JOE SAYS DRINK IT UP!

The thing with something like this is that you want to hold on tight
to every minute. You stop yourself and all the noise of the grind and
say, “wow, let me soak this up before its gone again.”
But the thing is you cant hold on too tight because it wont flow.
You wont be your best if you are hanging on too much.
So again it is balance. It’s really a remarkable journey filled with
lessons every night. I love the stage and to have an opportunity to
live there in front of so many and such love is an immense gift.

I love feeling and looking at every show. Every show is great, but
there are ups and downs- for me anyway… but for me, that’s the only
way. The ebb and flow. The waves. The highs and lows. The balance.

So drink it up, but be able to get up and go to work the next day.

    Hi Jon and Joe,

I admit. But I think it must be like a flush for many fans- it must be hard to keep everything under control when they are “hunting” you- hope your BLOGS will affect to this fans. Joe,
I think I know what you mean with your heartfelt blog. I don’t know what the downs are but don’t let the negative thinking cloud your wonderful ride. As you say, you are blessed. And when all this is said and done, feel fortunate that you were able to have such an experience and look back upon the sweet memories. Who knows what will happen after your tour ends but I pray that we diehard fans are enough to keep you guys singing and performing until it’s your time to depart the earth.
THANK YOU for all that you are doing! You have brightned and enriched many lives with this comeback including my own. NKOTB has consistently been the silver lining throughout my life. THANK YOU for being so nice to the fans and hearing me out in our sweet, brief encounter at the 5 Star M&G in AC, New Jersey. In such a short time, it’s hard to find the righ thing to say except THANK YOU! I LOVE YOUR MUSIC. I LOVE YOUR HIGH ENERGY PERFORMANCES. YOU GUYS PUT ON AN AWESOME SHOW! DON’T EVER STOP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING! WE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE AS LONG AS YOU ARE!
    Lovin NKOTB Forever,

Joe, you have such a gift. I was lucky enough to see three concerts and am so amazed watching you on stage, I can’t even explain how I feel. I LOVE Twisted, it’s like a story unfolding right there in front of you on the stage, again, I could watch it over and over and over. Now, I must wait until next summer to “drink it up” and I am SO looking forward to it! So glad I got to meet you and look forward to meeting you again next summer, maybe this time I will be able to muster up a complete sentence! LOL

That is…If you guys come to Australia.
We’re still awaiting our face time!
Keep up the good work Joe!

  37. amalam Says:

Joe, are you trying to tell the “crazy” fans to calm it down a bit? I couldn’t agree more!

  38. pmiller Says:

Okay…I took this two ways. In the philisophical sense I so know what he’s sayin’! My post-concert-depression just about had me stayin’ in bed all day, every day. But I need to look at it differently now and think..wow, I lived out (part) of my dream..to see the guys from the front row, with my daughter, and it was just amazing! I have great memories to take with me now.

And in the literal sense I think…uh oh! Was Joey McIntyre at the same bar I was at over the weekend? Cuz I definitely had trouble gettin’ up and goin’ to work after “drinking it up!” LOL Be cool EVERYONE! Peace!

  39. ktsummer Says:

Hmm, I’m not sure what to make of these blogs today. First, people are crazy idiots. Now I wonder what these lows are you mention. I hope there have not been too many.

I’ve had some fantastic NKOTB-related highs this year and right now I’m going through some deep lows because my mother is very sick. (My friends passed on my letter to you at Mohegan on 11/8, so maybe you remember this.) I believe the highs helped brace me for the reality we are now facing, and I certainly appreciate the peaks of the waves even more now that I am in the lowest point.

I’m about to get rambling and sappy, so I think I should just stop and say thank you once again for going on this ride with us.

    The Flow!! You’re correct.

I am a bit of a scale tipper myself… But I do understand where you are coming from. I’ve been there with you for 5 shows… It’s been ana amazing trip for me too.

    Enjoy the ride!

  45. CheeseyK Says:

Thank you so much for your message!

And I’m AT work, but having a tough time concentrating ON work. I even made it to work on time the day AFTER I saw you in Philly. But I tend to find myself here at the website way too often, or on youtube watching all the videos. I just can’t get enough of you guys.
Is there a support group for people like me?

I hope all 5 of you are still feeling it and that the reasons why you all came back together again are still there!

    Love,

  57. aprildenay Says:

I’m going to be really selfish here, forgive me for that. I’m not ready to see this end yet! NO NO NO! I have only been to one show this tour, that’s all i could do. Yes, i’m thankful for that much, but i still need more! (I told you i was going to be selfish!) I know most of you have families, some even little babies. I can only imagine how difficult it is to juggle that. Thank you. Thank you for giving us a small piece of yourself. With that being said, please do another tour! Go home, rest up, get your fill of family life, then HIT THE ROAD AGAIN! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

As always, my parting request….SEXIFY MY LOVE!!!

  58. Tonya Says:

Joe you look at home on the stage!

“So drink it up, but be able to get up and go to work the next day.”
    I couldn’t have said it better myself…..

    Enjoyed you guys in Altanta!
How is the little one doing?
maybe next time I cant meet you and Donnie!
    still wanting some face time

  59. ssnlvsnkotb Says:

do u guys really read all these messages? i guess it’s a good pass time on the bus!

  60. jmeNstl Says:

Joey – I saw you guys last night in the STL and it was not only hard to wake up and go to work this morning, it was hard to go to sleep. In fact, it was hard to get my butt on the metro and go back home instead of stalking your bus like I did the last time you were here. Ha ha. Oh yes, I remember the Comfort Inn and hanging out with you and your dancers, bouncer and playing video games with your band mates. You had on brown leather pants and a black shirt with the sleeves cut off. You were a perfect gentleman and I had a blast. Your wife is a lucky woman and your son is adorable. Happy Bday to Griffin in a few days, huh? I was hanging over the railing as you walked off stage, blonde ponytail with a turquoise top…I felt like you recognized me but of course I’m no mind reader.

I just have to say, I was concerned at first that you guys were going to do one tour and leave us high and dry. But after last night’s show, I see that you guys are still amazing and you’re having so much fun. I can’t wait to see you back here in the STL soon. Keep on rocking and much love to you all!

    jaimemeade@msn.com

  61. kath Says:

    Dear Joey Mac,

I saw you last night in STL…we had 2nd row seats along the aisle right up front. Great show and I will never forget it! I didn’t get to meet you though-maybe next time. I have followed your career and am so happy for you. I don’t know if she gets a lot of attention, but I knew her right away-I saw your wife Barrett walk by me a few times. God Bless her for being able to travel with you and put up with so much. It has to be hard for both of you. You have been blessed with a beautiful family and I wish you so much happiness. You have a precious baby boy…DRINK up every minute of that-they grow fast. I know time is precious-I have a 6 year old, 3 year old and have lost my precious newborn daughter…so I know it is tough. I’ll keep looking to you for support!

    Best Wishes-Kathy B.

  63. nkgirl Says:

i plan on soaking it up and letting it flow through my thoughts come this weekend

    Amber

  64. jmeNstl Says:

P.S. I am a little dissapointed I didn’t make on FACE TIME! I was in the furthest seat to stage right (right next to your exit). Jordan, we need to work on getting the girls on the edge next time and not just the center of the crowd!

  65. Tanja Says:

    WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  66. kkehoe Says:

Hi! Thanks for putting on such an amazing show in St. Louis last night. It makes me wanting more…again. Every lady that I went with understands now why I am completely smitten with you and the guys again….Thanks for making us feel young and carefree for the night…seeing old friends and having so much fun watching your energy and talent on stage!

Be safe, have fun and take care…and maybe one day…this fan of 20 years will get a chance to meet you. katie

  67. Azn_Hunny Says:

OH JOE!….I LOVED YOU FROM TIME AND I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. I SAW YOU IN TORONTO WHERE ALL THE MAGIC BEGAN. ALL 5 OF US (THE PHILLIPINO GIRLS THAT YOU CIRCLED AROUND YOU) DROVE 13 HOURS TO SEE YOU GUYS AT THE M&G IN ATLANTIC CITY. THE MEETING WITH YOU WENT SO QUICKLY AND I WANTED TO STAND NEXT TO YOU BUT WAS SHOVED BY THE SIDE BY SOME CRAZY FAN AND I DIDN’T GET TO STAND NEXT TO YOU :( FOR THE PHOTO OP.

