We were at the venue early in Chicago
And there was a swap meet going on in the parking lot, so to kill time
I looked around. And what did I come upon, but “us”. The woman who was
selling “us”, at first had no idea and then I asked her, “Did you ever
think that I would be the guy buying “me”?” We had a laugh about this
surreal moment. Nice to know that we are playing the arena and not
just getting sold off at a swap meet.
-jm
P.S. I decided to just sign mine in hopes that she could make a couple
of extra bucks on them. (Donnie apparently quit the Swap Meet Boys
because he felt like a piece of merchandise).

Just got back from the Cleveland show. You guys were amazing! I couldn’t imagine what you all meant when I kept hearing all the hype on your blogs–about giving it your all, etc. It’s just a concert, right? Wrong. It was more than I could have expected–and you did give it your all. Thanks for putting in so much hard work and effort. I loved every moment! Your new music is so much more than I ever expected. What a night–nostalgic and new all in one show! Enjoy it!

So I’m not sure anyone will actually read this, but I was at the show in Cleveland last night, and let me tell you, it was the best night of my life.
You’d think that after dreaming about it since I was 10, I would’ve been disappointed…after all, you can only build things up so much before your expectations exceed reality.
But you know what?
It met my expectations and then so much more. It was incredible.
I love you guys! Just for what it’s worth, and it may not be worth much since you guys have millions of fans, you made a woman’s dream into reality last night.
You are amazing, all of you…especially you, Jonathan! I’ve been your girl since I was a little girl, and now that I’m a woman, I’m still your girl at heart. No words can describe just how much I love you all.
Thank you so much for letting us know you were still there. Many of us have had rough times, and you stayed there, right with us. We love you, We love you, We LOVE YOU!!!!!

Hey Didnt NWA Have A Song That Said Something About The Swap Meet?
October 4th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
That’s cute. Bet that lady felt kind of funny about the whole thing. Seeing the dolls made me want to mention, that my daughter got into my old box of NKOTB stuff in the garage and found your doll, Joe. You’re now living in a Barbie house.
See you in St. Louis.
Love,
Leigh Ann
October 4th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
What’s more amusing: the blog, the picture or the fact that the Jon doll is the only one that still has his shirt?
Thanks for the update Joe Mac!

Wow, I bet that woman wanted to just die when she saw that you were walking by and she was selling your dolls. Thanks Joe for keeping us posted and sharing things with us along the way. I love the clip of you with being a great daddy. It makes me love you even more that you guys have included your families in this whole experience. Looking forward to seeing you guys in concert on 11/7 Atlantic City.
October 4th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Nobody else can do an immpromptu blog post quite like you.
You know what’s funny–I went to something similar today and bought a purse made from the sleeve of a demo record of The Right Stuff. Of all the NKOTB merch I’ve owned in my life, I never thought I’d have a purse. lol
A nice piece of retro cool… kinda like you. Hope Cleveland and Chicago were both fantastic. Wish I could have been there, but I’ll see you in Detroit!
October 4th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
I KNEW I should have checked out that swap meet while I was there, darnit! I wonder if anyone bought you!
October 4th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Hey Joe,
Just be thankful they didn’t make you into bobble heads like NSYNC! Didn’t get to see you all because Grad School has left me bankrupt..jk ;p. If you do come to Buffalo, I will so be there! Thanks for the reunion, it brought back a really happy and innocent time for me! Before deadlines and adulthood!!!
Peace Out

