputation with all the other countries. Disney’s Aladdin the musical is all in for Obama that they actually have a song and dance for him when they were voting for the candidate for the democrats. If they do the song and dance again I’ll make sure to tape it and show it to you once I do finally meet you. Take care of yourself and do feel better. Get some rest and can’t wait for the answers to your Qand A. Hopefully, it will happen soon. gale
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Neither candidates impress me. It’s like picking the lesser of two evils. I hate that. But I’ll be out there voting tomorrow, especially since there are some super important questions on the Massachusetts ballot that demand my attention and vote!
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Hey Jon–good for you going home to vote. I will be voting myself tomorrow for Obama.
I just wanted to tell you how much my friends and I just loved your show in Ft. Lauderdale the other night. We had 15 of us go to your show. We all were in love with you boys, well I guess now men, all over again. You all 5 did an amazing job and we can’t wait to see you again. You especially have always had a special place in my heart, well since I was 10 or so. Thank you again, and I hope you come back to S. Florida again very soon.
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
WELL DONNIE TOLD ME HE IS VOTING FOR MCCAIN! AND HE TOOK MY MCCAIN PIN LAST NIGHT SO DONNIE, I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YA. MCCAIN SUPPORTERS NEED TO BE HEARD. I’LL PRAY FOR VICTORY TOMORROW THOUGH IT SEEMS LIKE A LONG SHOT AT THIS POINT..BETTER GET OUT THERE AND VOTE DONNIE….but Jon you are a sweetheart, and I love you man, so nothing against you..but I am shocked and proud that Donnie is a McCain supporter..didn’t know there were any from MA…
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Us Canadians had our election last month and yes, it is very important to vote! Get out there and Vote USA!!! Whoohoo! I’m Jen B and I approve this message…
whoops…I think I’ve been watching too much American Political Campaigns! LOL.
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Hi, this will be a very interesting election, at “Reader’s Digest” I read few days ago, that almost every country in the world would vote for Obama, but at the USA it’s not sure yet who will win. I would definitely vote for Obama. But I heard today, he would deport his aunt from the USA because she lives there illegal- I hope for his aunt this was just a joke… :-)- time for a change!
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Hey Jon.
Although Im under age and I don’t live in your country, Im still rootin for Obama. The Election is pretty much all over the news here and we’ll get live coverage of it tomorrow (wednesday) so I can’t wait to see who will win the election.

Jon,
Thanks for encouraging people to vote. I LOVED the fact you wore an Obama shirt at the San Antonio concert. I was wearing my Women for Obama pin that night, I wish I would have remembered to point it out to you during the M+G but I was so befuddled by meeting you guys that I forgot! We have the only Obama sign in our entire neighborhood. I feel very blue in this red state. I early voted last week and took my seven year old daughter with me. It was a nice experience for both of us.
Anyway, hugs and kisses to you. I hope we are celebrating an Obama victory wednesday morning.
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
I will definitely be voting tomorrow. For McCain/Palin……..sorry Jon
lol
November 3rd, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Hi Jon,
this is a very exciting time. I can’t wait for Wednesday morning to find out who won the election (there are at least 6 hrs time difference ;)) And the coverage is better than for german elections. And thats saying alot!! I know who I would vote for if I could: OBAMA all the way.
Can’t wait to see you all in Düsseldorf on the 5. Feb. Enjoy the ride.

November 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 pm
It looks like there are quite a few new kids fans who love Obama. I’m not one of them….but I like what Joe said in Charlotte…”just go vote. we’ll all still get along. we’ll all still love each other!” Obama did not get my vote…but I do believe that his win will more than likely be celebrated on tuesday night.
No matter who the president is…you guys better be back next summer!!!
Love you all!!!!!!!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Jonathan - I am the mother of a 26 yr old whom approx. 18 yrs ago I took to her 1st concert - of course it was NKOTB. She was 8 and so excited, I can still see that little girl. Last night i returned with her to the Tampa Forum to see her again expressing the same excitment, this time as the beautiful young woman (soon to be bride) she has become. I surprised her with tickets so that she and I could spend time together in this busy world in which we live. She called me mommy and held my hand (imagine her surprise when all of you showed up so close to us during the piano sequence, what perfect memories) the night filled my heart. I want to Thank all of you for that. I am not comfortable around large groups of people but watching you last night I felt I needed to commend you and your extraordinary courage and quest to make the world we live in a better, gentler place for all of us and warrants you another Thank you .. just wanted to let you know that there are some of us that have noticed your kindness.
November 3rd, 2008 at 2:20 pm
I believe everyone needs to take part in voting. My belief is that if you don’t vote you can’t complain:). The best gift my Mom gave me on my 18th birthday was a voters registration form. Glad you guys get to vote in person.

I will vote tomorrow, just don’t know for who yet
Love ya

November 3rd, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Jonathan,
I am overflowing with so much love for you right now! I can’t wait to vote tomorrow morning. No wind, no rain will stop me baby!
For those who don’t know whom to vote for, go to http://abcnews.go.com/politics/MatchoMatic/fullpage?id=5542139. It’s an interactive game with quotes from both candidates on major issues. It doesn’t tell who made the quote; you pick the quote that best matches your thoughts. Then the program tallies your picks and lets you know whose quotes you picked the most.
Love and peace for all!

November 3rd, 2008 at 3:07 pm
I voted already and felt so much pride when I filled in the bubble next to Obama and Biden’s name. Thank you for putting the message out there Jon!
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:09 pm
I will be starting my day by going to cast my vote and ending my day at Grant Park celebrating sweet victory! Go Obama!!
BTW, I hope the other guys are voting as well. I’ve always thought that voting is such an honor and was so excited when I turned 18 in 1992 - it was an election year and I couldn’t WAIT to vote!
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:13 pm
Being a Canadian, its so nice to see the patriotic way Americans are
I was born in the US, during the blizzard of ‘77 in Buffalo NY, and carry a dual citizenship
I really wish Canadians could be as proud to vote as Americans are. Our last election was a mess, with only 58% of the population voting
If I was American, Obama would be my choice, without a doubt.
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:20 pm
It could be so easy for you to just kick back and chill…but good for you to “Barack” the Vote - amen to that! I hope you get some QT with your fam, friends, & pup. Continue to use your influence for positive things like voting and volunteering! You’re creating the change you want to see… Gandhi would be proud. Here are a few other quotes below from Mother Theresa for you to keep the energy going when it seems like you’re feeling run-down (nearly 40 myself…and keep mine up for myself & my students, but know it’s hard at times regardless your age)! Couldn’t resist staying in my college prof/counseling shoes (yes, you have fans in all places!)…
Keep smiling…yours is terrific & does wonders for many (made me feel like a teeny-bopper in Cleveland!)

November 3rd, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Thanks Jonathan for reminding us all to do our part! I will be out there voting for Obama myself tomorrow!!! It will actually be the first time I have ever voted. I’m so excited.
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Oh boy, you opened a big can a worms with this one Jon!
You know what the best part about this country is? Each and every one of us has a chance to decide who they want in office, what they believe in and so on… we have that freedom! What a great country we live in!
Obama all the way baby!
Thanks for reminding us! ALSO… by law your work has to pay you for leaving to vote! Up to two hours! What’s your excuse now?
PS. I’d really like to go off the handle about some of these posts… but I’ll keep it civil!
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:39 pm
I am with you in my mind, heart & soul.
If I would be an american , I’d vote for Obama, too.
I can’t see these conservative guys any longer , having or may having force in their hands, which they can’t handle.
I have seen a documentary before the last election ( 911 by Michael Moore ) - and couldn’t finally believe, how Bush could be voted for president again.Sounded like a stupid joke to me.
Just minutes ago I’ve seen a documentary again, madeby a german TV programm … and it really has shown again, what goes wrong in the USA & how many huge mistakes Bush has made again the last years.Or couldn’t change so many things….in 8 !!!!!! years.
I really hope,BARACK OBAMA will be your next president.
That ‘ d be great for all americans & the rest of the world.
I am with you.For sure.
love,Kathrin aka *Bell*

Jon -
It’s nice to know that you guys take voting seriously. I wanted to say that my middle school did the kids vote last week and I was happy and surprised to see how many kids were really interested in the election and had strong beliefs they could back up.
On that note I am happy to say it reassured me that my vote is important too!
Have a good couple of days off.

Hi,
I’m from Spain, so I cannot vote for the man who’s going to manage the world, who’s going to take us to another war and who is going to bring us to another financial crisis. But, yes, let’s hope this man is Obama. Otherwise, we’ll have to leave this planet.
Jon, will you come with me??
Besos,
Irene.
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Hi Jonathan! Great to hear from you again-its your “Southern Gal” once more, wishing you the best on your couple of days off- and regardless of how the election turns out, have a safe rest of the tour, and stay the smart, funny, witty, wonderful guy you are. Oh, and yes-I saw your Obama shirt in Houston! I thought it was very original looking and kind of cool. I will not get political here though. This is not a political forum really-its about you guys anad us the fans. Thanks for your opinion and thoughts, but I am keeping my thoughts to myself here, and I think some of the others who posted should have done the same. Let’s be nice people. Keep the blogs kind. The Block is all about love and friendship-remember that. Jon-love you! That goes for Jordan, Joe, Donnie and Danny too. It doesn’t matter who you vote for guys-you’re awesome!