I’M PLANNING TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR, HOPEFULLY YOU’LL HAVE 5* SO I CAN RECLAIM MY PICTURE WITH YOU!!!

ALL THE BEST AND KEEP WELL BABES!

  68. Angela72 Says:

Wow Joe, I don’t know if you’re really perseptive or what..but you nailed it right on the head. Ever since my 5* experience in Atlanta, my friends and I have had a really hard time getting back into the swing of the things in our “real” lives. I was in a daze for a few days after..and I’m a Mommy…don’t wanna be zoning out into nkotb land while I’m supposed to be watching my daughter show off her ice skating skills..lol
You guys touch us in a way that no one else could ever understand and we do want to hold on to that forever, but we must get back to reality. Thanks for your blog, I love that you guys take the time to communicate with us.

    Love you always-

Hey Joe, I feel almost the same when Im working. I can´t fully enjoy it because I think too much. Then again im tired all the time and everything happens so fast that its always afterwards im happy i was there, but never when the actual moment is because im so into my work.

Work is still work and you are doing a really really good job!!! The concert is amazing, the cd is great, meet and greets everywhere you go, 5 concerts each week, crazy girls running after you, sleeping in a bus thats moving…

we are for ever greatful that you are doing this all over again!

and i think now when we are older we really see what you are going thrue…

lots of hugs and cant wait for my next concert… hopefully in sweeedeeen!

    love, susanne

  70. zena Says:

oh Joe! i am really trying to soak everything up! i really want to thank you and your family for allowing you to do what you and the rest of the guys are doing…giving up your family life to be able to give all of your fans another chance to re-live their memories and to make new ones and make new friends in the process! Thanks so much Joe!

  71. londonangel Says:

I have been trying to drink up every show i’ve been to. You are an amazing performer and I could watch you everynight and never get bored. I get to see you one more time in sunny Scotland!! XXXXXX

  72. candacerf Says:

Well said Joey: Happiness is balance, when things get off
kilter you feel so out of sorts. Please don’t let this
unbalance you. You and your family come first. Then, everything
    else follows after.

I do hope to read of another tour in the future after you have
stepped back and evaluated everything. I so want to meet you all.
Again, you are the most extraordinary men; never lose that in
yourselves. You are truly the in the words of Nat King Cole,
    “Unforgetable”.

  73. Nats2379 Says:

    Hi Joey,

just want to say thank you again for giving me the opportunity to share this wonderful ride with you! Even though I’ll still have to wait until January to see you guys in Frankfurt I already drink up each and every second - ever since I’ve heard of your comeback my every day life passes on so much easier..having to go to work when every day looks the same…I’m flying and living out my teenage dreams! Never thought I’d be able to do this again - and this is all because of you! You’re helping me to keep the balance, to the balance - although it’s hard sometimes not to lose yourself in these day dreams and lose my sense for reality!

So, I think I know what you mean by keeping the balance and making sure you can get up and got to work the next day. Hopefully, I want fall into a deep depression by the time this fantastic journey is over!

I also hope the lows you’re talking about don’t weigh as much as the highs and happy times you’re experienceing on this tour! Whatever happens, I hope you guys are able to enjoy this ride and keep it in good memory! As you say, there are always highs and lows, but we have to be positive and make the best out of everything!

I’m so happy you guys have come back, don’t ever want to let you go again! We’ll always love und support you and be thankful for sharing this ride with us!

Have a great time - can’t wait to see you at the M&G in Frankfurt - hope I’ll manage to formulate a reasonable sentence!

    Love as always

    Nathalie

P.S.: As far as these “stupid” fans are concerned, I can only say I definitely agree with you guys - how can adult people be so crazy and irresponsible? Do the really think this is a great way to show you how much they love you???

  74. zeldakitten Says:

It has been so wonderful to have you back together. We so appreciate it.

  75. jenniknight Says:

Well said Joey! You all are intoxicating-for me at least. So, I try to know my limits. ;) I just hope it’s not over this soon, I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t see the 5 of you perform live again this Summer.

Unrelated-can you post a pic of Griffin in his Halloween costume? I’ve been wondering what he was and how cute he looked on his first Halloween.

  76. kgmom2abcd Says:

    Joe:

It is so wonderful to see you all perform. You never disappoint. I love your energy onstage! It is phenomenal!!! You are right about the whole “get up and go to work” thing. That is definitely a struggle. I find myself wanting another concert. I saw the show 5* in St. Paul and could’ve gone to Milwaukee but chose not to. Now I’m kicking myself. Ah well, no regrets! I will just wait patiently and be hopeful for a summer tour!!

Anyway, I sure hope that since Jon posted his thoughts about how some of the fans are acting, that things calm down a little for you all and you are able to complete the rest of the tour “near-death” free! :)

Love to you all and keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for 2 amazing nights! The second concert, I left my camera behind and drank up every single second. It was amazing! I wish you all the best with the rest of the tour. Should you decide to do more shows in the “New England” area, I will be there showing some love again. Stay safe!

  82. Deen Says:

Can’t tell you’re having fun, are you? Your fans are feeling the same thing. I think one has put it as “Concert withdrawal” and needing to hold on to every moment of the shows we’re able to enjoy.

    Loving every minute of it!

…hence the tradition of giving flowers after a performance… representative of the fleeting life of the show. It is beautiful as it lasts… but you know that it will soon be over. It is meant to be cherished in the moment… but when it is time to move on it does not hold you back.

You’ve given me many memories that took only seconds to create… but I will keep with me always.

    Thank you!

Jon…..I’m so sorry some ’stupid few fans’ were doing that, it’s unbelievable! It reminds me of these stupid tourists in the mountains getting out of their cars to take photos of wild animals..you just don’t do that. I know that my fellow fans are crazy about you but you’re right we are adults and need to behave like adults. Oh my god we don’t want you to die in some accident either…whoever you were don’t do it again EVER!x

I use the ebb and flow analogy often. There’s good and bad in everything and as long as the good usually out weighs the bad, then your set, when it starts becoming unbalanced, then it’s time for some changes.

Glad you are soaking it up, as are the fans. I am sure you guys are looking forward to some time off, I have a family too and can’t imagine going a hundred miles an hour like you guys are… but I sure do appreciate all that you and the other guys are doing, it’s so much fun!

    Joey blue eyes,
nice to know you’re enjoying every moment of the tour. You guys are awesome. I was at the philadelphia meet & greet. It was the most wonderful experience I ever had in a long time. You and the rest of the guys were so sweet to me. I am glad you enjyed and like the buttons I made and wore to represent all of you guys. You loved the little cane, top hat, and gloves representing your acheivements on Broad Way. I love you guys!

    Joe,

I just want to say you all put on an amazing show last night in St. Louis. While I did not get to meet you I know when to say when to risky behavior.

I took everything in last night, the smell, the sounds, OH OH OH the sounds.

I will drink up every minute that you guys spend working so hard for that great cd.

I will drink up every minute you spent rehearsing the moves for that wonderful show.

I will drink up every memory I get to relive in my mind of last night Nov 10th.

I will drink up being with my best friend at her very first NKOTB concert last night.

Last of all I will toast with all you and the fans that NKOTB can share with their “smart” fans all the fun we have been having on this ride.

Thank You so much for everything you guys do. You have made a lot of women happy including “MYSELF”. My obsession has become more intense but never in such a way to put my guys in harm.

Please keep working hard for us “Smart fans” and never ever forget how much we love ya.

    Love Ya,

    Hi Joey,

You and the rest of the guys are such an inspiration and a true testament
of what it is to be hard working. I know the shows are great fun…but being on the road isn’t exactly easy. I want to take this time to thank you and the rest of the guys for putting your lives on hold (so to speak) to give us this awesome opportunity to reconnect with you after all these years. The daily grind isn’t easy for any of us but you’re right…this is special. Enjoy it sweetie and continue being that classy guy we know and love.