Hi Joey…. Great show on Long Island!!! I can’t stop listening to your new songs. I make all my associates at work listen all day long, over and over, and make them laugh when I blurt out crazyness over Donnie. Seems that you hit the blog more often than he does. Can you do me a favor??? Can you please tell Donnie to read my message under his September blog? It’s pretty hot message. Kept it as clean as possible being on a public forum, but I think he’ll get a very clear picture of where I’m coming from. I’m near the bottom. Holy Hotness…He’s my “go to guy” when I’m not at the “full service” station if you know what I mean. I want to know, that he knows just how much his music “touches” me. Just typing this is getting me in the mood ….again. You know, to listen to some songs and…Anyway, like I said, great show at Nassau coliseum couple weeks ago and give Donnie D xoxoxox from Jonesbeach.
October 4th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Love the new album! I’m driving my old man nuts listening to it but atleast it put me in the mood to get some grown man from him
I missed you in Toronto and I bought a ticket- I moved out of town but I want to catch you in Detroit!! I’ve seen most of the concert on YOutube and I want it live. I love the baby an dswayze reference but I ownder if the young ones understand. Who cares.. you’re for us the 26 to thirty somethings. I’m 27 and I’ve spent more time with you guys than most of the closest people in my life. I’ve been with you since 86. And Donnie was that popsicle could be someones favorite song- I WAS 6 K! Love the new album and I can’t wait to meet you guys and get some face time. Please keep showing up cause I will if you do. And f$&& the critics they never got the relationship between us and you anyways. Thanks again for coming back- Made my year a little brighter.
October 4th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Now that is hilarious! Can’t wait to see you in L.A.
Love,
Irene
October 4th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Too funny! I have the two Joey dolls sitting in my bed room right now. LOL. My daughter took the hat off of chillaxed Joey and put it on my one cat. OMG. He looks so cute in it too! I gotta upload that pic onto here now I think!
October 4th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
I had Jordan’s doll. I have looked frantically for it but it is MIA. I just saw your Cleveland show and am still recovering. I was one of the one’s who waited 2 hours for you to leave the arena, surrounded your tour bus and then chased you 4 or 5 blocks. That and getting Danny’s (I think it was Danny - it was dark ) water bottle during the show has made up for the 15 years I’ve waited for this moment. Love you guys!!
October 4th, 2008 at 7:49 pm
you know - with all of the crazy unexpected coincidences that have happened this year - they are starting to not affect me anymore.
seriously. had this happened any other tme i would be like, “wow - that’s some crazy shit” but now? chalk this one up for the rest of the stories (even though you weren’t there for the craziest coincidence of them all you were filled in eventually)
see you soon you damn goof!
(you know i love you anyway)

October 4th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
That’s hilarious!! I still have the stage for the dolls if the Swap Meet Boys want to put on a show. I can’t tell you how many Donnie dolls I have. Everytime someone who hasn’t known me forever finds out that I like you, they show up with their old dolls like I didn’t buy them all myself back in the day.
I’ll bet whoever owned those dolls has kids because my little one is always taking the clothes off my plush dolls. I’m all for a nude Donnie in my room but I finally had to put the darn things up. Crazy!!
I see alot of love from the Detroit girls on here. You should stop by and see us before you head back to the West Coast. I couldn’t wait til Oct 25th though. I saw you in Toronto and was BLOWN AWAY!!! The show exceeded all my expectations!! And I’ll see you next weekend in Vegas too. I can’t wait to get my next fix.
Much Love and Kisses,
Shiela

Hi Joe - thanks for the note. Good luck to the seller but I don’t know if people will believe you came by to sign the doll.
On my way home from seeing Madonna in concert. She was spectacular, of course, but it didn’t beat the show I saw there in Izod on 9/23. Can’t wait to see it again at MSG 10/27!
Stay healthy out there.
Love,
Katie xx

You guys are back and better than ever. It’s on! Thanks for bringing back so many fond memories! You guys, no, men, are just the same as TWENTY years ago. Fame hasn’t jaded you or made you pretentious, that is amazing.
It’s refreshing to know that you all appreciate the dedication of your fans. It’s so FANTASTIC to know that us fans are appreciated and the reason you work so hard to put on a great show!
Keep on keepin’ on and keep drinking it up!