Vote People! Saw you guys in Atl and Charlotte last week. Loved Joe’s comment about liking his vp’s old and his presidents young. Looking forward to NC finally becoming a blue state! Thanks for the great shows. We felt like teenagers again!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Well….in the words of a true to form independent that is on the fence, please oh pretty please, leave the politics where they belong…NOT in the music. I am agreeing with jonsvlntngrl108. Love chatting about the music etc but I prefer to not discuss politics….or religion.
Love you guys!
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I am also very glad that each of you get to vote, I sent in my ballot awhile ago. I totally believe that you can’t complain if you didn’t vote. = ) I know you are voting for Obama, but I am still true to McCain. I won’t hold it against you.;) (Hopefully you won’t hold that against me) I still think your awesome and the other guys are awesome too. Enjoy your break and I’ll be screaming from section 26 at Mohegan Sun on Sat.
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I will be going to vote (as will my husband) tomorrow, but we appear to be in the minority here. Glad you are able to make it home to vote yourself.
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Dude, come on! You totally care who we vote for! You know you do, lol. Especially at a time like this I really respect and appreciate you saying this. Everyone needs to vote! Even if you live in Mass and everyone says your vote does not count!! On that note, I would also like to say Vote YES on2 people!! Save money and give it where we need it!
Ok sorry…
and Go Obama!!
I ♥ u guys!
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:13 pm
OBAMA ‘08! I didn’t OFFICIALLY vote( I know I should have, but I sort of forgot to register(oops!), but obviously that’s who I’m going for. Like Dogwalker73 said if the “other guy” wins, I’m moving to Canada lol. Hope you have a great week! Tell Jordan Hi and I love him for me lol. Same goes for the rest of you too!

Hey,
Jon good on you for getting your message out there and reminding people how important it is to vote.
In Australia as soon as you turn 18 you have to register to vote…no if’s or buts, you have to register. As far as we’re concerned, if we’re old enough to drink, drive and go out then we’re old enough to vote.
To put it simply, if you don’t vote, then don’t complain because if you have the energy to complain then you should have put that energy into a vote.
Again, good on you Jon for putting that message out there.

I am very happy that you are excited about voting and encouraging people to get out and vote. However, as far as your choice, well we can not be perfect all of the time. You once said that it would be a very boring world if everyone was perfect. I am going to do my part in voting as well and will be celebrating when President McCain takes office.
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Actually you know what? I’d rather vote for DONNIE WAHLBERG, JONATHAN KNIGHT, JORDAN KNIGHT, JOEY MCINTYRE, AND DANNY WOOD LOL. Ok so I’m probably dreaming too much, but I’ll settle for Obama
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Jon -
Just wanted to say that I happy you guys get the time to go home and vote. I voted and of course voted for Obama. I am excited to see who wins, I sure hope its him!

As always Jon, thanks for keepin’ it real and keepin’ us in check. It’s good to hear you guys are getting your votes out there, as every vote counts. I know who I’m voting for and will be at the polls tomorrow. Enjoy your days of rest and relaxation. Can’t wait for ROUND 2 of this wild ride that some thought would never happen.
And tell Donnie that some of us have faith in FACE TIME
It is definitely real and no joke.

Hi, Jon . In Texas we get to vote early. So I already voted for Obama. So hpefully during the summer tour you’ll be able to wear a t-shirt that says President Obama on it. By the way love your Obama t-shirt. Can I have it when the tours over? Never hurts to ask. Enjoy the rest of the tour. Robin

Jonathan you vote for who you want to vote for it is your choice to make. However, I do not believe this country is or will ever be ready for the changes that Obama wants to make. I love you and have a great two days off.
Your friend,
Jennifer S.

Let’s hope for change! Yes we can! Obama Biden 2008!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:12 pm
I am so glad you are taking the time to vote! I hope all the guys are. I will be voting Obama tomorrow! I am planning for a long night watching the returns and hanging out in the New Kids network!!!!!!!!!!
Love ya!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:18 pm
VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! Celebrities should use their status to get people out there to vote! Do it, even if it is just ’cause Jonathan wants you to, or get a free coffee at Starbucks or whatever. You should ultimately do it for you and for your kids so they will vote and see how important it is. I am in CANADA and we just had an election. (Boo Harper…) As a teacher I feel we need to model this stuff. I can’t preach about the importance of it all if I don’t do it myself, don’t want to be a hypocrite. Canada and the US are so close so your results affect us greatly. GO OBAMA!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:27 pm
With great power comes great responsibility. Not that you’re Spider-Man (though you could be and we’d never know) but that you are kind of a Super Hero. What I mean to say… I appreciate the fact that you’re using your Rock Star powers to influence others.
Cheers to a future that is once again bright with President Obama.
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:27 pm
I just wanted to say I am officially doing my count down till you guys come to Canada. I have been such a huge fan since my younger years. I am so happy that I feel like my dreams are coming true. Growing up I didn’t have it great. I was a huge NKOTB fan, but could never afford all the cool things my friends all got… like pillows, back pack, dolls, posters, ECT. The only thing that I held dear to my heart was all the tape cassette’s that came out. Well one year you guys were doing a tour and were stopping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada… I was so excited and wanted to go bad. My friend happens to buy tickets and the won extra tickets from the radio. So she was selling a set of tickets… my mom couldn’t afford to buy them… I was so upset that I cried all night… knowing that you guys were in the same city as me and I didn’t even get the chance to see you live!! The very next day I woke up to get ready for school… went to the kitchen and found my very own NKOTB t-shirt… I screamed my head off and hugged my own t-shirt.
Year and years pass and find out that you guys are coming back!! Well I made a promise to myself that I finally was going to make it to my NKOTB concert… no matter what… my dream was coming true… not only that.. My boyfriend bought my ticket for my birthday. I cried… I can not wait to see you all in Vancouver!!! Lots Love T.Bird
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Glad you were able to get out there and vote. I voted early on Friday. Sorry!!! I voted for McCain. Hope you don’t hold that against me. I’m pretty sure I voted for the losing cause anyways. Take care!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:42 pm

Hey Jon!
I already voted last week here in Georgia. I hope you don’t have to wait in line as long as they are saying. I was in and out in 30 minutes on Thursday! I had to vote early because I have my final project do in college on Tuesday and I couldn’t risk not being there on time. ITS TAKEN 7 YEARS TO GET THROUGH COLLEGE.

GO OBAMA!!! I was excited to see in Jordan’s video blog that you were wearing the Obama shirt! I vote here in MA as well Tuesday. Also an important note for all in MA (just expressing my 1st Amendment right here lol) …
VOTE NO ON QUESTION 1! (if this passes people I know who work as service providers i.e. Health Care & Human Services can loose their jobs and in turn I loose my services I depend on as a Disabled American.)
Here’s to a victory party 5* VIP Style at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday the 8th!!!
ROCK THE VOTE!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Well…I won’t be voting for the same candidate…but I love you anyway. Let’s just all say a prayer for our next leader and for our country. That’s what really matters anyway. The president can’t do much without a little (or a lot) of help from above.
November 3rd, 2008 at 6:07 pm

I just want to wish all the Americans good luck on this special day.
You have the power to change your country for the better, which is a start for a better world I think. I’d like to respect everyone’s choice, but have to say I AM WITH JONATHAN ON THIS ONE! It’s such a huge thing, the possibility of the first African-American President, I wish it didn’t matter, but it does!
November 3rd, 2008 at 6:17 pm

November 3rd, 2008 at 6:18 pm
I am upset by the fact that people on here will probably vote for Obama just because you guys are. There are a lot of moral issues at stake in this election. How anyone could support abortion at any level and think it’s okay when a baby is born alive during an abortion, the doctor does nothing and the baby suffers and dies. If you live in Florida vote yes on Amendment 2. One man, One Woman. If it fails whats to stop people from marrying their family members, having multiple wives/husbands, or even sickos who would marry a pet! There has to be another way or some other type of union for same sex couples. Check out the facts before you vote people! Don’t vote blind. You guys have worked hard for your money so why on earth do you want to give it to people who don’t?
November 3rd, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Jon i would love to chat with you…e-mail dopey75@hotmail.com

Jon,
I can’t believe after all of the media, debates, commercials, etc. it will finally be over. A new President will be decided upon. I still do not know who I will vote for but I guess when I step into that voting booth it will become a permanent decision. Regardless of who wins I hope that our country and our people will come out on top.
Good Luck with the rest of the tour. See you on Saturday!
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:04 pm
I have voted in every election since turning 18. I remember being mad I turned 18 a couple of months too late to vote for Clinton’s first term but I did volunteer for his campaign. Barack the vote, y’all! Voting is a privilege and it’s also your responsibility. Get involved!
Jon, you’re my fave NK! =) Thank you so much for visiting San Jose, CA and for being on my side of the stage most of the night. I was right next to the stage and took SO many pictures! I can’t wait til you come back. I LOVE The Block and have been listening to nothing but NKOTB since it came out. It’s driving my boyfriend nuts!
Please release “Don’t Cry” — it’s my fave song, although I LOVE them all, esp. tracks 8, 9 + 14.