  95. Pao Says:

It’s nice to hear from you Joey.
Meeting you on Saturday (Ft. Lauderdale) was a dream come true for me. I will never forget you and hope that we meet again.

Also, on a more serious note: KUDOS TO YOU for such an insightful blog. It is much appreciated.

  96. Lilac18 Says:

    Thanks Joe,

That’s why we love you, you always have positive ways to look at things and good advice. As exciting as this all is being able to see you guys again, it has definitely been a roller coaster. It’s such a nice escape from the tough things in everyday life that it’s easy to get too absorbed by all of this.

That’s the hardest part, from the fans’ end as well. Enjoying every minute of this while not getting too caught up and absorbed by it. As nice of a distraction it all is, it only makes things harder getting too distracted by it.

I think the hardest part is just how long some of us have followed you guys. After 20 years, and the way you’ve always made us feel like a part of your lives, you guys feel like old friends. The difficult part is the fact that you feel like close friends, yet we tend to forget that in each city there are thousands of fans who feel the same way.

Your video for “Rain” always makes me think of that. It’s like you’re in this box where we can see you and we can connect with you on some level and vice versa but there’s still this wall which makes it near impossible to get that level of connection that we really want, to be able to meet you and actually sit and talk for a minute.

You guys are all just such amazing people that all of these fans want you as part of their lives. You’re right though, it’s all about striking some healthy, realistic balance - for you and for us. Thank you all so much for your blogs, meet and greets, and overall efforts to reach out to us as much as is possible in such circumstances.

I hope, in return for all your efforts to connect with us, you will all get the respect you deserve so that you can all achieve your own balance as well.

  97. Katherine (...in L.A.) Says:

You have such a way with words. You explain the emotions of this so perfectly.

From where I stand, I fear that I am holding on to one moment in time so tightly that I might miss the next. I want to remember that what I have experienced was truly real & not some illusion or dream.

It’s weathering the ebbs & flows that make it so worth it. How can one appreciate the highest of highs without some of those lows that allow you to reflect on where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going. The negatives allow you to appreciate the positive. And I see that appreciation every time that you write. You are definitely soaking it all up & will have tons & tons of stories to share with Griffin and his future siblings :) .

Sorry, that I got sappy. I just had a piece of my past show up on my front door today (not a good piece :( ) and its making me very reflective of all that I’ve experienced, especially in August. I hope you know what I mean.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with a bunch of people who are mostly strangers. I’ll see you again in just 2 weeks ;)

  98. Whitney53 Says:

I have to say that sometimes you do get caught up in it. Even as a fan we get caught up. It’s not enough or too much. What if it ends? All I know is that my 4 day trip around TX and Louisiana was so much fun. I drank up so many experiences and soaked up so many memories. I hope there are more to come. Long Live “THE BLOCK”!

    Best wishes,

  101. vickiw Says:

    Joe,

I hope you write for your family too. You express yourself beautifully in words. I know how much I enjoy reading your thoughts- thank you for sharing them with us.

  102. VictoriaC Says:

Well - I’m impressed by you, to say the least. Nice to see good guys experience great successes! I do hope you and your wives and family really get to drink this in. I just saw a VH1 special wherein you told the interviewer back in the early 90’s that your experience would be cool to look back on when things calmed down and you were in your 30’s with kids…that they could look back on that time. I am FASCINATED and THRILLED for you that you’re experiencing it all over as adults. Good for you.

I also want Jonathan to know that HE WAS HEARD. That is a matter of life and death and crazy fans just don’t THINK. They just don’t THINK about safety and consequences. And I feel for him and his driver and all of you guys who experience that crap. Pray for safety and make wise choices…guess that’s all you can do, right? But kuddos for the blog on something that serious.

    Victoria Carter, Los Angeles

  103. kimberdancer Says:

BALANCE! Exactly! I’m on journey of finding this in my own life! I know that my VIP moment was a time of “soaking it up!” Sometimes I wonder if I did hold on too tightly! I know that I continually told myself to be in the moment and enjoy it…I feel like I lost myself in a few awkward moments while meeting all of you, but I truly was doing my best to soak it up! I don’t know if you know what it’s like to meet the people that brought so much music and pure joy in your life and to meet them was a dream! I hope you have since you have more resources than most…

Anyway, you’re right about holding on too tightly…I have been there and struggling to finally let balance into my own life! So, thank you for the blog! Life is screaming @ me to find that balance, and this is one more thing:):)

All of you have this gift that you’re sharing with us fans once again, and the ride is so much sweeter this time around, and we’re all so blessed to be living the dream:)

I hope The Block is inspired to try a summer tour b/c I know many of us want more, but you have to want it, too! I support you and The Block (BTW, Close to You is a GREAT song! So glad it’s on ITunes!).

  113. Essentia Says:

Nice to hear from you again Joey! :) I love the way you express yourself, and how truly meaningful all of your experiences in this really are to you.. you get very deep into it with your blogs and I appreciate that. You’re such a jokester, and a charmer, and the ultimate showman… all wonderful qualities that are some of the many reasons we love you, but it’s nice to see this … almost philosophical side. :)

It’s also good to get that reminder. We, the fans, are so wrapped up in this because we didn’t know if it would ever happen, and some of us still wake up every day thinking “this is real! oh my god!”… and we don’t know how long it’ll last. So.. we want to hold on for dear life and not let a minute of it slip by us. And I think that’s entirely understandable, but life goes on. “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”, right? And we need to remember balance in this too - be grateful you’re back, enjoy your music and your shows and your blogs and your hugs and… remember to pay attention around us once in a while too. :)

More than anything, I’m happy to see you taking notice and finding balance… I hope all of you guys are able to do that. I maintain that we want this to keep going as long as possible, and I don’t think that the 5 of you, and your crew and families and personal lives need to be strained from being SO ‘in it’ every minute that you all just exhaust yourselves. It won’t continue if you all can’t find a way to make it work for YOU, no matter how badly we want you to stay, and we understand that and accept that and will always be here, even if there are breaks and other endeavors need attention. :) Please know that you finding balance and what works for you, so that we have all the time in the world to ‘drink this up’ together, is important to us too.

There I go, off and rambling again. One day I’ll learn to be concise. Maybe. :)

Thank you for .. letting us in again, and for being such an inspiration and encouragement every day, whether you know it or not. :)

    Much love,

You have to understand that for many of us this is the first time we are doing this “showgoing internetstalking thing”. I am amazed at how well organized the blockheads are. At the Atlanta show for example, they exchanged cellphone numbers months before going to the show, they even organized a lunch before the show -with people that they have never seen before and only know thru the internet. You hear so many stories about the internet that you don’t know who to trust, but here at the NKOTB website people are doing things that in other circunstances would have never even consider doing. And I have met many people sharing the same story, this is the first time they get to go to a NKOTB concert, or a m&g.
To many of us this is a dream come true and then we see you guys are so down to earth, you seam to really care about your fans… we can’t help but love you.

    Thanks NKOTB!

That is a little over board!!! We (well most of us) are grown ass women and they need to know the difference between acting stupid and being civilised. We are not kids and teens anymore!! I am a huge fan of you guys, and I’ll hold onto every minute I’m with you, But I agree that this experience is all about balance. I’ve seen so many girls taking the experience to the extreme and taking the experience away from others. I admit I get right into the show and scream myself hoarse, but I am so excited just to talk to you and meet you face to face without being someone I’m truly not. I look forward to seeing you guys in Calgary. It’ll be my first NKOTB show. :)

I’d also like to say sorry to Jon for some of the fans that have been doing stupid things. I agree with him that the stalking and following the bus is really stupid. Take the face time and hope that you get another chance to go to another show.

    Joey,
Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. I think that some of us just get too caught up in NKOTB world that we tend to lose touch with reality….We do all have lives of our own that need us as well….and it is a little bit of a fantasy for some of us to be in NKOTB world for a while….I have seen some people going a little too far and come close to losing their jobs and their family all for this ride and it is hard for some of us to see how that is worth it….But I also understand how in love some people are with you that it is easy to see how it can happen. I just want everyone to be safe and happy ….I think it just needed to be said and I am glad it has been put out there….I love you…the concert in ATL was the most amazing night of my life….Donnie,,,,,I still need my facetime that you promised….so that means you need to come back to ATL some time in the future because I am not going to chase any buses….I promise LOL :)

I can’t imagine the overwhelming feeling you must get night after night, when you start to come up through that stage, with the screaming and yelling, and all the love you must feel from the adoring fans.
It must be incredible….but scary in all senses of the word.
I know it must be even more difficult when it was this way before, and then it was gone. Now you have your 2nd chance….so YES, you should soak it up.
But with every new adventure comes a challenge, and from what I can see, you are all doing amazing with the challenge!