October 4th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Okay, so first off Joey, this is the perfect example of why you guys have remained number 1 in all of our hearts for so long. You are classy, and great to us fans. By signing that doll, that just shows a level of appreciation for your fan base.
Now for my theory on why the dolls are only half dressed…She was trying to send you a message…Take off your shirts during the show! We love you guys, and we know how hard you have worked to make this reunion happen. All that work has paid off in more ways than one…let’s see those muscles!!
3 days and counting to L.A.!!
Peace, Love and New Kids 4 ever!

You guys are something else! I just saw you in Cleveland and you rocked the house!! Thank you for all of the great memories! The last time I saw you was during the Magic Summer Tour (we all know how long ago that was). What makes you guys so special is that you really do appreciate your fans - you always have - and you show that in the performance you give! Well, we appreciate you, too!!
Anyway, have a great time on tour, take care, and be safe!
Love Ya,

I am new to your site, but I MUST commend you ALL on the show tonight in Chicago.
Never in my life have I seen such intense performances.
You all never missed a step. It’s like you never took time off from each other.
In my many years of concerts, I have to say that this was HANDS DOWN the best concert I’ve ever seen. NKOTB are TRUE performers and I can’t wait to see you again.
Maybe I’ll drive back up to Chicago at the end of October if I get the time off from work. I’m definitely going to work on that one!!
I’ve loved you since the late 80’s and I will NEVER stop loving you.
Keep up the INCREDIBLE work, guys!
You all look incredible…if you don’t mind me saying, even better than you did 15 years ago!!!

Hello, my name is Diane Lucas and I am from Buffalo, NY. My 2 girlfriends (Lisa Hiede and Stephanie Vampotic) and I drove from Buffalo to Cleveland friday to see your show at the Quicken Arena. Just like everyone else, it has been a dream of ours to be at a NKOTB concert. We have never been so excited. We have been fans since we were 10. We purchesed the tickets online (section 100 row 11 seats 5,6,7) and also booked a room at the Hilton Gardenview. Everything from our car ride to the concert went just as planned. We felt like the luckiest women on the face of the earth. We watched Natasha’s act and she was great. During intermission my friends went to use the ladies room and came back to the seats just as your act started. The intro to the show had just started and we were standing up and cheering and Stephanie started to feel dizzy so she sat down. about 10 seconds into the show, I looked at her and her head was tilted back and he eyes were rolling around. I held onto her head and felt for a pulse and I felt nothing. I ran for the EMT’s and It took guite a while for them to get to her. While in the first aid the EMT’s shocked her heart at 200 volts and they rushed her to the Cleveland Clinic hospital (unit G 20 cardiac care) and told us that she had a heart attack. As of right now (sunday Oct 5 @ 9:58 am) she is the same as when they brought her into the hospital. She is unresponsive and is in a coma. I have never been so scared in my life. All i can think of and visualize is her eyes as I was holding her head and feeling for a pulse. Please pray for her, I don’t know what to do if I am to loose my best friend of 20 years. She is only 27 (turning 28 on the 20th of this month) and too young to die! The next time you sing Please don’t go girl, please sing it for Stephanie, she could really use it and it would mean alot to all of us.
Thank you,
Diane Lucas