Hello Jon!!! is good for knowing by that you incline, I am Mexican gilr and here the majority, we want that Obama the chosen one. Changing the subject, it excuses my English, but I deliver a great attack so that you understand to me :(.
I have a pair of questions; 1. - exists the possibility that they give a company/signature to us of handwritten in the Mèxico city? good is a peticiòn is one, please I do not want to die a my 29 years without handwritten yours, je je I am a little exaggerates :), But I want to have it and to see them. 2.-You know some city of my country?
You know the time you made more handsome!!!

November 3rd, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Just wanted to say that I was at the NKOTB concert in Tampa. My girlfriends got me a ticket and I drove from Palm Beach to go.I enjoyed the music years ago but never was a screaming, crying fan unlike some of my friends when we were 11 & 12. As an adult, I have to say that I had a great time. Performance was on point and the manor in which you all spoke with the audience was great.
Jon, I always picked you as my fav. You always seemed to be so “whatever” about the star power and let the other guys get the spot light. I think I always gave you props for that. I was however a little disappointed that you did not get any mic time at the Tampa show. What’s up with that???
Anyway you and your boyz keep doing what you are doing.
Take care!
Stacy
P.S.I did buy the Tank to support the Breast Cancer(great think to do!)
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Hello Jon!!!!
I have to say that I am very excited for several things this week….first is that the election is finaly here! Second and is being able to come to Philly and see NKOTB in concert. I am very excited to be celebrating my sister and my birthdays on Wednesday night with all of you and thousands of other fans!! I also hope that we will be able to celebrate Obama’s start to the White House. I think the only thing that would make this week any better than all of that would be able to meet all of you!!
See you in Philly!!!! Time to celebrate!!!!
Tammy
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Hi JON! I was at the M&G in Ft. Lauderdale was nice to say hi to you again even all went too fast there!
If I could vote in this country, I’d vote for Obama also! Hope he wins! Because things are getting to ugly already!
Thank you!
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Jonathan,
Sorry to say that I that I have to disagree with you on your choice for President.
(We can still be friends, right?) Our freedom of choice to vote for whomever we wish is what makes our country great.
Everyone should exercise their right to vote. Please educate yourself on what are each candidate’s views on the issues before deciding who to vote for. Do not base your vote only on who “looks” more presidential.
May God bless America!
Pam C.
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Hey Jonathan,
I’m a Canadian! Though if I was American I’d vote for Obama all the way!!!! America deserves positive change !!

November 3rd, 2008 at 7:49 pm
Hey Jon!..So happy to read your blogs! Keep em coming! It’s great you’re encouraging fans to go out and vote. My friends and I are getting psyched for our third show in Philly! Can’t wait to see you guys again…although this is an important week for our nation…lets just hope however it turns out we can all just enjoy how awesome your performance is and stray from turning it into some sort of convention….Keep on rockin!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:51 pm
Jon,
I have been checking the site all day, hoping that you would leave a message about voting in this important election! I just tucked my two year old into bed and was reminded again how important it is to get out and vote tomorrow. We have the power to change the future for ourselves and our children! Thank you so very much for reminding everyone to vote. Barack the vote people!!! WE can change the future!
PS…you have never looked hotter than you did in the Obama tshirt!
Aly
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Thanks, Jon. I’m with you on voting for Obama. Just wanted to also share what I got from a friend today because whatever happens tomorrow, we know who won’t occupy the White House any longer…:
One sunny day in January, 2009 an old man approached the White House from
Across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he’d been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to
go in and meet with President Bush.”
The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer
president and no longer resides here.”
The old man said, “Okay” and walked away.
The following day, the same man approached the White House and said
to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”
The Marine again told the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is
no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to
the very same U.S. Marine, saying “I would like to go in and meet with
President Bush.”
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man
and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking
to speak to Mr. Bush. I’ve told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer
the president and no longer resides here. Don’t you understand?”
The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just
love hearing it.”
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you tomorrow,
Sir.”

November 3rd, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Hi Jon….way to go!!!! I am voting for Obama as well and will be at the polls bright and early tomorrow morning before heading to work
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Jonathan,
How awesome that you are sharing your political views with us! Especially since I happen to agree with you! Ill be at the polls bright and early in the morning voting for OBAMA baby! I cant wait to see the results tomorrow night…
Also, IDK if anyone told you this (sorry if I seem weird, LOL), but it is really sexy to me that you are so open about this. I guess it comes from how very private you seem to be, and this is a subject that many people choose to keep private. So thank you for being open!
BTW, I cant wait till we get more answers from you!
I <3 EMUS!!!

Its Awesome that you are gonna make the time to go vote. I have heard too many people say they aren’t going to vote and it drives me nuts! I already got to vote about 2 weeks ago. I’m registered for Florida and had to send for an absentee ballot and mailed it out about a week and a half. To me if you don’t vote, you have no business complaining about how things are ran in our country. Not to mention that my husband is in the military and its very important that we get our voice heard and counted in 1 way or another.
I also voted for Obama by the way!! I’m gonna be up really late tomorrow or up really early Weds to here the news.
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Hey Jonathon,
I was all for Obama until his redistribution of wealth campaign so now I dislike both candidates (If only Hillary were running still) so tomorrow at the polls I will be flipping a coin heads Obama tails McCain. But I guess that is why I live in America…freedom to choose. Obama is gonna win Massachusetts anyway. Oh well. See you Thursday and Saturday!!!!

November 3rd, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I am a conservative girl myself so I am McCain/Palin. We may differ on who is the better canidate, but I still love you anyways Jon. Barack Hussein Obama scares the crap out of me with his flip flopping on his policies. That man changes his mind as often as he changes his socks. That alone makes me widely uncomfortable. I want my canidate to have experience, and McCain has that in his favor. What experience does Barack Hussein Obama have? Community organizer?lol I’m sorry, but I want my canidate to have more experience than being a community organizer!lol So for that very reason that is why i’m voting for McCain/Palin tomorrow. I will agree with you that everyone should get out and vote tomorrow reguardless of who u are voting for.
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Hey Jonathan,
Thanks for doing your part to encourage others to take part in the election. I made sure to early vote before heading to Atlanta to see you guys last week!
I loved meeting you at the M&G last week…you are such a sweetheart!:)
~TNgirl76
P.S. Don’t forget Nashville, TN on the summer tour!:)
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Thanks Jon! So happy and proud that you are voting and encouraging everyone else!! Since you are not on the ballot, I will be voting for Obama first thing in the morning! LET’S GET THIS!!
(hmm perhaps politics when you’re done with real estate? just an idea!)
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Thank you, Jon, for taking this election seriously. Regardless of whom one is voting for, he should not pass up the opportunity to have a say-so in who will take us forward. As a black female I am very excited that those before me (both black people and females) fought for me to have this honor and I will NEVER take it lightly.
I hope that everyone gets out and votes. Voting is not a right, its a privilege!

Hope one happens and PLEASE keep Charlotte, NC on the list. Its close to where I live!!! Keep up the great work and EVERYONE GET OUT THERE AND VOTE (if your old enough…lol)

Jon (and all other readers),
Though I am not one for posting in these forums I just had to share my own views on your voting post. First of all, it is great that you are encouraging others to do fulfill their civic duty. I am proud that we are in America and have the freedom for that to happen in such an open way. I think that forums such as this blur the line a bit between the professional and personal and as such can see where it may be relevant in this situation to share your opinion (god knows many posts that I have read here and on the community board have definitely crossed several lines with all of you in the group). After all is said and done, I had the choice of whether or not to click to read the post at entirely no cost to me and I chose to read it. That is all good -
The part that I don’t appreciate is that you are using your venue as an entertainer to promote you political agenda, instead of keeping it nonpartisan. Specifically, I find it to be completely unprofessional for you and other entertainers to promote their political agendas during performances (that applies to both sides of the aisle). People attend concerts for the music, energy and spectacle not for political speeches (which your t-shirt clearly is). Obviously, it would be very easy for you to come back and say “well then don’t look at the shirt” or “leave the concert” but the last thing I would have thought is that going to an NKOTB concert would subject me to a political ad. I truly enjoy the music and enthusiasm at your concerts or else I wouldn’t be there. You are all obviously intelligent individuals with a keen business sense, and I value your opinion just as I do any other politically active person but am just not interested during performances, regardless of how aggressive or passive those expressions may be. I attended a concert already during this tour and will attend another in the upcoming days with an investment of several hundred dollars - the last thing I appreciate is more political ads. If I wanted to invest this money in a campaign ad, I would do it more directly.
If you or any other entertainer want to wear a t-shirt for either candidate, I have no problem when it is done during their personal time or if they are performing at a fundraiser for a candidate or party. As a teacher, I find it offensive when other teachers promote their political agendas during classroom time and through their jobs and believe that also applies to journalists, entertainers, cops, etc. Unless you are a lobbyist or politico - “you” (and I mean anyone with a job) is not being paid during “work time” to play politics.
Once again - luckily we are in the USA where you and I can do whatever we want within the law and enjoy all of these freedoms (regardless of how inappropriate either of us think the other’s actions are)!
That is the flip side to your post - would be interested in what you think after hearing my viewpoint.
I look forward to the upcoming concert and having a blast.