Keep doing what your doing…….cause you are doing an amazing job

I totally agree with you Joe. I admit this whole journey for us fans has been over-the-top extrodinary and so much fun. And…we tend to get carried away…thats expected, but I think as we are now older and wiser, what you had said hit the right spot. Enjoy it as it comes and let it flow, you guys have given as a gift of appreciation and love that we once felt as young fans. You guys are not going anywhere, so ladies…think about what Joe just told us. Makes a lot of sense. THANK YOU guys for everything… :)

  142. AprilCentral Says:

    Joe,

When you are singing on stage, you have passion. You love being on that stage. You seem like you mean every word, which makes an amazing singer, performer, + entertainer…. No, I am not an american idol judge, although I could be…

Anyway, you should be proud of what you have achieved. You were so young the first time I saw you. But, I remember you had passion back then. When I say you should be proud, I mean that you have not let life take away your feelings. Sometimes life gives us too many downs, and not enough ups to keep us going, and we lose something along the way.

    Love NKOTB for Life.

    Joe,

I completely agree with your post. For me, this whole journey has been incredible. It allows me the chance to relive a part of my childhood I wasn’t able to do at the age of 8. Today, I am thankful for the gift of this reunion, your awesome album, the energy of the 3 incredible shows I’ve been to… etc… I could honestly go on and on. But, at the same time while I am sad and going through withdrawals since my shows have ended for the year I also realize that I need to find balance too. I am hopeful that this journey will continue to go 1 more time.. .but if it doesn’t I will forever be grateful for this one moment in time when for 3 nights I was reminded why I adored you guys for over 20 years!

    Have a great show!

    joey,
it’s funny that you would address that. You are on the other end of this craze.

It has certainly been an amazing experience yet if not handled well it came be become an addiction and a nightmare. That is so not healthy - we can’t just quit our jobs and be groupies - it doesn’t make sense in the real adult world.

Thank you for those words - it shows you guys are in tuned with how this is all affecting your fans. It is important as fans that we stay positive - with a good balance of enjoying all of this and yet continuing to fulfill our responsibilities.

    Long live the Block!

I keep replying to these blog posts of yours, because it makes me so happy to know that your mind is in the right place at this point in time. I remember how chaotic it was back on that original tour in 1999, and I know that although those were special times for all of us, I know that you won’t hold as many memories from that as you will from this. I was coming to those shows just as chaotic inside as you were, reaching for something for all the wrong reasons, and trying to hold on too tightly to it. When I met you this time around, it was clear to me that we were both right there in the moment, just “drinking it up” like you say, and not trying to f*** up that ebb and flow that makes it real. Thank you for teaching me things that nobody else could, with both your music and your life. I’m growing up right along with you, and seeing that you made it through the years that I’m going through now gives me the strength to get up and TRY every day. Thank you for that and so many other things. Keep rockin’ the road hard, this tour is such a special time for all of us!

Thats OK, though, cuz Im DRINKING IT UP! LOL! Thanks for the blog, and could you please give Jonathan a warm hug for me? Hey Joe,
I know you guys tell us “thank you” and you are welcome but I really need to thank you for the sacrafices all of you have made to make this tour as special as it is. I know it must be hard to be away from your families but just look into the eyes of anyone in the crowd and realize that this is for them. We appreciate the long nights on the road, jumping from city to city. This is a crazy roller coaster ride that we are on right there with you. I have seen you guys 2x in the Borgata and I cry because I am able to re-live such a wonderful experience I had when I was younger but with the understanding and appreciation as a woman. There will be ups and downs in anything in life but you just have to go with the flow so “DRINK IT UP”.

    Joe,

I love your blogs. They are so insightful. I am drinking up every minute of this tour and trying not to hold on too tight. After waiting 20 years to finally meet you guys and see you in concert, I am very appreciative of what you are doing for us fans. It disheartens me to hear that there are adults out there who are still acting like teenagers and don’t know when to say when. If we could all enjoy this ride while it lasts and be adult about it, the ride just might last a little longer. I’m hoping it lasts for quite some time, but if it ends soons, then I have my wonderful memories.

Happy Birthday to Griffin! Enjoy every moment you have with your son. They all grow up too fast. It seems just like yesterday my first son was being born. Now he is in Kindergarten and becoming an independent little man. (He and his younger brother are both 2nd generation New Kids fans.)

Hope to see you again next summer!

Joe, well said! Life is truly a journey with the ups and downs. This has been great reliving a big part of my younger years, now that I am a wife and mother of 2 wonderful children. I was at the show in Detroit, MI and it was the best one ever (I have been to every concert you guys performed in Detroit). It gave me the opportunity to feel like I was 17 again when life was simpler in many ways. I have yet to meet any of you but maybe one day. It’s great to see how you all have grown up and seem to be just regular guys enjoying life. Hope you guys have another concert in Detroit. Enjoy Griffin’s First birthday, the time goes by so fast. Mine are already 6 and 3, it seems like yesterday they were born. Keep enjoying the ride, I know we will!

  165. wyshona Says:

you said: drink it up, but you sounded a bit low there in the middle. :( don’t be low. yes, life is a journey, but the highs are what we should look forward to in our lows. and even though you guys are on tour and away from your families for some stretches, you gave me two great nights–one in dc and one in charlotte. i never got to see you guys when i was younger, so this has been amazing for me. at times, i felt like i was 13 again, singing along with you guys in my living room, but then you would sing something off the new album, and i was like: wow! i’m 30, and i’m here at a new kids concert! who can feel those two things, so wonderful and yet extreme in one night? a new kids on the block fan! so, thank you for that. i hope to one day meet at least one of you guys because you all seem like really amazing individuals, in addition to being fantabulous performers. so, cheers!

  166. ASLAMY Says:

First of all I know this was to respond to Joe’s blog but I have to say this first….You few people who are lucky enough to see the tour bus need to STOP TRYING TO RUN OUR BOYS OFF THE ROAD!!! We love them we don’t want them gone!! Think about the fact that they didn’t have to get back together, but they did for us the fans!! You crazy people have to take a chill pill and remember that!! OK now to respond to Joe’s blog. Yes! Drink it up in moderation! Break out the Jack or Jose and lets toast to NKOTB!!!!

  167. nati76 Says:

Hey Joey - it made me a little sad to see the last two blogs from you and Jon and I hope that upon reading them folks learn how to act right (you know, like adults). You five have given us an amazing gift by coming back, and I’m so sorry that some people don’t appreciate that gift and respect you as human beings first and foremost. You have all worked so hard to make this happen and I’m so very happy I got to see you last month in San Jose. I didn’t get to meet you, nor did I attempt to chase you down - it would have been great to be able to say hi if the opportunity arose, but I have so say I was just happy to be in Row 11, singing along at the top of my lungs. I’m ever so grateful to you all for making a dream come true since I never got to go to one of your shows when I was a kid ;)
I love you guys to pieces and I hope that the irresponsibility and lack of prudence of a few don’t affect the rest of us who respect and love you guys.
    We’re drinking it up dahling!
Take care of yourselves and keep keepin’ on!

    My dear Joe:
You are right… life is made out of ups and down, and things need to flow in order to enjoy them the right way… otherwise becomes against us -sometimes.
    I’ve learn that with life…
Its hard not to hold on tight to you guys, because you mean so much, and this tour this is a dream come true… in this crazy and unforgiving world, to live the dream it’s the most exciting and amazing thing we can have.
it make us feel alive again, break free from the routine… be the person we used to be…
Not that we don’t like our lives or the grown up human being we had become, but, you know that as adults, we have some little things that prevent us from do what makes us really happy sometimes… call it responsabilities, call it bills, call it dificulties, whatever it is… and being able to just let go for 1, 2, or whatever times we can afford to just feel free, means a lot…
I personally feel that way. But like you said it’s about balance…
(I know we fans can be very pushy, Lord we sure can be!!, and as for myself I apologyse…)
so here I am, back to real life after my last concert and hoping with all my heart that I can have another chance to see you again in the summer…(pls do!!)
    thanks for your words Joe.
thanks for your time, for your energy, and for giving your best every night!!