October 5th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Funny how life works out sometimes. I bet 15 years ago she never thought she would be selling those dolls, let alone to one of the guys lol Have you ever read any of the Godwinks books? (SQuire Rushnell) It’s also weird to think I was 15 the first time I heard of them in 1988, and that’s about the same amount of time that has passes since they were last popular as a group. I had a lot of stuff become lost(stolen) about 10 years ago, including all of my New Kids stuff (except for a book and a pink comforter). Now I wish I had a few of the things to give to my 3yo also. However, I have decided I will not get back into that ‘gotta have that cause it’s nkotb’ thing again. It’s just merchandise with a name and photo…material things. That was crazy back then lol. I wonder how much debt my Mom had from that. And I didn’t even keep the stuff til I had kids of my own. Oh, and no more 10 page letters from me to the guys about nothing (or marriage) lol. The first time around I didn’t get tickets in time when they played at a local high school (1988 or 89), some months later had my Dad take me to a concert at a state fair a few hours away, that I didn’t have tickets for(watched from outside a chain-link fence)and the car broke down. But I was able to see the stage (but not a close-up view). I guess some of the seats inside were almost as far, so at least I had that. That whole decade I think I was obsessed with the guys and with the merchandise. I don’t like them any less, but we have all grown, and I’m not going to get into the craziness this time around. If God allows me to meet any of them, he will allow it without me trying to go into debt lol The farthest we travel right now is to Columbus, since we live in WV (Columbus is about 2-3 hours). And if I don’t meet any of them this time around, I will just wait til next time. Another thing I have learned is if I want something, and God says I can have it, he gives it to me when it’s the right time, without too much effort on my part. You can try and try as hard as you want for something, but if you don’t do things the right way you will either not get what you want, or you will get a lesser version of it than what God would have given had you done things the right way.
Sorry this is so long! Well, the dogs are awake and needing out…(mature grown-up stuff lol)So I should get priorities straight and get off the nkotb blog lol
>:D< that’s towards that million hugs thing, since I probably won’t see any of the guys in person any time soon …
Sherry

Just wanted to say that i was at the oct 3rd concert and it was great. I like to say how sry i am that Danny lost his mom to breast cancer. I have a aunt who is a survier of breast cancer and I think its wounderful that he and all of you are taking part in that. I look forward to many more concerts and good luck to all of you.

October 5th, 2008 at 10:45 am
That’s hilarious!!! You are very kind to sign it and up the resale value. You rock!
October 5th, 2008 at 11:01 am
Joe, although it is a little humorous i have to agree with Donnie. Having a
mini swap meet, it just doesnt seem very classy. I have held on and
treasured all my stuff since i was 12, and there is no way in hell i would
sell any of it! Some things dont have a price tag on it and cant be bought.
I have had many memories with all my stuff and thats worth more than any
amount of money. That said i cant wait for my concerts to come up and i will
be wearing my buttons with no price tag on it.
Much love

Hey guys ~ saw you last night (Oct 4) in Chicago - all I can say is WOW!! You blew me away, I am still hoarse and can’t hear anything - so worth it!! It was amazing, there are truly no words. It was a DREAM come true for me and my friend Jamie, who I became friends with due to our love of New Kids! We are also going to be at the Oct 24th show in Chicago - can’t wait! Who would have thought Joe would happen upon a Swap Meet to buy himself lol The woman, I’m sure, got a pretty penny when the fans started showing up for the show there. It was nice of you to sign yourself
That sounds too funny

Joey -I got your doll for my 9th or 10th birthday. It was the only gift I asked for, so you can imagine how happy I was. Then tragedy struck and my younger cousin broke you an hour later; I cried for a week.
I never did get a new Joey doll….. Meeting you in person could correct the years of pain.
Loved you in Cleveland Friday night! Best night of my life!!
October 5th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
I kept all of my New Kids memorabilia! It’s priceless. I went to the show in Cleveland on Friday. Thank you for a wonderful night! You guys are awesome!

That is absolutely hysterical!!!!
Hope you guys are enjoying a few days off.
I had the time of my life in Cleveland. My daughter was so elated when she saw that you signed her piece of artwork! Once again you’ve made her year.
Tell Donnie that I did have the “most f***ing fun of my whole life”.
You guys never disappoint. I’m sorry that I won’t get the chance to go to another show, but I do recall Jordan saying “see you next year” at the end of the show. I sure hope that’s a promise.
Love ya,
maggie

I can’t believe someone would sell those dolls. Mine got stolen out of a storage unit along with all my other NKOTB memorabilia and barbie dolls. I was totally heartbroken. So it has been my mission to buy all the dolls and memorabilia that was stolen from me. I am a very sentimental person and those dolls meant the world to me. All I can say is thank God for e-bay!
October 5th, 2008 at 3:18 pm

Went to the show Friday night in Cleveland - wish Pittsburgh was on the tour but it was worth the drive - it was amazing. We had so much fun! The show was great, thanks for the memories!!
October 5th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
The Cleveland show was awesome. It seemed like you all never skipped a day together. You danced perfectly. The songs were awesome. I think it was the best NKOTB concert ever. I hope you continue to make music together. I know I will buy it! Your concert was the first one I had ever gone to when I was 13, back in 1987. Please let your fans know if you will be continuing after the tour or will this be it????? You know you can not leave us hangin’ plus, you can get more fans that are younger than 20 if you make get on the block again.
Good Luck, AND HANG TOUGH!