Jon,
Thank you for being a good America and person by voting. You know it’s sad that we give people props for doing what they should …that’s what wrong with this country now. It should not be a big deal that you went out and voted or that I or anybody else will. When I think about the people who make excuses for not voting it makes me mad. I can’t respect a person who choses not to use the right others would kill for (and many have died for…)*sigh* I even become disgusted just thinking about it.I am so proud of the people who have fought for my right to cast the ballot for Obama tomorrow (or today in some states.) Jon please know that you have my deepest respect as a person,as a member of NKOTB ,and as a fellow American for doing what you should…and for doing what’s right ,by using the voice you have. There are millions of people around the world who would give up everything to have the opportunity to vote.To all who read this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…black, white, old ,young, northern, southern, male, female, dem, or rep…it does not matter, just show the that you care about this nation and VOTE! Love to all~Aralashea

Hey Jonathan,
The “Let’s Get This” green sign girl reporting here!
I traveled to Tampa from Texas to see this show and noticed that you were not wearing your Obama shirt for this show! Why the change?
I just gotta say that with all of the excitement of this years elections, for the FIRST time in my life, I have registered to vote! Thus making it my very first time voting in ANY elections(excluding the ones I did along the way in school). Wish me luck!
I’ll be Obamaing it tomorrow myself.
Regardless of how it turns out, THIS IS HISTORIC!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Jon..loving the fact that you’re voting for Obama. I’m 22 years old and this is my first time voting. Regardless of how it turns out, it will definitely be a historical event. I saw the show in Atlanta from the 2nd row. Although I’m still fairly young, I’ve been a fan since I was six. Hopefully I’ll be attending the show in Paris with my VIP passes..half way around the world to show my love. Keep up the good work. Love you guys.
Your girl,
Randal Lane

Something funny in an Election Day.
Please everyone be cuatius for whom you are voting, 300 million (+12 million) people in the US and 6.0 Billion people outside the US will be affected for this Election. As a mayor Supper Power, the US elections affect the whole word as we saw it in 2000 and 2004. More people are affect it today by the US elections that any other time in our history, so take that in mind.
Also, we shoudl not forget the President is not the only one that Governs. Our Congress and our Senate have more policy making power the our President. And sad part is that the Congress and the Senate have only
11% of Aprroval, when Mr. Bush got like 28%. Our two houses have being doing NOTHING in the las t 8 years. Lets pressure the Hoses again, as we did in 2006.
You Vote, you are Democracy.
Good luck everyone

GO JON! I’ve been away from the computer all day - I was kind of glued to the news channels because, well, this is an amazing, exciting time and I can’t get enough of the craziness (being on the interwebs would simply be overload hehehehe).
I’ve read through some of the responses to your blog and I have to say: I respect you in a really big way for being totally open about how you’re voting…and that’s not just because you and I happen to be voting the same way but because it takes guts in this day and age. 8 years is too long…and while I respect each American’s opinion and right to vote for the candidate he or she feels represents them and their interests best - I have to say it’s time for CHANGE.
I am so excited about tomorrow I can’t begin to say…and I will hoefully be celebrating with you in spirit come Wednesday
Take care - kisses by the millions to you!

Yea for democracy!! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! However, if McNasty (yes that was his nickname in high school) wins, I MAY have to join my friend Mandy in England. Sorry, Irish. I don’t speak Dutch.

No matter who wins, that person has a lot of work ahead of him because he has to clean up what the Elephant has dumped, first…
Good Luck, America!!

Hi Jon,
I just read some of the more negative comments who said “one” shouldn’t use one’s platform as an entertainer to advertise political views.
I think it’s perfectly fine to do so as long as the views propagated are not anti-democratic. A lot of entertainers, musicians do so: Bono of U2, Pearl Jam, Springsteen - often their music and their lyrics are all about politics. It’s so rediculous, because a lot of fans spend a lot of time finding out stuff about their favourite star’s view, attitudes, private lives, and what have you. And when someone makes a public announcement as far as their political views go that’s somehow not-on, that’s overstepping a boundary, like politics and one’s views on it are some sacred topics, not to be touched.
In your case it’s a good thing - inspiring people to vote and finally change the obnoxious, aggressive, irresponsible, peace-threating politics that have reigned in the last 8 years, what’s wrong with that! It’s like saying, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, it’ll kill you. And we all know that’s the message you guys promoted in the early 90s.
Good going, Jon. A mean who ceases to choose, ceases to exist!!!! Good choice!
November 4th, 2008 at 3:20 am
P.S. Plus, even newspapers like the Washington Post and New York Times have came out to openly back Obama. Not to mention Colin Powell - a Republican who said he will vote democratic. If they can, what’s wrong with our favourite pop group to do the same. To be frank, as a fan I’m kinda proud to know a band I like has views on all this stuff. I much prefer that to opinionlessness.
November 4th, 2008 at 5:05 am
I’m in England totally wishing we get a vote…after all what happens in this election will effect us almost as much as it affects America!! I am totally behind Obama so your vote get’s my thumbs up - I’m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!!
Much Love,

Hey Jon,
I have already posts my response to your blog but in re reading other peoples posts i had to make a comment ( I never go back and read) I agree with blockhead79….. it is freedom of speech and we all have to remember that entertainers are people to and can voice there opinion in any way they want …what is the difference between a celebrity wearing an OBAMA t-shirt and me wearing one..It is just that people would more listen to a celebrity than me and there is nothing wrong with that.. I think it is perfectly ok to voice who you are voting for but when it comes to referencing his middle name (what was the point in that!!!) I read another one that said Martin Luther King was a republican, so was Colin Powell and he is now voting for a democrate. I think all that negativity can stay off the blogs because that is not fair…. Whatever the outcome….. HISTORY will be made…….
Loving you from Toronto, Canada
November 4th, 2008 at 6:02 am
I am an Obama voter, too. But I agree - make up your own mind and VOTE! Ladies, we have had the vote in this country for LESS than 100 years! Women before us were beaten, went to prison, and even died for us to have this right. Line up the issues, prioritize them, and make your choice!
November 4th, 2008 at 6:18 am
Hey Jon nice to see you are going back home to vote! Being from Canada I can not do my part in that election except by doing the same thing as you and asking everyone that can to go out and vote. I do hope Obama wins because it will affect the rest of the world! Let’s hope you can celebrate President Obama as well as we will do here in canada if he does win! So to everyone from the US go out and VOTE it is time to express yourself and take part in that vote that will be historic! have a nice day everyone!

Hi, I just wanna say I’ve been a South African fan for the past 20 years which hasn’t been easy by the way, we had apartheid and boycotts, so we never got any info or merchandise or concerts, very heartbreaking for a lovestruck teenager! So, rright now, i can’t believe I even have the oppertunity to get this close to you guys and have you read my “blog” Wow! Your cd was released in our country last week and I just wanna say Well Done! You still give me gooseflesh at 32! Please keep SA on your marketing list, I understand if you can’t come here for a concert, but send us stuff anyway! I’m also a Benoni Girl and I knew Charlize Theron who acted with Mark, so we have that “6 degrees of seperation thing” Anyway, I’m excited you’re back together and please keep your SA fans in your thoughts, we’ve REALLY been starved of “Facetime” or any other time actually . . . Love always Angie
PS: Your new album makes a lady feel real sexy - nice at this age
November 4th, 2008 at 7:41 am
Hi Jon,
I was at Obama’s last rally of the campaign. It was last night in Virginia. I’m on my way to vote this morning. Go OBAMA!!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:10 am
Wow…my tickets in trouble if the comments are a representation of the country…yep…voting McCain! Hey all else being equal (I know others don’t think so) gotta go with my second ammendment and a woman in the White House! We are all making history today! Can’t believe the numbers here in Casper, WY at 7:00 this morning. Unbelievable record turnout and that is saying something here in the middle of nowhere with our 3 electoral votes! I really admire all of you who have to wait in really long lines and go through so much hassle, or like NKOTB fly home! It’s really great to live in this country, have the right to say our piece and still live with each other and “play nicely.” Yeh, Democracy!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:12 am

I was so excited that you were doing a reunion tour since the first time you toured I was about 11 years old and my mom wouldn’t let me go… I was crushed. I really hope that you put out the concert on dvd since my girls weren’t able to go with me now that we are spread out all over the country maybe we can at least get together for a girls night and watch it.