As a child, I though my life would never get better.
I was constantly searching for something, someone, to relate to.
So I read. Somehow I came across your stories, so I bought your music.
Finally, your personal stories I could relate to.
I saw someone who came from nothing beat fate.
I saw you transform your worlds, alone, but trust each other.
If you could succeed, so could I.
    As a child I believed.

I got older. I transformed my life, without the fortune and fame, but I found my own way out of the hard life I was destine to live. I left the hard life behind independently, creatively, and strong.

Ur music was simple love songs, catchy beats, xmas carols…
    Ur music was my escape.
When Ur music was playing, I did not have to think about how hungry I was, where my mom was going to live, or what I would become. I believed I would be come more than what people expected.

Now, I hope to make a mark in this world,

Thanks for an amazing night in St. Louis! I was just in awe the entire time. By far the best concert I have ever seen. I don’t know how any other artist’s concert that I attend from now on can even compare. Extremely entertaining–every minute, and if I had to describe it in one word… it was HOT! You’ve stolen my heart again, and it will be a while before I’m back to “normal” again. Have fun in KC tonight. xoxoxoxoxox

    Hey Joey Joe,

What’s shaking my True Love of 1988. I don’t think I’ve already told you or not but once in a good while I’ll drink my Fuzzy Novels. And I really do. For a special reason or just not. So who knows. I know for my 30th birthday in 2 months I’ll probably drink my Fuzzy Novels. One of them! I rarely drink that stuff though. With my age now everyone looks to me like I’m 16 and I’m really not. I’m 29 now going on 30 in 2 months. The month after you’re birthday. YAY! My Birthday is in January though.

MISS YOU AND THE GUYS THOUGH. Plus I miss my FACETIME too.

I have always loved you from afar, since of course I’ve never met you. I was at the Philly concert and I have to say, when I heard tickets were going on sale I called a couple of my friends and they were laughing at me because I wanted to go, so needless to say I didn’t get tickets. A couple weeks before the concert I was joking with my sister in law about wanting to go and she said she’d go just to watch me freak out and laugh at me. Well, she did laugh at me but you know what, she had a great time and we both said it was the best concert we’ve ever been to, she had a friend who practically gave us floor seats. I find myself wanting more also, but I also know I can’t sit at my computer all day on youtube or on google looking up anything and everything that has to do with you and the group, I have a family to take care of and laundry to do, although it isn’t that hard to not want to do laundry……LOL I am so sorry that you guys are experiencing the fanatics again because I know they are out there, I saw them at the concert and I read their comments in the community. That part has to be scary for you because of your family being with you this time around. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting you, one day maybe. I would prefer to meet you by chance though than as your entertainer persona. Thank you so much for touring again, I can not begin to tell you how many emotions I felt during your performances. Please record another solo album, some more Frank preferrably, I posted a few days ago that I would love to hear you sing “Fly Me To The Moon.” Maybe on NKTV…hint hint wink wink…..Take care of yourself and continue to enjoy the ride, you have a long time before everything comes full circle.

    Hey Joe,

I’m glad you are having an awesome time on tour!! Griffin is soo cute!! I would love to see another pic of him!!

Stay Safe, crazy people out there.

I hope that your ups outweigh and outshine your downs to being on that stage. Your fans love you up there. Your fans appreciate you up there. Enjoy the ride - let’s just hope that nothing and no one turns it into a roller coaster ride gone wrong.

Funny, when you say “drink it up” I always picture a cup of water - never alcohol. Then when I read your last line, I realize perhaps there is another meaning that differs to what my non-drinking brain is interpreting. I have been alcohol-free from birth til this 32nd year of my life, and will continue to do so. So, I am proud to say that I can wake up in the morning and remember every bleedin’ moment of this…

I have ups and downs in my life too…but I always try to look forward to something coming up.Right now it is this coming summer and seeing u guys again because I hate winter lol.Love ya Joe!

The feeling is the same for me. I am having a great time remembering life as I grew up with NKOTB and life now. My line of work, teaching, has its own ebb and flow, and not just with the start and end of Summer break.

I do hope however that this summer brings lots of shows to fill my free time!!!!

    Love from MB

  198. ofagenow Says:

    That’s funny, isn’t it bud?
Time goes by and you start to forget the bad. I can imagine how you must feel. I like to joke around with you guys, I tease with my sisters. I say I’ll kidnap on of you and marry you (Jon lol), but I don’t seriously mean it. Some of the fans are a bit creepy…honestly.
I can only imagine how you must feel…it’s one of the reasons that I never dreamed to be famous. I would like to be an author one day :), but def not in your shoes. It takes a tough person to be in them! My bf/exbf/drama thingy, lol, plays the guitar, and that’s it, and even he gets groupies lol…it’s pathetic.
The shows are amazing, and you guys are fun to watch and tease and such…like big teenagers :)
It’s a shame that I got your first show, you seem waaay more crazy now lol. I hope you guys come around again :)
Either way, just remember that crazy fans and stress and such are not the purpose to your tour! Also, even non famous people get weirdos in their lives…weirdos do it to themselves. if they weren’t freaks, we could hang out with them :P lol…right? haha
That said, you’re still Joey…and god knows we love our Joey :) lol

  199. carmoli77 Says:

i am not sure what bus chasers think they will accomplish…I just hope it does not wreck it for the rest of us. if it gets too crazy, things may end quicker than planned. I hope to one day meet you guys all together…but at the same time, nothing would come of it. it’s not like we could be friends who call each other up and talk…etc. nkotb are in the limelight and i hope that this lasts as long as possible. i love the music, the energy and i can’t wait to see my very first live nkotb show…been waiting for this since 1989. i know y’all are just regular ‘joes’ too, y’all have lives that you want to live too…thanks for doing the tour and the album.

Joe…wanted to just tell you that I love all your solo stuff! L.A. Blue is one of my all-time faves…and my kids totally dig the beat of California. I hope with this ride is all over, that you will go back and make us some more music. :).

    Have fun…see ya in Tacoma!

After having read the 2 latest blogs… I wish all of you the utmost safety during the remaining journey you are on during this tour. I have never understood what makes a person act the way some do when it comes to celebrities. Can they not understand that you are people too, and want to have a normal life? I couldn’t even imagine, what it must be like to have people in your face everywhere you go. I commend you all for the way you treat your fans (even the crazy ones). I hope this incident doesn’t cause you to not consider extending the tour into the summer. Good luck and BE SAFE.

    Hey Joe,
I hear ya. I try to be in the moment, but sometime we can get caught up in details and get distracted. I admit I can be on auto pilot sometimes and I even found myself doing that at the meet and greet and the concert. I’m just so excited that I sortof lose sense, ya know? And before I know it the moment is gone or the concert has passed me by. I need to drink it in more. Thanks for the blog Joe. Take care.

But I guess, if I don’t enjoy the moment now…and not worry about what might happen in the future…I won’t truly appreciate it before it’s gone. I love you guys!! It was an awesome experience meeting you in Dallas…I’m the girl with the “interactive t-shirt”…thanks again for the autograph…and I can’t wait to see the show again in Tacoma, WA! I’ll be with my girls and I am going to drink up every minute!! Please don’t ever go away!! LONG LIVE THE BLOCK!!

  210. Katie78 Says:

Believe me when I say that I am soaking up every last second of your return to New Kids! I soaked up every last second the first go around, but was young and silly enough to think that it would last forever! I soaked up every last second when I saw you perform solo at the Baker Ballroom in Dover, NJ from the front row. I soaked up every last second when I met you in NYC at the CD release in September.(unfortunately the 20 year wait made me a total crying mess by the time I got to you to sign my CD!) I soak up every last second of everything you guys do hoping to make sure I will remember every last detail of each encounter. Please let this last for as long as possible. You guys making this return means more to so many of us. I think more then you could ever possibly know!

