Wow! I must admit I never expected over 2000 posts in less
than a twenty four hour span. Looks like I’m gonna be a busy man the
next few weeks………..
I might need to write a book. Some of these questions could fill an
entire chapter. Never thought so many people would have such an interest in my
life. I will start off with the easy questions and save the juicy ones
for a later date. Guess you’ll have to keep checking in from time to
time to see if you got your answer. Well, here goes my answers to your
questions. I would be unfair if I didn’t answer the first question to
come in first, so here it is……..
*Are you an Episcopalian?
Yes, Jordan and I were raised Episcopalian. Our Dad is an Episcopalian
minister. Our first experiences with singing were in our church choir.
*What has been your most favorite part of this reunion?
There are so many favorites to this whole thing, I guess my favorite is
the reaction from all of you followed by having my relationship with
Danny, Joe, and Donnie back on track. I love these guys like they are
my brothers. Jordan, well we have always been close!
*How has it been going from the business world to back on stage?
It was a very hard transition for me to make. I miss work so much but
my company is in great hands until I can jump back in. I have two very
great partners and I can’t thank them enough for understanding my
desire
to do this reunion. Thank god for the Internet. I began two projects
last week by having pictures sent to me on the road.
*What possessed you to buy 30 Emus?
I’ve always been a country boy at heart. I am so happy to have had the
opportunity to purchase a farm during the early days of NKOTB. I love
animals. I went through what I call my Michael Jackson phase. I had to
have anything and everything exotic as far as animals were concerned.
At one time these were the animals I owned, sheep, goats , llamas, long
horned cattle, miniature donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, pigeons,
swans, horses, emus, and a cross between a donkey and a zebra. I was
told by the farmer I bought it from it was a Zedonk. Go figure! I came
very close to buying an elephant but found out they need a huge heated
barn and a massive cement enclosure to keep them put. Needless to say,
I’m glad my elephant phase passed quickly!
*Nikko?
Wow, he led the pack!! And yes that was his real name. The day he
passed away was one of the saddest moments of my life. He is buried in
a special place and has a place in my heart forever!
*Coke or Pepsi?
Can’t say I like either now that I am an adult, if I do get the urge
its definitely Coke! Don’t you remember our commercial back in the day?
*”Shaved”, “trimmed”, or “au naturel”?
HA! Most men do what we call manscaping these days…….The “Tractor”
is well……but definitely no bald tires……who would do that?
*Am I Happy?
Absolutely, what a great life I have! Do I seem un-happy?……….. I
wouldn’t change a thing
*Are we going to do another album and tour?
Lets get through this one first! We are all open to the idea, I guess
that’s up to you to make it happen.
*What is you and Jordan’s Nationality?
Jordan and I were born to Canadian parents. We are of English, Irish,
Scottish, and German decent.
* What’s you favorite drink at Starbucks?
Well I’m not proud of my addictions, neither is Danny for that matter.
He always tells me to “get off the crack”
It is plain old iced coffee, large, with three Splenda, and cream!
*What ever happened to Biscuit?
While spinning around on the B stage during our show in Vegas, I
spotted him at the sound board. It was great to see him after the
concert and catch up!
………………. Stay tuned for more!!!!!

It really sucks that you guys have had to tighten security so, because there are to many immature people that can’t not fight. I can only imagine that it makes you feel like you’re between a rock and a hard place. You all have to have rules and I totally respect them. It you guys shouldn’t have to go through all this to “keep the peace” you all have enough other stuff to worry about. Anyways I hope you are still enjoying every minute. I know I am. I still listen to The Block almost every day and I’m sure it will be played many more times. I’m suprised mine still plays!
Didn’t get to meet you all in person at the Minneapolis, MN show, but I hope there will be another show in the future and then hopefully I will get that chance. Love you all.
Take care for now! ‘Til next time!

You all came to us when we needed you back in the ’80’s where everything, well shall i say, just plain crazy and confusing. Especially, to us teenage girls who were trying to understand life and live with all its demands. I cant say for everyone, but i can honestly say that when the day was all said and done, closing my bedroom door and putting on my cassette tapes of NKOTB, and looking at all my posters, or cutting out pictures of you guys from “Teen Beat” magazine, it was peaceful, and just gave me a sense of calm. Now, 16 years later, you would think that everyone who ever enjoyed those moments, would be nothing short of GREATFUL that we were blessed to have you a part of our lives one more time. It has to be hard to have women trying to claw their way to just get a glimps of you or touch you, even for a second. You would have thought that those same teenage girls grew into respectable women. That in itself should have been the greatest “thank you” to you. If there are people still fighting over someone talking mean about you guys, or making jokes, or even fighting with one another in this blog, WHICH WE SHOULD BE GREATFUL AGAIN THAT YOU GUYS CAN KEEP SUCH A CLOSE DISTANCE, EVEN ON THE INTERNET, WITH YOUR FANS….There should be no reason to abuse that. We all grew up, and got over the “high school jealousy junk”, right? WE LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH. AND NO MATTER WHAT WE ARE IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL…PLEASE GIVE THIS NEW GENERATION THE SAME POSITIVE LIGHT INTO THE FUTURE THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, NKOTB IS LIVING PROOF!
PEOPLE SAID YOU COULDNT DO IT AGAIN, AND LOOK YOU HAVE YOUR GENERATION OF WOMEN WHO HELD YOU CLOSE TO THEIR HEARTS IN THEIR TEENAGE YEARS, AND NOW THOSE WOMENS’ CHILDREN WHO GET TO AS BLESSED AS WE ONCE WERE TO HEAR YOUR WONDERFUL MUSIC ON THE RADIO, the bridge between a mother and daughter that could be the strong point of a perfect relationship between them. You give us that “something in common” that could very well save mom and daughter relationships….thanks guys!
please feel free to contact me if you have time, or i will cross my fingers that you are able to convince everyone that you want to hit Albuquerque, NM on your way to Denver, CO. you cancelled us, i still dont know why..but i am waiting for a reschedule, and NOTHING WILL KEEP ME AWAY FROM SEEING YOU ONE MORE TIME……I SAW YOU WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD, AND I WANT TO SEE YOU NOW AT 32…..LOVE YOU GUYS,
Christie B