I am so ready for change! The only past I am cool with re-living is the good ole’ New Kids on The Block days … lol! Seriously though we all need to think about our future and vote wisely, if not History will repeat itself. The economy is in a very scary state right now, families are losing their homes, people are without jobs (my husband just joined that group) and it only gets worse day by day. LET’S MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE BY GETTING OUR THERE AND VOTING FOR OBAMA!
November 4th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Hey Jon,
I bet you are the sexiest voter in your polling location. Do your thing cutie…Go Obama. I voted this morning after waiting 2 hours. I miss you already. I seen you during VIP Atlanta, and I’m already having New Kid withdrawal. Please come back to Atlanta and do another concert and VIP. I’ll be there again. Tell Jordan I said hi and all the rest of my NK boys…well grown men. I want to get me some grown man!
November 4th, 2008 at 10:39 am
I just voted! And it felt great. Thanks for helping get the word out!
November 4th, 2008 at 11:25 am
I will have to agree, Philadelphia is a special place! I think it is great you encouraged people to get out and vote. Just one more reason to love ya! See you on Wednesday in Philly!
November 4th, 2008 at 11:31 am
Jon,
You’ve always made me smile, but knowing that you’ve voted for Obama makes me a little teary eyed (in a good way)!!!!! This has been a hard year for everyone and honestly, seeing NKOTB in concert and listening to THE BLOCK has been exactly what this 32 year old needed….to feel 13yrs. old and care free again!!
I JUST VOTED FOR OBAMA TOO, AND I FEEL GREAT!!!!!
See ya next time you’re in NYC.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:32 am
I hope that Obama wins too, Jon. The U.S.A needs someone like him in the Whitehouse. I love to see him win.
Love you always;

Hi I am from South Carolina and recently saw you guys in Charlotte NC. I do have to say it is one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I was totally blown away by your overall perfomance, was happy to here some of the songs that I grew up with. You guys still look perfect as always but now with a little twang. All grown up for a grown up crowd! No need to worry about me supporting you, you have my forever love and appreciation.
Can’t wait to see you guys again. How often do you guys go on tour?

Glad you get a moment to vote. Here in SC I stood in line for 2 1/2 hours but we’ll see tonight if it was worth it. I got to see you’ll in Charlotte last week and let me just say that the concert was better than I could have ever expected! I am 32 and I felt 16 again! I loved it! November 4th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
I’m from Germany, but I hope Obama wins, too. I’ll press all my thumbs and toes today!!! Unfortunately I can’t watch the polls on TV tonight, so I’ll have to wait until tommorrow morning to see who’ll be the next man in the White House. But as far as I can say Obama would by far be the best choice for the USA and the rest of the world!
On a different note, I would like to thank you Jon for your patient answers to all our questions - you’re just great!
Looking forward to seeing you guys in Germany!!!
Love and kisses to “alle funf” of you!!
Nathalie
P.S.: Send some extra hugs and kisses to Donnie, please - can’t wait to have my real hugs and facetime next year!

Love you all
November 4th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Just a single question….
If Nixon, Johnson, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush hadn’t change nothing, will Obama or McCain change something?
What we are leaving is a 30 years of mistakes. How can we changed it?
November 4th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Jon,
Thank you for using your voice in a positive manner by encouraging others to vote. You and everyone that votes today has my deepest respect. As a black woman, voting takes on special meaning to me.My mother grew up in the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, Montgomery,Al.I also ended up growing in Montgomery as well ,so this day is a very humbling one. So, it makes me sad and a bit angry when people waste their poltical voices by not voting. There are so many people who gave up their lives to have the rights we are born with,or fought for. People should not take voting for granted. “You know you never know what you have until it’s gone.” I hope it will never take someone losing their right to vote ,to truly appreciate how special it is.
As for what happens today…if Obama wins, that should only be the beginning of change for this nation. There is so much that needs to be done. I think from now on the world will be paying closer attention to the United States. As a nation let’s really step up and prove that we are the best nation in the whole world. Let’s be better than we were yesterday ,but not a good as we will be tomorrow…
November 4th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Hi Jon, Jordan, Donnie, Danny and Joey,
Here is a great quote my sister sent me yesterday:
Diversity is the sometimes painful awareness that other people, other races, other voices, other habits of mind, have as much integrity of being, as much claim on the world as you do. And I urge you, amid all the differences present to the eye and mind, to reach out to create the bond that… will protect us all. We are meant to be here together.
Love, Hugs and Kisses Always,
Jenny

Jonathan,
After 20 years I have had the chance to meet you. It was only for about 5 minutes but I will remember that 5 minutes for the rest of my life. I saw you at the Tampa Florida show on Nov. 2nd. It was the best day of my life. When I got back there I gave you a note. I knew that I would not have time to say everything that I wanted to. I always thought that you were sexy and fine, now after seeing you I you are even hotter in person. Oh my god. I just froze when I first saw you. I composed myself and went right up to you. You were so sweet. You gave me all the hugs I wanted and I was able to stand next to you for the picture. You had your arm around me and I will never forget it. I was wondering if you had a chance to read it. I hope so. I think it’s great that you have the chance to vote. I also voted for Obama. Well I will write everyday in the hopes that one day I will hear from you. Your #1 fan always….(Jon girl)

Can I just say that I work in an office that is the epitamy of what a blue collor worker is and a majority of the people there are Republicans. So, needless to say I did vote, and I voted for Obama and have found a few more of us there that did also. I am really hoping that he wins. I think it’s time for a change. This should be a good election. Jon, hopefully you are celebrating his win tomorrow, because if not, I will be in hell here in Phoenix with all of the McCain supporters in my office!

I am another in the minority on this site. I am for McCain, but do not really like EITHER candidate. Voting however is ALWAYS important no matter who you vote for!

IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE TO WHAT?????? Socialism??? No one gives a good reason why they are voting for Obama!!!! Why is that??? Probably because there isn’t one!!! Anyone who is or has voted for Obama should at least give a good reason why anyone else should. I have to agree with the person who said opinions should be kept for personal time.
God is in control so if Obama wins I guess he will be used to judge the nation! If it is true that Donnie is voting for McCain then you rock Donnie
November 4th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
I just wanted to let you all know that whether you vote for Obama or McCain i still love you guys. The fact that you guys even voted is amazing to me, every vote makes a difference.I’ll be there to support you guys.
Sincerely,
Shakira
PS.GO OBAMA
Oh yeah and i god reason why obama should be president is because of his health care plan and how to make it better.

Hey Jonathan looks like Massachusetts and Florida have done there part for Obama!!!
November 4th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Hi Jon,
Glad to hear that you are voting. Went out early this morning and did my share. I hope that Obama wins because I think the country needs a change and that he is looking to improve our nations finances and health care and many other reasons I have for voting for him. Whoever wins at least people are coming out and giving their votes and having there voices heard. Every one has a opinion and can express it whether we like it or not. Happy Election Day McCain and Obama supporters!!

Good voting choice Jon, if I could vote, i’d vote for Obama as well. Saw you guys from the front row in Winnipeg, Canada 18 years ago today, and saw you again in Minneapolis a few weeks ago. The show was amzing. It was also my 30th birthday, so thanks for the party
The best part of the night was when you guys were on the little stage, I was the one in the blue shirt jumping like a lunatic on the chair…pretty sure you saw me, since you started laughing (i’m sure you dont remember since you see that night after night)…it made my night anyway
Glad you guys came back, you were missed. Keeping my fingers crossed you add a show in Winnipeg, we’d love to have you guys…beside, I didnt get to give Donnie his hug.
Who wants the block to come to the Peg say I…I
November 4th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
Hi Jon,
Once again I have to congratulate you and the guys for rocking the vote. I did my part as well today and I voted for Obama, because we NEED change and I am a registered Democrat. I am so happy that you were not afraid to express your political views. If all goes well……. I will be very happy to celebrate with you at the Borgata on Friday night!!!! No matter what happens, this is the most historical presidential election in American History!
November 4th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Good Evening Jon
Glad to hear that you voted. But hate to hear who you voted for,but we all have are rights and that is the main thing. Our rights and it seems to me that OBAMA wants to take those away. Maybe tomorrow in Philly you should tour the historic cities and recall what our 4 fathers wanted for this County and see if you made the right decision.I myself am proud to be an AMERICAN I pledge the flag and all that it stands for and it is sad to see a county vote for a man who can not even honor the flag. Have a great nite and enjoy the rest of your tour.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Tomorrow is going to be HUGE for me! It’s my birthday and to have Obama elected would be my best present ever. I’ll be a few rows away from the round stage with a black t-shirt that says in pink “Birthday Girl Wants Face Time” and a round Obama pin :-). But seriously, if he gets elected and I see you guys tomorrow, it could go down as the best birthday ever. I’m from the Chicago area and when I see the footage of the folks in Grant Park in Chicago I get teary-eyed. I wish I could be there to experience the moment.
I like your blogs. All of you guys have your own personalities and make this site entertaining, of course, but you don’t seem to be playing up a certain side of your personality which makes you seem even more genuine.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Jon:
I agree we need to vote–we need a change. I voted for Obama as well. I like his platform and his plan to hopefully turn our great nation around. I left early enough from home to vote before I had to be to work.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
I’m sitting here in Canada, and so many of us would vote as you did Jon! You voted for me and all my Canadian friends that are sitting here thinking “I hope that guy wins the votes”…
hehe
personally, I just get a really good vibe off of the guy…I always follow my intuition, and somthing about that guy is just right…I also like that he had a hard life and made something of himself and inforced positive change where change was needed…it’s not everyday that you run into a person like this in general. I think he has the right kind of fight in him, and I think that he would/will do a great job…I guess I can see why people are so passionate about this…but than again, I’m from Canada, so my opinon doesn’t really matter in the long run I guess…

Hi Jon!!!
I have to say seeing you in San Antonio this month really helped me to decide who to vote for, not just based on who you were voting for but who I should vote for and I voted for OBAMA!! I’m not political at all and have just recently started to read more, it’s time for a change and who better else to do the job.
Blessings and thanks for coming to S.A.
Peace!!