    Much love,

  211. kelly lynn Says:

Thank you Joey! You are right and I did enjoy every moment! I knew not to let myself get too caught up between the reunion announcement in April and the concert Nov. 1, but it’s been almost 2 weeks and I’m still on Cloud9. It was unbelievable. I’m just so grateful and thankful I was able to be part of it–have Face Time, be in FRONT ROW, and get a hug from each of you–that was priceless to me! To next time. xoxo Kelly

  212. M3vigil Says:

Hi Joe thanks for your words of wisdom. I keep reliving every night of the concert by working on a scrapbook, actually make that two, one for me and one for my daughter. I can’t wait for the summer tour. My sons are very excited because they did’t get to go to this last one. especially my son Jordan. Tell Jon I hope these crazy women chill out, so everyone can have a safe and happy tour.Much love Robin

Thank you. i want to make the most of each second because I know it can end soon. Thank you and all the guys for everything that you do. Your performances and music really touch my heart. Also when you go out of your way to do the little things for your fans because you know it means the world to us. It is so nice! because you dont have to. I cant imagine how tough it must be. A real love hate relationship it must be between the fans. I know I’ll try to be as respectful as possible and keep it real. You guys are people just like us. Im sorry that people do the crazy things they do.

This has meant so much to me to have you guys back. You have no idea!!!! I hope you will continue with this journey where it may take all of you guys…..we WILL be along for the ride!!!!!!

Anyway, thank you all for the wonderful journey around The Block. It’s an amazing experience we won’t soon forget. (Please let it last a little longer!)

Hope to see you guys on a Summer Tour, but if not, thanks so much for the opportunity to see you all live in concert…I waited 20 years for that moment, and it was worth the wait! DALLAS ROCKED!!!!

    Hey Joe
ive never responded so late to your blog before but i forgot my password…guess i wasn’t meant to respond then. oh well, since you won’t be reading this i can just let my thoughts out…i tend to babble. ANYWAY I didnt get to respond when i first read jon and your blogs. ended up getting so distracted with life, however i was watching Kung Fu Panda…when the turtle said something that reminded me of this blog…
“you must treat today like a gift, that is why it is called THE PRESENT”

The past two months that i’ve immersed myself in NKOTB have been nothing less that phenomenal!! And upon our return from our NKOTB roadtrip we were still on cloud nine all weekend! But today, i realized its now time to get my mind right for reality as i discovered somethings that were necessary for my return to work since my injury had not been done and had to rush to complete it! our roadtrip wasn’t even done when we began talking bout prepping for a summer tour! But after reading Jon’s near death experience blog and yours i started realizing some things. you guys still have so many more shows to do and if ppl aren’t careful there may not be another chance this summer! Its awesome that y’all came back to us and we got spend this time with you but we also gotta treat this like the amazin gift that it is…enjoy it, cherish it, savor every moment as it comes. As i’m txting my cousin as i type this we’re also discussing the importance of balance and how we kinda forgot about that…you are so amazing its easy to see how we forgot other things we did pre-nkotb reunion(painting, poetry, anime, learning guitar)…but again youre so amazing your blog brought it all back!! how do you do that??
yes i would love to see y’all again this summer but that’s 8 mths away, right?
    oops…there i go babbling again….anyway..

i thank you so much for you wonderful blog, i thank you so much for bringing so many opportunities and memories these past two months(i will always cherish you lil hipbump in an attempt to catch my attention…as if my not saying hi to you was something significant, made me feel important!), and thank you…and to Jon, for bringing the reality of things back to my life!

I have so appreciated the comeback. I have held you all in my heart for years. I thank you all for giving us all you got. I pray for a continuous flow of blessings upon each of you spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Please tell Jon that I am sorry to hear about his incident with the bus. I know none of your fans would intentionally want to hurt any of you. I am glad that Jon kept it real & said it like it had to be said. We all know how Princess Diana passed on the account of paparazzi in a car accident. Even though fans aren’t the same as paparazzi, it still poses the same danger. I hope they get the message. Joe, I hear what you are saying about the highs and lows of everyday. Being a single mother I have plenty of them. I was at the Mohegan Sun show and you guys rocked. You rock at every show. I am so sad that I am out of tickets and even more sad that I have never had the opportunity to have face time with you. I’ve been a fan since you were a little boy with the first album. Keep on truckin and your fans will follow. You guys rule - hope another tour is in the works so I can see you again and maybe get to even meet you.

So It’s 1 am…KCMO, sitting on the 22nd floor of the Hyatt Regency with a perfect view of downtown KC. Just relaxing after the concert. Gotta say…it was hot and well worth the wait!!!!!! Right now I can see the sprint center and it looks like one of the 18 wheelers has just pulled away. I waited for a bit at the gate to catch a glimpse but I didnt’ get to see one of you. Disappointed as we were hoping for “face time” with Donnie. So the question is…are you in town staying or did you go on to Omaha….guess we’ll never know. BUT…the show was absolutely wonder…you all still got it. Don’t stop know. Can’t wait for the next one. Love you all!

  240. edenhig Says:

I’m just so happy that you guys are ok! Jon, I would have been shi**ing my pants too, if I had been in that bus! Sadly, there are adults out there, who only think of themselves, and do not realize the consequences of their actions. In trying to get close to you, they really can hurt you, and themselves. I really hope that post makes those people think before they act next time.
Joe, getting up and going to work the next day can be the hardest thing, especially after a real low, but everyday brings new experiences. So we need to get up and find out what they are. Like you said life is all about highs and lows, ups and downs. You can have everything one day, and the next its gone. One thing I’ve learned though is that the lows are what make the highs that much better! I love you guys… I hope yall stay safe!

And as we can not comment on Jons Block… I am shocked that adults really still acting that way. They are plain dump…

Thanks…I really needed this blog, you seem to really have a way with words. I have been back in reality world for a few weeks, but I get one more chance to “drink it up” when I see you guys in California, starting with the AMA’s, then the concerts!

As you all say, “Let’s do this!!!”……you as the wonderful performer that you are and me and the others as the devoted fans we are. This is truly a wonderful second chance to enjoy some wonderful and amazing times.

    Much Love,

  252. Lintelomiel Says:

    Yo Joe!

I’m going to drink it up Feb. 3rd in Amsterdam.. you bet I will! Though, I don’t have to go to work the next morning… got myself 2 days off JUST FOR YOU GUYS!!!
And to take the drink-it-up really literal… Joe, you SHOULD drink it up.. and not SPILL it on the golfcar… Really lost your balance there, did ya? LOL.. You’re all a bunch of crazy men! (but still too cute)

    Now, get serious Pet!
Life is full of ups and downs.. you learn to cope with every down along the way. Big or small. Though, some are a bit harder than others. Been there, done that. Some keep lingering, but I can’t escape them, they’re just here to stay… forever… and that sucks big time. (My mom and sis have MS, which has been a huge weight on my shoulders for the past 13 years, and still is)

So I told myself: Take it easy and try to go with the flow… Embrace, fully enjoy and remember the good moments. You’ll be fine then… And yes, let go of the rope for a while if you don’t have the strength anymore and get your rest in time!
YOU SHOULD DO THAT TOO! We don’t want you to boil over from all the tension this whole tour brings along.
We want you to have fun too! Nothing more, nothing less.
    ENJOY THE RIDE!
Love, kisses and a warm hug

Very well said, Joe. We do need a balance. It’s so surreal to think you guys feel the same way about all of this as we do. I think we understand each other now. It’s very cool. I am truly trying to enjoy every minute of this. It has been amazing. I’ve been to 3 shows, including STL Monday night. You guys keep getting better & better. I apologize for the crazy few that are ruining this for the rest of us. It’s a shame that grown women act that way.

I was 5* with my friend, April, Monday night & all of you were so kind and gracious and funny! We had an amazing time. Thank you so much.

Your come-back tour has been a great success. You guys look amazing and sound amazing and should all be very proud of yourselves. I saw you guys in Toronto and it was a great show! We all had a lot of fun and I have the utmost respect for all of you. I can’t imagine that someone would be so selfish as to put not only your lives in danger but their own as well as anyone else that was on the road that day. I would like to apologize on behalf of all your fans and hope that you don’t hold it against us all- that ones who are sensible and responsible.
You guys are great! Keep singing and stay safe!

