DANNY CHECKS IN

What’s up everyone? Just wanted o thank everyone for all there support with our breast cancer tank tops. They have sold out in a lot of cities. With this being breast cancer awareness month it is so important to spread the word about early detection. Thank you and let’s keep the memory of Betty Wood alive.

On a different note I am having the time of my life on tour. The shows have been amazing. The crowds are the loudest ever. The meet and greets have been awesome. You guys keep thanking us for getting back together, but we have to thank you.  All this would not be possible without your love and support. Let’s keep this going strong together. See you on the baby daddy bus.

    Hey Danny,

Just wanted to say that my sisters and I are so happy you guys are back together. Not only has this been a reunion for you, but to us as well. It’s brought back so many fun memories of being carefree and young back in the day! I love it! We saw you guys in Vegas (I made sure we had up close seats and flew down from NYC to be with my sisters for the show). As soon as the lights dimmed and the concert started it caught me by surprise how much we’ve missed you guys and how much energy we had dancing and singing to your old and new songs!

Flew back home to NYC and ended buying MSG tix the day of. Ended up getting a seat on the floor right next to the “center stage”! I went by myself and had a BLAST!!! If you remember seeing a familiar face from Vegas rocking it out front and center, standing on her seat with The Block cd in her hand, that was me, LoL. Hope you guys are having as much fun as we are!

We love you guys and hope this reunion will last longer than you planned…

This past weekend I walked 60 miles in 3 days in the Breast Cancer 3-Day in Atlanta! It was not easy but it felt great! I saw rememberbetty.com a few times while on the walk! Keep up the good work. God bless!

    By the way…..you look awesome!

    Dear Danny,

hey there, I just wanted to tell you your mom is looking down at you PROUDLY for all you have accomplished and your fight to find the cure! Breast cancer has affected sooo many family’s including mine as well. My grandmother died from complications of breast cancer and my mom also had breast cancer, but thankfully my mom found her’s early and has been cancer free for about 8 yrs now. Because of our family history on my mom’s side, my sister and I had to start our routinely check ups early but so far, so good.

I also wanted to say thank you (incase you didn’t see my comment on the NKOTB page) for stopping and trying to help me up when i was trampled on at the Detroit concert last weekend. You even asked if i was Ok. That really showed me how much you guys do care about your fans. I do have a bruised up knee but it was worth the pain;) Now next time I think I’d rather meet you guys in a less painful way like perhaps the M&G lol. Or maybe you & Donnie could let me on the baby daddy bus lol;) could you make room for 2 more adorable kids though…wink, wink lol.

    Lot’s of love, take care
    Dena

Permission to collect money for RememberBetty-Foundation

    Hi there,
below is the mail I’ve sent to the given address.
We’re trying to get a permission to collet money for the org ( we’ll need it in Germany)

    Love,

    Berlin, October, 22nd, 2008

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m writing you on behalf of the german NKOTB-fanclub.

My name is Petra , I’m from Berlin/Germany and I’m a leader of the board & fanclub for New Kids on the Block at http://www.n-k-o-t-b.de ( official NKOTB website of Universal Record Company Germany)

We’ve heard about the foundation and naturally want to help, too.

That’s why we have designed 2 pins/buttons and want to give them away for a donation at the coming concerts in Germany and even give the interessents the possibility to make a donation via our fan-website :

http://www.n-k-o-t-b.com ( which is -as for now- unfortunately not an official one )

What we’d need is your offically permission and application to do so.

I know that there will also be (or already has been done) a request via the record compnay itself.

The german fans and I want to start the activity as soon as possible, thatswhy I thought another mail from

    me might help, too.

All donation will be spent fully to your foundation and maybe we’ll get the chance to hand the cheque personally to one or all of the NKOTB-members while being in Germany for the concerts?

Otherwise we’re going to remit the amount to the given account via Paypal.