November 4th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
President Barack Obama.
=)
it is more overwhelming then i thought it would be — how lucky are we to experience this moment in our lifetime — no matter how you voted, no one can deny what a milestone this is in our nations history and how far we’ve come. we still have ways to go in many respects — but what has happened today proves that we’ll get there.
2008 is a good year. NKOTB and OBAMA =) (you know I just had to say it!)

November 4th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
I am excited right now even though I’m not an american citizen. Barack Obama
has won…..woo hoo. I know that if I was an american citizen I would have voted for him….but some how I do feel sorry for John McCain….george W bush and his father before him has screwed the republicans big time….it wasn’t even a fair vote because of the mess george w bush left the country in.
YOu guys are so lucky to have a new leader like obama that has so much class…I am finnaly excited about the future and wish that canada’s citizens would take our elections as seriously.
Love you Jon (knight)

OBAMA WINS!!!
November 4th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
hey sweet man hope you had a great day off I know you are having a great time now that Obama has won - I did my part and voted tonight too. Watching Election and seeing new leaders in our country especially now that I am older and I can really experience it - it is amazing and it is such a rush whether you vote for the person who wins or not because you realize as you are sitting in your living room that you are witnessing a piece of American History it really is a great site to behold. I know you are soooo happy tonight and you will totaly geared up for the show in Philadelphia tomorrow night.
Right now I am totally going to bed because I am an injured woman - honey I so wish you lived near Brooklyn tonight I so needed some Jonathan TLC I swear lol. I had a slight mishap on the way home tonight which for me since I am total and complete klutz is not uncommon and truthfully my family especially my mom has come to expect it every so often from me lol. Tonight getting off one bus and getting ready to get on the other bus for home, totally fell and took right on the pavement, okay for the record and I can state this as someone who has fallen on both outside on pavement and inside on carpet and flooring a lot just a lot - pavement hurts a hell of a lot more just so anyone who needs to know will lol. Anyway to make it even more fun instead of just skinning and cutting up the knees as usual - usually just the left one which I did do tonight and it is right now very much aching in pain, I also fell on the face and the nose got all cut up - I know it sounds like a fun evening right lol - amazing thing is because it has happened so much to me - I can now pretty much get right up and just keep walking lol. So now I have a bandage on my nose that is really not attractive trust me - at least the nose is not broken I keep moving and twitching it like Bewitched it is moving pretty good - it just does not look pretty and the only thing I could find for the knee pain is one of my mom’s Ben-Gay patches for her back - it sounds weird but is actually working. I should adorable for work tomorrow lol. So I am in pain and slightly drugged up on alleve and hopefully I made sense in that last paragraph but if you want to come and give a fellow east coaster some much needed tlc honey I so need some lol. to prove I am a trooper though even with my nose bleeding and in pain from my knee before I went home I voted and they went home to took of my wounds lol.
Anyway let me let you go and celebrate tonight I would celebrate with you but the alleve is kicking in again and I need to go to sleep and pray I do not have a black eye in the morning lol. Love ya have fun tonight celebrating I know that you are so happy. Be careful traveling tomorrow and have fun at the concert make sure you are getting enough rest and eating right and everything and have fun. Love ya bunches.

I am new to this whole blogging thing, but have enjoyed reading your comments. You seem like a pretty neat guy.
To tell the truth I did not share the same opinion as you for our presidential hopeful, but trust that what you and so many others see in Obama is for the good of our country and what I have seen is proved wrong.
Have a wonderful evening and show tomorrow night. I know you guys are going to give it all you got, that’s why we love ya.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Tonight, fear did not prevail, hope did!!! Go Barack Obama!!! I heard this and I would like to share: Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King, Jr could walk. Martin Luther King, Jr. walked so Barack Obama could run. Barack Obama ran so our children could fly. Good night!!!

November 5th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Hi Jonathan!!
How awesome is it that the country as a whole was able to come together and get out the vote?! I am so excited for Barack Obama! I am proud to say that I am one of the few Democrats in the state of Texas! I am also proud of my county (Bexar) who was also one of the few Blue counties in the state! It was exciting to watch the results come back! I stayed up really late to watch President Elect Barack Obama give his really touching acceptance speech! I am looking forward to change coming!!!!
We all did our part to get out the word to vote. I participated in early voting here in San Antonio and it was the highest turnout ever for our city and I am proud of that! The way our country voted last night goes to show that we are moving forward. I am excited that my daughters and the rest of the world were able to see history made last night with the first African American elected to the White House! The hard work is now beginning! Let’s get in there and get it done TOGETHER!
November 5th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Jonathan!!
We all did it! Obama is our new president! I’ve never in my life imagined that I’d ever see the day when the first African-American president would be elected. I’m so elated. I truly feel this is going to be a wonderful change for all of us in this nation, and in the world. This historical moment in time is what everyone has been waiting for. I told you that in El Paso, Tx. almost everyone voted for Obama, it was 63% of us!! This turned out to be pretty amazing. Let us all come together and let us all do what we were ment to do TOGETHER and NOW. As Obama said “YES WE CAN!!”
Yours,
Miss Betty
November 5th, 2008 at 8:48 am
YEAH BABY!!! ITS NOW OFFICIAL, “YES WE CAN!!!!!” Congrats USA for doing what was right and voting correctly!!!! Its not about sex, color, being gay, anything, its about USA and CHANGE!! AND HISTORY WAS MADE PEOPLE!!!!! WOOHOO!!! Its about time!!!!!
November 5th, 2008 at 9:04 am
We did it! It happened! Change is upon us.
Regardless of who everyone voted for, the important thing is that people came out and voted.
Did you enjoy finding out the results?
November 5th, 2008 at 9:09 am

President Obama and Vice president Biden. Wow, has such a wonderful sound, and so full of meaning…..History was made last night. I cried when i got to hear Predident Obama’s victory speach. I made sure to save it so my daughter could hear it and understand what USA did for her and all children. We had to vote for the best candidate, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, etc. We as American Citizens voted from our heart as to who was going to be the best man for the job of running our country. Now, I am not going to lie, McCain did have a lot of great promises, but so did Bush. We needed a democratic sweep to happen to bring the USA back to where it needed to be. We also have shown now that we can be smart and put aside differences in all aspects to make sure that our childrens’ future was not going to be bleak and dark, but have choices and opportunity…..THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT VOTED, AND I HOPE WE CAN ALL COME TOGETHER AS ONE NATION UNDER GOD AGAIN, AND AGAIN LIKE WE SHOWED WE COULD LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 5th, 2008 at 9:34 am

November 5th, 2008 at 11:03 am
I’d just like to say that I’ve had an unbelievable week! I’m a new staff writer at an alternative weekly newspaper in Philadelphia, where you guys play tonight. I don’t have tickets to the show, yet I’d like to post for you here a link to a little web gem I wrote late last week, while our town was erupting in sheer joy at winning the World Series (sorry Red Sox) and anticipating (nervously) America’s unprecedented faith in a brother for president for the very first time. I could still manage to articulate my feelings and relive some fond memories of my NKOTB days. This article was posted to our Make Major Movesmusic site, edited by the beautiful and talented Brian McManus. I sincerely hope that you guys and the other fans enjoy it. Its posted HERE.
November 5th, 2008 at 11:18 am

Hi Jon
Looking forward to catching you guys at the O2 Arena in London in January. I would just like to say thanks to you and the other millions of americans that voted for Obama. It was what the majority of people in the rest of the world were hoping for - some one in the white house willing to listen, talk and co-operate on major issues like foreign policy and climate change. Here’s hoping he really does change things for the better.
Love you and the others! Claire x
November 5th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Yeah, your guy WON…I bet your concert campaigning was a big help to Obama!
Regardless, you guys put on a awesome show…it was nice to meet you.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Jon,
I knew you would vote Obama :-). Good man! Look forward to seeing you & the guys at the 02 Arena in Jan 09.
I never thought I would live to see this moment and I have to say I haven’t been this excited about an election for a looooooong time. In fact, last time was when I was campaigning to get myself elected, but I since hung up the gloves to lead a ‘normal’ life and I’m enjoying it.
Thank you America for choosing the man for the job and I look forward to the years ahead. I know President-elect Barack Obama will not disapoint his people or the rest of the world.
God bless,
M x
November 5th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Thanks Jonathan for reminding everyone to vote. It looks like your message was heard. I am so excited that Barack Obama is going to be our next president! And I think you encouraging nkotb fans to get out there and take part in history is fantastic.. I wish all celebrities were as politically minded as you. Have a great show tonight.