    Hi Joe
Hope that your ok and doing well!!! missing you all very much and can not wait for Jan as you will be over here in the UK.

I was reading Jons near death experience… Hiliarious!!! but true! I can’t stop laughing of the image that i have in my head of fans leaning out of the window with cameras…

Just a quick question! how come that there are hardly any pictures, billboards of you guys in London? and also your songs are not being played on the radio? WHY???? AND how come your not on TV??? WHY???? it seems that your all over the USA and not a picture in sight in the UK. HOW COME??? I know that you are touring in the States, but a picture of you all in London won’t go a miss!!

    HANG TOUGH!
    love and hugs

  265. Sally Johnson Says:

WOW! I was gone for 2 days and missed much. But it’s ok, I went with my sister to your concert in St. Louis. We took a detour and picked up another sister to surprise her with a ticket. 17.5 hours roundtrip just to see you all, but it was worth it. (Thank goodness for the low gas prices) YA’LL SOUNDED AMAZING!!! I’m still in shock from actually seeing you all. Somebody pinch me.

I have a picture of you looking at me. I walked as close as i could get to the piano stage and soaked you all in and took pictures. Last night after I got home and put my 2 kids to bed, I looked at my ticket (to make sure it wasn’t a dream) and saw where no cameras were allowed. Really sorry… I was so excited to be there, I didn’t even notice.

I had really wanted to get Donnie’s auto. for my 6yr old son who thinks Donnie is so cool. When he sees a pic of the group, he always asks which one is Donnie. But I knew there was a 1 in a million chance of that happening. I will hold on tight to the memory of seeing the only celebs in the world that I would ever wish to see.

Thanks for the memories, excitement, break from everyday routine, and thanks to your families for their sacrifices.

  266. luvmoo1126 Says:

joey…..we are so glad that our boys are back together. but please don’t let the negative fans bring you down. i admit, i too like to drink it up and party, but i also know when it is time to stop. unfortunately, we all now live in a world where it is okay to have no self control, where you can treat anyone the way you want to treat them, say anything you want to say to them, and without ever really facing the fact that we are now adults. there is a point in our lives where we all need to grow up, but some people reach that point when it is too late. “”do unto others, as you would have done unto you.”

Reliving memories and making new ones…thank you for giving that to us. You are all fantastic performers. I loved every second of last night’s show and only wish I could attend every concert for the entire tour! (Alas, real life calls).

I hope that you do more movies, you look awesome as an actor. Not like an actor at all, but you are the person you’re playing…not an actor playing the part. Looks like one of the Wahl-e bros is in it with you…is Robert playing a part in this movie? I am excited and can’t wait to see the whole thing. :)

    Hi Joe,
I was at the St Louis show with the 5* M&G. I’m the lady with long black hair in the wheelchair with a cast on my hand. I had the best time of my life that show. You were all so sweet at the M&G. I can still see the expression on your face when you came up to me. It was pure sweetness & when I said it was my 4th show & how great you were & you said I was great about me, I heard the sincerity of your appreciation for the love the fans are showing all of you. Wishing to get to meet everyone I had to move on but I would have told you that it’s such a circle of love between NKOTB & their fans that we’ll ALWAYS be ready to support you each & every time you come back to us. All of your solo careers have been wonderful to follow but there’s just nothing like the 5 of you when you’re blended all together. My face still hurts from smiling & it’s the 3rd morning after the show!
I drank it all in & I’ll savor it FOREVER….Of course I’m hoping for more so please come back to the US again. I’m from Milwaukee & also go to Chicago shows. Please make this summer hotter than ever ;). Love you all, Gail

I have been feeling the same way with you guys, just being in the audience. Feeling the music, just taking it all in, with each note that you sing. Sometimes I just stand there with my hands over my heart, a huge smile on my face, and a twinkle in my eye.

I love you guys! NKOTB will always have my heart!!!!

By the way, I met you guys in KC Tuesday night. Me and my “twin” wearing the Celtics Jersey (#13), and I had what Jordan called, a hamburger on my underpants. (by the way, tell Donnie sorry about that if it offended him - it was meant to be funny.)

The show was great, Joe, you and Jordan were ON! We drove the 8hrs home and are still smiling today.

As you were posting this…I was getting ready to “drink it up” at the KC show and the pre-show party. I’ve been a huge fan since I was in kindergarten after the “five hardest kids in show business” appeared on a music awards I was hooked! Over the years I’ve bought the solo CDs (including the exclusive limited online version of Stay the Same…before it hit stores)and supported your individual dreams. When my friends would tease me I would simply say “they may not be together, but I support their individual careers…Jon is the best damn real estate agent ever!” :) This reunion has been awesome and I am so thankful I got to be apart of it. I wish you continued success on your tour and I want you to know that I am still drinking it up every time I look at my pics from the show (praise the Lord for digital cameras!). Take care and God bless!

    Joe-
You Are So Right about DRINKING IT UP! I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet you guys (which I froze up in doing so.. it was so surreal) and I have to say that my “drug” of choice is NKOTB! You guys give me such a HIGH being at your shows… I was able to do the 5 Star VIP in Atlantic City in Sept. then able to come to the November show(regular tix, VIP’s were unavailable) because my Husband is so incredible… I flew across country both times from New Mexico to go with my girlfriends in Jersey. Wish you all didn’t cancel the Albuquerque show… next time… do it at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho (right next to Albuquerque) PLEASE?!

But back onto the subject of Drinking It UP! Both shows were absolutely incredible and love that you guys are keeping it real… having fun… makes you want to be up on stage with you guys goofing it up at times… (forgetting words, messing up dancesteps) Its all great… that shows you are only human… and we love you for it all! Keeps the memories even better. I know the highs and lows when you want more… believe me if I could follow you guys on tour I would… my priorities are my family.. I have 2 sons… my oldest about to be 4 on your Birthday- New Year’s Eve… and my youngest is 15 months. I thank god that I have had the opportunity to see you guys in concert… and if by chance you do a summer tour… count on me being at one concert! Hopefully close to home for me this time….
    Drink it up Joe…

    Hi Joe.
This is Kristy from STL. When you speak of the good and bad, I can only hope that you were not in a bad mood after leaving St. Louis. We absolutely were thrilled to be on your tour schedule and had the best time that evening.
I am not sure if you are aware (because your windows are tinted), but my friend and I were the ones in the white mini-van that “accidentally” escorted you out of the city as you headed towards KC.

We stood in the very cold rain (with open-toed shoes…YIKES)all night waiting for you all to leave…just hoping that you would all come out and greet the fans. All we hoped for was a picture. Sadly, after the last bus left they told us you guys were all gone, so my friend and I waddled (our feet were so freakin numb!) to the car. We sat there by the garage bus exit for a while so that we could warm up and get feeling back into our toes and fingers. We decided to do one last loop and take in the memory and we got stopped by one of your crew guys (who REALLY liked to talk…zzzzzzzzz). ANyways, we were finally able to get away from that guy so we were headed back home. After all, it was 2am and we had husbands and babies at home….back to reality. When were went to get on the highway we were stuck behind a VERY slow bus. We at first figure it was a crew bus that couldn’t find his way to the highway. We kind of joked to each other that it was you guys because we knew you had a baby on your bus. We had figure you were gone by then though. So, with it raining so badly I decided to stay behind the bus on the hwy so I could see the lines on the road. It wasn’t until later that we finally decided we could pass the bus safely. As we started to my friend noticed a sign on the door of the bus…and it was signed “The Macs”. We were so excited! We couldn’t believe that we had actually been following you down the highway. We did take a pic of the sign to prove to people that we didn’t make this story up. I was driving but made Christine hold the wheel so I could get a good pic. I did it from farther behind so that the flash wouldn’t effect the driver. We knew you had to get going, but we gave it our best effort and waved at the driver to pull over because we were going to Waffle House and wanted ya’ll to join. He smilled and waved. He said sorry and pointed on down the hwy…telling us he had to get you guys to your destination. We understood…we just couldn’t go home that night without giving it a good try. We contemplated driving along behind you to KC. It was a fun thought, but after we realized we are not crazy people and that we have out babies at home that it would not be the best idea. So, sadly we got off at our exit and waved and honked goodbye to you as you went to your next stop. Your driver was so gracious..he turned on the cabin lights to give us a sweet wave and smile. Thank him for us, because that made the whole experience more enjoyable. He could have been irritated and dismissed us, but he was very sweet.
Christine and I talked about it after we saw your blog and Jon’s blog the next day. We were really concerned that you thought we were following you on purpose and trying to be a pain in the a$$ like some of the CRAZY fans that follow you from city to city. We didn’t want to be the reason that you didn’t have an enjoyable experience in our city. We just felt like we were somehow “rewarded” for being the last 2 people to leave the show that night to “escort” you our of our city. It was the highlight of our night.