wow! Jon, that’s really awesome that you are willing to answer so many questions from the fans. I think what you are all doing is very admirable. Like most of the your fan base, you all hold a special place in my heart. I spent my entire childhood looking for an escape from a reality I didn’t want to be a part of, and I found it through your music. As cheesy as that might be, it’s the truth. I am not a woman who cries easily! I haven’t even cried at the last few funerals of close family members. But, when I attended your concert, before you were even on the stage my eyes filled with tears of happiness. My friends that came with me have never seen me cry and we have been through a lot. The tears ran freely and unashamedly, because of the nostalgia and the fact that because of the escape from my reality, I had a great childhood. I wanted to be a songwriter as a kid so I could write songs that were positive, and made others feel good. I didn’t become a songwriter (at least not yet), but your music let me feel the good I knew was in the world. One of the scariest parts of life is sharing yourself with others. Jon, considering your issues with anxiety, the internet gives you a safe way to share who you are and what you think about in a way that is “safe” and probably doesn’t cause you to hyper ventilate. =) Great post! Look forward to more of it!

Jon,
do you have any idea how happy you made us fans with your answers?
Verrrrry happy!

Hi Jonathan:
All I can say at this moment is WOW! I just got home from your show here in Atlanta. Incredible would only begin to describe it. I gotta tell you-I am married to an amazing man and have the most beautiful daughter that anyone could ever dream of-but the happiness that you guys have brought to me in the last 19 years is something that can’t be put in a category with anything else. I was so blessed to see you guys six times in concert between 1989 and 1990. When it was all “over” in 1993-it was a very sad time for me. I had moved on to becoming a more mature person-not so much “teeny-bopper” stuff. But the last few months with you all being back and knowing you would be coming to Atlanta-to an arena that is 20 minutes from my house-it brought everything back. I had an amazing time tonight. I was fortunate enough to share it with my friend Heather who has been an NKOTB fan with me from the beginning. You guys are incredible. Thank you for all of the happiness and positive vibes and-well-everything you have done for your fans in the last 20 years. There are millions of us out there who are forever changed because of you, the other four guys and your amazingly positive influence over all of us.
Much love and luck to you on the rest of the tour!
Julianna

October 30th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
I’ll see you in Tacoma! My friend from Sixth Grade and I reunited and will be sitting together, or standing and screaming I suppose, at our first NKOTB concert ever! Our parents wouldn’t let us go when we were young!
I’m an animal lover and I always liked little Nikko, I suppose I should have known he wouldn’t live forever, but it makes me sad to hear that he passed away.
Thanks to all of you for the memories and for getting back together so I can check “New Kids Concert” off of my bucket list!

hey jon-
I’ve always wanted a pet sanctuary/adoption center for animals of all kinds..if i had the money, land, support, etc…I’d be all over that. I’ve lost many dogs that have met so much to me in my life…currently i’ve got Mickayla, aka..micky, kayla..she’s awesome..but anyhow…i’m blabbling..could go on and on about this idea as i’m a huge animal lover, esp dogs…but all animals amaze me…if i could take em’ all home, i would.

It is so cool of you to answer these questions, Jonathan!! I’ve been a fan since I was 12 and now I’m 32!! You’ve always been my favorite and after reading your blogs and your answers, I must admit I have great taste!! You are so humble and sweet and I love the fact that you are such an animal lover! I hope the tour continues to go well and I wish you all the best!! Have a very HAPPY 40th birthday, Jonathan!!!

Good evening! It is 10:30 p.m. and I just finished a really good book. I thought I was sleepy until I tried laying there a while and the thought occured to me that I still haven’t heard the answer to my question! But, after getting so many responses, I don’t suppose I will ever know. But that’s a-ok! So, Jonathan, I just wanted to write to you and say that I think this whole reunion tour is just awesome… My girlfriend and I have been talking about it for months and cannot WAIT for NKOTB to come to Tacoma, WA. We have even been trying different outfits out just in case we get to meet any of you! (Hint: When you come to Tacoma, look for the two cutie-pie girls in the 9th row!) So, needless to say, your my favorite and if you come to Tacoma and meet me, I will make you the best breakfast ever. I’m a small town girl, and even though I don’t look the part, I know how to cook! Love ya and hope to share a bottle of wine with you or make you something so yummy that you don’t miss home too much. Much love, Dacia (P.S. Good for you on Starbucks!)

Just wanted to leave a note for you on your latest blog about crazy fans and safety (experpt from a response to Joe’s latest blog :
“I also want Jonathan to know that HE WAS HEARD. That is a matter of life and death and crazy fans just don’t THINK. They just don’t THINK about safety and consequences. And I feel for him and his driver and all of you guys who experience that crap. Pray for safety and make wise choices…guess that’s all you can do, right? But kuddos for the blog on something that serious.”

Okay…a little late responding, but yeah Canada! I hope you have an amazing birthday with your friends. Can’t wait to see any pics from the big bash! You don’t look a day over 30! And have a great rest of your tour and keep safe! Oh! And I hope you’re able to finally get some rest so you can party at your big birthday bashes too!! love, miranda (Toronto)