YES WE CAN!
Way to go Jon! Chicago and DeKalb were both CRAZY with excitment! you should have been out here!
November 5th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
This is my third time in my life voting for president and FINALLY I am crying with JOY, not diappointment. I am really disappointed, though, that Proposition 8 (to change California’s constitution to say that marriage is only between a man and a woman, invalidating the current right to gay marriage) actually passed. =( I read that Joey stated he was also supporter of equality in the right to marriage, which is awesome (if it’s true). I wonder what you’re take on this is. We had lots of interesting/crazy propositions to vote on on top of the presidential candidates! So Californians had a lot at stake when we voted this time! Glad I got the chance to participate!
November 5th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
OMFG! You guys have only gotten better with age! I just got home from the Philly show and WOW! All I can say is WOW! You left me speechless! Please come back! I’m ready for another show! I truly along with the thousands upon thousands of other fans enjoyed the blood, sweat, tears, heart, and soul you gave us. You 5 ALWAYS leave it on the stage and we thank you for taking us back and showing us the way forward! You’ve got me twisted!!!!!
November 6th, 2008 at 12:16 am
obama has the right stuff!im glad jon is smart enough to know that.good for you jon rock the vote because it works:)
November 6th, 2008 at 1:56 am
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope he won’t increase the taxes for the higher incomes too much….LOL!
Just kiddin, I am happy Obama won!!!! Not only the people in the USA have been waiting for a “change”, the people in Europe were looking forward to that too!
We are dealing with the financial crisis as well. Thank God we have a slightly different system, esp. for healthcare and loss of jobs! But we still have to be careful were to spend our money on and stuff like that!
Let’s hope for the best the next couple of years!!!!!! I know having Obama as President will help!
X *Jess.*

Hi Jon,
So this is my second note for you…this is kind of addicting! I did not vote the same way that you did, however, I am ready and excited to get behind our new President. I am still hoping that you guys will decide your reunion tour would not be complete without a stop in Cincinnati!! I really want to go to a concert SOOO bad! I have watched some youtube clips and it looks AMAZING! I really would love to see your infamous “butt dance” in person!! Thanks for taking the time to answer the q&a and blog your thoughts.

I thank God Obama won, he is what this country needs to turn it around and move in the right direction. It seems our country has been down so long especially in the last 4 years, I am so happy for this positive change.
Let’s Get This!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!
Yesterday morning, still not entirely awake, I heard my husband say: “Hey, guess what?”, not at all enthousiasticly.
I feared the worst and asked: “McCain?”
“Yeah…”
Then he went silent for a few long seconds and then he said with a broad smile: “He lost!”
Aaaarggghhhh
I feel like Nelson Mandela is elected president again. Times ten.
People have been talking about the Bradley-effect, but forget the Bradley-effect. This is the Obama-effect!
November 6th, 2008 at 8:13 am
By the way, I totally agree on the importance of voting. It’s a privilege, a gift, being able to vote. To think about what you want or what you think is important and then have the opportunity to help make it happen. I also agree with Mascha (at least I think that was her name) that you don’t get to critisize (how do you write that? It all looks so weird, however I write it) your leaders, if you didn’t take the opportunity to help choose them. You want to critisize your leaders? You should have voted!
November 6th, 2008 at 8:40 am
It’s nice to know that the rest of the country feels the same way. That they would like to be able to experience change and we will be able to now. It is about 8 years too late but the time finally came.
November 6th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Hi Jonathan!
I just read, that Obama, before announcing his presidential candidacy, he began a well-publicized effort to quit smoking. How about you do the same? PLEASE! I mean, quit smoking, you don’t need to publicize if you don’t want to : )
November 6th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Jon,
Philadelphia ROCKED last night! It was so amazing to celebrate our country’s victory at the same time that my friends and I were celebrating your reunion. I loved being able to wear my Obama shirt with pride! Thank you for calling on all of us to participate and make our voices heard in such an important election. Yes we can!
Peace & Love,
Jen

Nearly 48 hours later, I still can’t stop grinning… I went to a show last night in downtown Orlando and that seems to be the general consensus.
Huh, who knew hope would feel this amazing.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
I love you guys more than words can say going to your show and the after party hope you all can make it there… seeing you tonight is my dream come true!!!!!! nkotb forever!

November 6th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
I voted for Obama, Thankfully others did to, don’t the US could’ve survived McCain as president.
November 6th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Thanks for encouraging us to vote Jon! I remembered to cast mine
Now that Obama has won there seem to be so much more hope for the future in this country. There also seems to be many people ready to take action. I think that’s Obama’s real value–that he knows how to inspire so many people.
I also want to say thank you to all of you for getting back together. I was a fan the first time around and I still am today. I love listening to your music. “Single” was playing in my head constantly for about 3 weeks. I love the happy whirlwind you all create around you. Thank you for exposing yourself to all the madness again
You seem to be relatively down-to-earth and successful at the same time.
Some of the stuff I read on this site and the community site makes me want to tell you about something I am doing. Your having trouble sleeping, how Jordan overcame his fear of singing solo with the help of meditation, even Donnie constantly saying, “Get your mind right!” makes me think, “I must tell them about Brain Wave Vibration!” But I don’t really know how. The community site makes my head swirl and you guys very rightly guard your well-deserved privacy.
So I decided to do it here. Brain Wave Vibration is a kind of moving meditation actually. It’s kind of funny and fun at the same time. It’s based on the idea that if you take some time to tap into your body’s natural rhythms, you will feel more clear, more relaxed, less emotional, more centered, and even heal a whole host of things. I do it almost every day, especially when I’m feeling a little “off”.
All you really have to do is shake–your body, your head. We often use drumming music to practice it. You should also focus on your brain stem, which you can imagine being near the base of your skull. Sometimes I just focus on relaxing whatever is tense in my body, or on a particular goal I have.
By using your body, it’s a lot easier than meditating by just trying to focus your mind. Even though it gets better with practice, anyone can do it from the first try because it’s so simple. It’s really about just letting yourself be free without any inhibitions. Because it’s hard to describe in words, I’m putting a link to a video on the website (that’s actually me shaking in the video): http://www.brainwavevibration.com/whatIsBWV/howToPractice.aspx
It really does put your mind right because the vibrations kind of reset your brain. I’ve found that we’re naturally happy when we let go of a lot of the junk we carry around. Beyond the happy, happy, joy, joy stuff, I’ve also gathered stories about people who have helped their high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, partial facial paralysis, even Rett syndrome–a lot of muscle and hormone stuff actually.
Anyway, I’m glad you guys are having fun. Enjoy the rest of your tour! And have a happy birthday Jon!
Love, Michela

I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT TWO
AMAZING THINGS HAVE HAPPENED
IN THE LAST 6 WEEKS. 1st I got a chance
to see you grown and sexy Mothafubs twice
in the month of October and it was OFF THE
CHAIN! I couldn’t have imagined that NKOTB
would have pleasured me and my fellow concert
mates the way that you did. You guys held it
down and represented like no other. I know you
would have never thought that you’d have the response that
you guys got when NKOTB got back together to do this
(Thanks DONNIE AKA D DUB or BKA the Cheese)
I and your fans appreciate the hustle for THE BLOCK.
You totally deserve 110 of the love,
support and respect from your fans of the past and present.
It’s a really GOOD LOOK when 5 white guys can
bring a black girl to tears, even after the fact.
I pray, wish, hope and will pay the price for NKOTB’s
return to the City of Chicago next year. The second most
amazing thing is we finally got a Black Elected
President (Obama “The Lock” Babaaaay)
in the White House. I’ve said in my life that
I wouldn’t live to see a moment like this actually come to past.
But dammit we as a people have done it.
This has been a hard 6 weeks for this woman,
but it has been extremely rewarding. New Kids thanks
for the memories and please make more….
and MY people… MY people… MY people thanks
for the change we needed the most.
Much love, much peace and much more…

Hi Jonathan, sorry I haven’t replied earlier but I’ve had more important things on my mind- my dog Nitro was put to sleep on 28/10 due to alot of medical conditions, we both knew it was time to go.
Anyway glad that you voted for the right person, as an Aussie I couldn’t vote in the election but I wanted Obama to win(let’s hope he doesn’t continue with the “wars’ that W started.
Wish we didn’t have to vote here in Australia. BTW When is Australia getting face time and the famous Jonathan cuddles?
November 6th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Jon,nice to see you in Philly! It is nice to hear that you were excited to go there. it was an awesome show. I hope you all consider continuing touring and creating new albums!
November 6th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Thanks for mentioning the Philly concert, Jonathan. I was there last night and you guys were absolutely awesome. I can’t tell you how much this reunion has meant to me, especially the tour. My fiance was killed on April 30th, and we were due to get married on October 18th. So you guys gave me something to look forward to while I anticipated the concert and last night you guys gave me a reason to smile, dance and be happy again. For a few hours, I was a kid again without any worries, without any problems, without any pain. (I am in actual physical pain today though, I am not 10 anymore all that dancing, standing, jumping, screaming puts a toll on you the next morning now that we are older!) So I can’t thank you enough for last night, for the reunion, for the album, for just giving me something to smile about again. You guys are amazing and always have been. Thank you! COME BACK TO PHILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello!
I am also happy that Obama won the election. I was raised a Democrat in the South which is the equivalent of having a third eye…
I am absolutely crazy about you! My friends and I came to the ATL show and a Coca-Cola representative there gave me tickets to the Charlotte concert. We did not hesitate to drive the extra 3 hours. We scored an awesome suite for 0.00 (connections) and had a blast. We were right beside the piano, and I have some great pics (thank you). I wish you had other dates in the “South”.
I know you must be tired and anxious to get back to work, but I believe you guys could pull another tour successfully in 2009! I also hope there is more music from NKOTB.
I know we did not meet, but I do hope our paths cross eventually.
Wishing you much happiness and success in all of your ventures.
Warmest Regards, Amy
November 6th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I guess the unity of some blockheads has been broken by the differences of opinion over the election. I’m proud Texas voted Republican- I worry about the future of our great country, but look forward to seeing what President-elect Obama will do for us (Republicans- we gotta stay positive!!). And if I don’t like it, 2012 is only 4 years away!
What makes me laugh is some of the responses about the New Kids’ political views. First, unless the election changed the constitution, we all have the right to free speech. And second, HELLO?!?! The New Kids are from BOSTON, where Democrats and Kennedys grow on trees!!! HA!
Had a BLAST at the Dallas concert… I’m enjoying reading these blogs!! Keep ‘em up, everyone!!!
What a country!!! God Bless America!!! and Hook ‘em Horns!
November 6th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
YAY Jon!!! We voted for Obama too and it looks like America spoke!
It was great meeting you on 11/2 in Tampa, you were really nice and a great gentleman. I look forward to another New Kids tour in the future!
God Bless America!