By the way. I did speak to your wife. She was walking your dog and on her way back in I peered over the top of the tunnel to ask her if she was your wife. She smiled very sweetly and said “yes”. Even though I am happily married I told her that she was a very lucky girl and she graciously said “thank you”. If I was a crazy fan I would have asked her if we could come down to meet you (because I have ALWAYS been a Joey girl), but I let her go on back to you guys. I know how valuable family time is because my husband works a lot as well and I get very jealous when people take his time from us…so I get it.

Anyways, long story…so sorry. We had a blast at the show and wish we could do it again because it went by so fast. You guys really rocked that place hard! I haven’t danced that much since my wedding day 6 years ago! Best of luck to you in your new journey and I hope that the CRAZY fans don’t ruin this for you. Hopefully they will chill out because we don’t want you guys to dissappear anytime soon! We LOVE the new music!!! Even my 3 year old constantly asked me to turn on “the Turn it up now song” and “Full Service”. He sings it too…adorable!

Much love and respect. Kristy from St. Louis

Hey Guys-This is Michelle from HOTLANTA borrowing my girl Christy’s email. Thanks for an awesome concert October 29th & for everything yall do. Made me wanna break out my old NSP shirt from Uncle Jack’s on the corner back home & represent. I used to make some trips to Dorchester in the early 90s to visit Joe Gately & his family (all Js-crazy). I really got the feel of how close yall are back home in the hood. He was the sweetest, he took me & my family in like he’d known us forever. They loved my southern accent even though they gave me crap about it. I’d love to get together with yall & trade stories, any place, any time. If yall want a home cooked meal or place to hang out, yall are welcome at my house in ATL, GA. anytime. As always keep it real I’m enjoying the love-Michelle

    Joey Mac,

You are so right. Life is all about the ups and downs.

You truly have A LOT to be thankful for this year. The new baby boy (CONGRATULATIONS BTW, he is adorable!) and now being able to do a tour with your “4 brothers”. You can tell how much you all enjoy being back together and being on the stage again. I am soooooooooooo happy for all of you!

You all deserve all the success you are having this year. I’ve been a fan for 20 years. We’ve had our ups and downs too throughout those twenty years. Throughout, those 20 years you all have had a special place in my heart. I can’t thank you enough for coming back together. I think we both needed it.

It really is important to enjoy every moment and soak it all in. Keep soaking it all in!

    Love, Heather Morgan (hlmorgan22@gmail.com)

FACE TIME! FACE TIME! FACE TIME!

My friend and I saw you in Cleveland, OH in October and could not wait to see you again after 15 years, so we bought tickets and planned a road trip from Columbus, Ohio to Uncasville, Connecticut; a 24 hr roundtrip. You sexy hotties posted a video blog before the tour began. My sweet dream, Donnie, said in the video, “This is how you get “FACE TIME!” And then introduced, Zak, whose face I embedded in my brain for the following months. Donnie said to find Zak, because he would get us backstage. I called my friend up and told her to remember this guy, no matter what we do and I reminded her whenever we spoke about the NKOTB. After we arrived at Mohegan Sun Arena, we decided to be bold. Anyone who looked like someone important, we spoke to, and kept our eyes out for Zak as Donnie had instructed. We sat a level above the floor and finally saw Zak during the middle of the show. I could not believe my eyes! He was clearly busy at that point, so we did not bug him. After the show, we waited around a bit and were feeling down about not seeing Donnie’s dude again and then, Wham! There was Zak, heading directly towards us, so I went up to him and said, Hi, Zak! Donnie specifically said to talk to you, while grinning from ear to ear and my heart pounding out of my chest. Zak’s reply was roughly, “Not now, I am working” and pushed past us abruptly, nearly spinning me around. I want to state that I completely understand what it is like to be diligently working and then be interrupted. I am sure Zak has tons and tons of hyped up 31 year old women bothering him to get at the New Kids, but I was truly crushed. I had scorched Zak’s face in my brain for months before this concert. I did my part of the deal like Donnie said. Regardless, we drove home while singing, smiling and crying (happy crying) to the New Kids CDs. DONNIE, I might be 60 by the time I finally get to meet you, but I am still getting my KISS! (Damn, I hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I just needed to get my story out to someone, even if no one ever lays an eye on this comment.

    Hey Joey,

I just saw the ‘after show get down’ video & all I could think was ‘OMG…’. hahaha. Screaming like that is fine DURING the concert…after the concert right in your face, not that cool (but that’s my opinion).
Anyway…what I really wanted to say: i’ve been having this feeling (call it my sixth sense) about something. If I’m right can I just say: Yay! I’m so happy for you. And you’ll probably know what I’m talking about if my gut feeling is on the right track. If you have no clue … well, then I clearly shouldn’t quit my dayjob, hahaha. Something said on the video makes me think I might be right though … ;-).
    Take good care,

    Big Hug,

Finally the day I have been waiting for since I was just 10 years old finally happened on Friday November 14, 2008!!! I will never forget meeting all of you in Broomfield but most of all I will never forget meeting you Joe and getting the biggest hug EVER! I am rather pregnant and even considered not fulfilling my dream of meeting you but thankfully you really are as sweet as I had hoped and was not disappointed. There are only two thing in my life that will supercede this event. The birth of my son and my wedding day to the greatest man in the world. Not only did he pay for my ticket (5 star VIP), he took half a day off work so that I could go get pampered before the show, then he and my 3 year old son drove me to Broomfield and hung out for 7 hours waiting to pick me up from the show! I once again just wanted you all to know that this is special to each and every one of us in our own way and your families sacrifice is our gain. Please thank them for me and all your other fans! I know I will never forget this and hope they don’t either.—–Rebecca

    Hi Joey!!

I met you on November 18/08 in Edmonton, AB CANADA at Rexall Place!! I ran out of time in the meet & greet & only had time to shake your hand & introduce myself. I also showed you my newspaper clipping from when you guys played here in Edmonton the first time on November 1/1990 and you said that it was in “pristine” condition :). I am SO grateful to have met you and wished that I had more time to chat with you!! I regret not following you guys to Calgary, AB the following night!! I am currently looking for a way to meet you guys again as my first time was TOO SHORT and my nerves were getting the best of me!! I’m highly anticipating you all coming back, not only that, I am prepared to attend any & all solo concerts if any of you continue on that path as well!! I’m still in a “high” after Tuesday’s concert & now I can’t imagine you guys not being around again, I think it would hit all your fans harder this time since the 15 year absense made our hearts grow even fonder for you all. I think I speak for all of us when I say: WE CAN’T BE WITHOUT NKOTB AGAIN!!! PLEASE DON’T GO AWAY EVER AGAIN!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Now here’s what I really wanted to say but was so star struck that my nerves decided otherwise how things were going to go… LOL:

THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK, IT IS AN HONOR & TRUE PLEASURE TO HAVE MET YOU ALL. (well most of you, I missed Danny *sniff sniff*).

So I say it now with the greatest of gratitude and utmost joy in my heart. I truly am blessed to be a fan that has come in full circle with you all.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU & HUGS FOR ALL!!

I’ll be loving you NKOTB FOREVER!!

P.S. I was the oriental girl with the glasses that was wearing the white ringer t-shirt that said in black letters: “B is for BLOCKHEAD”

    LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