OK so I just left a message but forgot to tell you a funny story…you would be so proud of your fans….
Last night after the Chicago concert several of your fans 50-60 all ended up at a Sports Bar close to the Arena. They were playing jukebox songs and Hangin Tough came on…..the place went crazy!! Girls were up on chairs, tables and pool tables…we were singing, yelling and waiving our hands…it was quite a scene. The other patrons who were not fans were like what the hell is going on!! It was a mini concert minus you guys, best part of course. Thought I’d share our fun time last night out. As I said before concert was great…oh and I meant Naptown (Indy) not chitown needs to be a stop next year.
Much love

Hi Joe, that was funny. I would never sell mine, been saving it for 15 years. I saw you in Cleveland the other night and I’m dying to hear you guys’ toughts about it. That was the first time I ever saw you and it was a dream come true…Some Face time would have made it better but i’m not complaining. I got great pics and video that I will cherish forever. I’m trying to find a way to see you again. My mind has been wondering ever since. The concert met all my expectations. I was surprised how excited I got when I saw you guys come out. All us girls have a love affair with you all and it will last forever and I left satisfied. Thank you so much for getting back together. Did you guys get to go out at all in Cleveland..Send some video and pics on the page…Dying to hear about it..Whats your thoughts about Cleveland?
Love you forever

Now that I’ve already been to the concerts I could get to (both in TO - both AMAZING) it’s blogs, NKTV, TV/radio appearances & of course the music that feed my addiction, so thank-you for the sharing your experiences along the way!
I recently found my Jordan doll & out of curiosity had to listen to the tape that came with it (an interview with all 5 guys). It was like being 10 years old all over again. Although I must say the woman I am now is REALLY into “The Block”! Great work guys, keep it up, enjoy yourselves & come back to TORONTO soon!

Too funny! We got to our hotel early and decided to find Will Call so we’d know where to pick up our tickets, and we saw the swap meet, but didn’t go in. Little did we know that we could have found a treasure!
We were there around 10 a.m. I think. So, we ventured over to Target next door, and who do we see there? BARRETT! Of course we didn’t go up to her or anything, it looked like she was buying Griffen something and we didn’t want to bother her.
And that Donnie comment was freakin’ hilarious! You do have your moments.

October 5th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Christmas, 1991…I was in 1st Grade then…My sister and my brother both had New Kids dolls…Kori had Jordan and Jon…my brother had Danny and I had a Popple. Those stuffed animals that you could turn into a ball…with fluffy tails. Anyways, everyone was fawning over their dolls…and no one cared about my Popple. To make things worse my cousin Shelly showed up with her Donnie doll…So I threw a hissy fit. Started crying. My grandmother, fed up with my antics, went into the bathroom and took a package off the top of the cabinet there. It was shaped like a Barbie box…wrapped in plane white paper…she literally threw it at me and said, “Don’t expect a birthday present!! Not quit your whining!” I felt horrible…but being the greedy kid that I was I unwrapped it…to find my VERY OWN Joe doll…the best for last…smiling back at me. Joe, your “mini me” was my “main ‘Ken Doll’” throughout the 90s. You dated a bevy of beautiful Barbies and you always were dressed like a hawaiian tourist…yellow flowered shirt and orang shorts…I bit your toes off for some reason in second grade. Sorry. Sadly I lost that doll when our house burnt down in 1999. But I purchased a new one this year. The memories came right back like my old one never left. I love you guys lol
See ya in PHILLY!