Good Morning Jonathan, I went to the concert in Providence last night and it was amazing! I was wondering if there is a possible chance of getting a 2nd concert there again? Thanks, Dina.
November 7th, 2008 at 5:41 am
You voted and now you soooooooooooooooo know it counted if you stuck with your commented decision!
I see the tour dates just dissapearring on the list and y goodness it reminds me you guys are working so hard, and hopefully it sure is paying off in imeasurable awards.
So today I woke in some pain with my joints wailing like a tormented babeh, I think it could be dehydration or so but a bit scared, I have a non-existent pain threshold and often have some ailment or another pah..
But I recalled a funny thing, I had what I believe my first ever NKOTB dream, where it was announced on TV that you had just recieved into the world your first son that you and partner had named…wait for it….
NATHAN!!!
lollllllllll, do I get marks for my imagination or like a free NKOTB gift ha ha (I’m actually serious there???!!!???)
Of course starting small in dream world means they can improve as hoping to make one of your concerts draws closer
Happy performing and great vibes with a new president that may change things as is useful for you and all…

Hi jon,
I’m from Berlin and for me it was an exciting time and couldn’t await to see barack obama win. I knew, he would win. He got the power and the strength to change.I really mean what I say. I hate wars and fights. Why can’t people live in peace and respect and tolerance for each other???
There is a song on my mind and it goes: this is a very serious message so all of you, please listen. There are some people, living in this world, they have no food to eat, they have no place to go ……
I’m loving it…
the block is the best album ever. I love summer time, click, click, click, stare at you, put it on my tab, grown man. How was it working with the ladies.
I just got the best of cd with all your hits in 1996 for easter, cause I was a baby when you all started singing. Obviously, I’m the youngest fan with my 25 years. but I’m loving your music.
When I was eleven, the year nkotb parted, I had so many posters in my room, and my fav was joey. oh my god, this is a long time.
so, I said enough, well good luck on your tour and
lol, hugs and kisses…

I am so glad to see there is one other NKOTB fan out there that voted for Mccain, ha! I am now trying to be positive and hope for the best. I am excited that this country broke down barriers and we have an African American president, however I am a born-again Christian and have a lot of problems with some of the liberal issues. However, I love everyone and am praying and determined to be positive. Jon, thanks for taking the time to vote. Donnie, if you voted for Mccain, alright!!!!! It is great you guys realize that is what makes American so great, we can all feel the love, even if we differ in our opinions!!!!
November 8th, 2008 at 1:25 am
Voting, a wonderful privledge, and a sign of freedom. I say that no matter who you voted for, just vote. It was such a tough election this time around. I had been watching the debates, and really keeping track of things. Amercia has made history, with the first African American, which is a sign, that in Amercia, anything is possible, and good change is on the way.

hey Jon,

I am in London, England….so happy Obama won, here’s looking forward to the great relations between England and USA….and th rest of the world!! we were all chanting ‘yes we can!’. can’t wait to see you in concert in Jan at the O2 arena…..my sister and I are originally from Zimbabwe….so this is going to be so awesome for us as we will get to see you guys perform for the first time ever
November 8th, 2008 at 7:34 am
To all the McCain fans I voted for Obama so I’m glad he won, however I think McCain is an intelligent man. He conceded graciously and I was impressed by that. I was on You tube and watching my favorite video “Loving you forever” and there was a very hate filled message calling our New Kids gay and “nig” lovers. We have to be adults. It’s ridiculous to waste our time on Earth calling each other names. Please love each other. We are all in this together.
love always
Erin

OK POLITICS ASIDE - I SAW YOUR CONCERT IN CHARLOTTE - AND I HAVE TO SAY I WAS A LITTLE UPSET. THE SHOW ITSELF AS A WHOLE WAS AMAAAAZING - BUT THE OMAGE PART - WHERE YOU ALL PAID TRIBUTE TO THE FALLEN LOVED ONES - I WAS DISHEARTENED TO SEE - OR NOT SEE - JEFFREY FURST’S PICTURE SINCE HE PAS LAST YEAR… HE WAS THE FINANCIAL BACKING FOR YOUR GROUP YEARS AGO… AND AN OVER-ALL NICE GUY. HE WAS MY UNCLES BEST FRIEND… THAT’S PROBABLY THE ONLY REASON I KNOW THIS… HERE’S AN ARTICLE I FOUND ONLINE… THOUGHT YOU MAY WANT TO READ IT.
Brookline -
Jeffrey D. Furst of Coral Gables, Fla., formerly of Brookline and Newton, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at his home. He was 62.
Born in Cambridge, he was a son of Priscilla Davis Furst and Melvin Furst of Longboat Key, Fla., formerly of Newton. He grew up in Newton, attended John Ward School, Windsor Mountain Academy in the Berkshires and the Boston Conservatory of Music.
At a young age, he studied with Madame Margaret Chaloff, a piano teacher in the Boston area who mentored many jazz artists. In 1968, Mr. Furst founded the group Fourth Stream, an early avant-garde jazz quartet. They recorded an album that was responsible for Mr. Furst being named one of the top 10 jazz pianists in the country by the 1968 Downbeat Magazine Reader’s Poll.
The Fourth Stream began touring the country, and in the winter of 1968 was the featured act at the Jazz Workshop in Boston. His complex avant-garde compositions were noticed by Darius Brubeck and his father, Dave Brubeck, and were included in their performances.
Mr. Furst’s performing career ended in 1975, when anxiety on stage prevented his performing in public. He then set out to educate young artists and founded the Contemporary School of Music in Brookline’s Cleveland Circle. There, national artists starting their careers, such as Bonnie Raitt and James Montgomery, taught young musicians. The school was in operation for 15 years, and from there, Mr. Furst built the first rehearsal studios in Boston. In those studios, the Boston rock band The Cars developed their successful style, along with numerous musicians who gained national attention.
His entrepreneurial spirit motivated him to start a used piano business, a moving company and a limousine service. In 1981, he opened the Empire Deli on Brookline Avenue in Boston, and soon after started a Comedy Club at that location where young local talent such as Bobcat Goldwaithe and Steven Wright, as well as veteran Henny Youngman, performed.
Mr. Furst was instrumental in early promotion and financial backing of the group New Kids on the Block.
He leaves four children, Alexander Furst, Danielle Lee and her husband, Oliver, J.D. Furst and Eliza Furst; his parents; three brothers, Ronald Furst and his wife, Diane Taylor, of Kittery, Maine, Gary Furst and his wife, Ethel, of Newton, and John Furst and his wife, Amy Cody, of Newton.

Jon:
I am reading some of these comments and wow is the word that comes to mind. I joined the “community” website and started receiving messages from strange people in foreign countries… not my thing. I had to close that account immediately.
I just want you to know that you have always been my favorite NKOTB. I am crazy about you and always will be.
I do not believe that you guys are really this accessible, just call me the skeptic. I feel like a loser sending messages through this blog, also… not my thing. Yet, here I am… Go figure!
I hope you make a stop in Nashville.

Jon,
Although I voted for McCain, I hope that Obama can prove to me, and other McCain supporters, that he was the right choice. Anyway, I am and always will be a New Kids On The Block fan.

HEY JON,
I CHOSE OBAMA…MY ENTIRE FAMILY CHOSE OBAMA.
WE HAVE MUCH RESPECT FOR McCAIN. HE’S A HERO.
TO ME OBAMA REPRESENTS HOPE AND CHANGE WHICH
THE COUNTRY DESPERATELY NEEDS AT THIS MOMENT.
HE’S SO INTELLIGENT, SO WISE AND WELL GROUNDED
HIS FAMILY IS PROOF OF THAT.
I WAS SO TIRED BUT STAYED UP LATE
WAITING TO KNOW HE HAD WON.
I WANTED TO HEAR IT LIVE AS THEY
FINALLY ANNOUNCED IT.
THAT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!
SO GLAD YOU WENT OUT OF YOUR WAY TO VOTE.
YOU MAKE ME PROUD.
I THINK OPRAH WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE YOU
ON HER SHOW THAT DAY OF THE ELECTIONS…
MY LOVE ALWAYS,
MAYRA