The design of the buttons can be viewed at:
    http://www.n-k-o-t-b-.com/remember.html

Thank you in advance for your answer

    Regards,

    Hi Danny
Can’t wait to feel like a teenager all over again. Was so suprised and pleased you were getting the band get together, I will be coming to the show in London on the 24th….Dont know perhaps you’ll even remember me, we met in a shop in london many years ago - and we chatted and even planned to meet! Never did though.Sorry Luv, I was shy little thing then! x How do I get to meet and greet then???
Anyway just wanted to say well done for having the courage to go through this whole comeback thing…you’ve made a lot of now older ladies very happy! LOL

  13. jguthrie Says:

Hi Danny! It is so good to see you guys again! I feel like I am back in high school. How different now, kids for both of us. I just wanted to tell you that your website for your mom is wonderful. My dad was just diagnosed with cancer (Leukemia). It is nice to hear from someone who has been there and made it through the journey with a parent and came out the other end with a new outlook on the end of a life. It is hard to imagine getting to that point right. Your songs Coming Home and the song on rememberbetty.org are BEAUTIFUL! Thank you!

  14. littlebit_1975 Says:

I had the pleasure of attending the show and meet and greet in Charlotte last night. As I am naturally shy, the social sitiation was difficult. I acually had my picture with your arm around my waist. It was unfortunate that I could not, at the time, express my thanks for your efforts for a cure for breat cancer. I have been fortunate to have not had the experience of losing anyone, however, as a nurse, I have been at the bedside of many great women and with thier families cried when they have succumbed to the disease. As the mother of a daughter, the hope is to find a cure before she could ever be affected. I love my tank, it fits really well and I am proud to wear it for all of the women who have lost the battle and that all of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen. Sorry that this was not said directly to you, but I had to get it off of my chest because I am not one to go online and share feelings. I am the biggest fan of yours and I know that your mother would be so proud. Enjoy the tour and keep up the music…

  15. HEATHER77 Says:

Hey Danny I know this is kinda late but I’m new on the site! I am so orry about your mom!! I have a picture of her in Atlanta during the magic summer tour (i think that was the right tour)!I have a picture of Donnie’s mom also, sorry I cant remember what tour it was I have been to alot of them! I do remember Maurice Starr came out as the general,HA,HA!! Anyhow back to the subject, I am an Oncology Nurse and all I help is cancer patients and it breaks my heart! We do Radiation Therapy in our office and then the patients come see me so I can help with what ever need they have like cleaning wounds, some have burns from treatment or some just want to talk about whats going on in their lives so I just sit and try to be a friend to them! When some of the patients go into remission they send flower or different gifts some times they even want to buy us dinner but what I don’t understand is why thank us they’re the ones that did it! There are days that I go home and I just cry cause my dad died from cancer before I became a nurse and I wonder some days if there wasnt something that I could do to make him feel better,if I would have known then what I know now about cancer I might have been able to help him more, I never say anything and I hide it but it kills me everyday, I MISS HIM SO MUCH!! I know this might sound crazy but the day he died my daughter was born, right after he passed she was born! Some say that they passed each other(I know this might sound crazy)but at the same time he passed my daughters heart stopped during labor and my family always says that he gave her life! You know you guys always say that you owe us a thank you well thats how I feel with my patients I’m just glad to be apart of their lives! Sorry this was so long but I just wanted to share my story to you if you get it! Owe and by the way my mom died 2 years ago they say it was heart failure but she died from a broken heart! I never told her how much I missed him cause I knew she was having a hard time and all she would say was that she wanted to be with him and everyday she cried, so I stayed strong for her, at least till I was alone then I cried!! I believe your mom is with you and very proud! I know there is alot of us that are proud of you and the other guys! Well I am gonna go this is long enough but I will see you in St.Louis 3rd row sexy and SINGLE! I dont have 5* but hopefully you will come out side during sound check and we can meet! I am driving to far so I will positively be at the arena trying to get FACE TIME! XOXO HEATHER

    Hey Danny,
Just wanted to say hi. Saw you guys in Vegas. My friends and I came all the way from SF. We had a blast, felt like we were 13 again. You guys rock! Come to the Bay Area again, last time I saw you there was 1989.
On a more serious note, I’m sorry to hear about your mom. My mother just got a scare last month, but everything turned out ok.
    Love you guys, Caron

  19. AmyMay Says:

    Danny,

I think its awesome what ya’ll are doing to help fight for a cure. It’s not a fun thing to go through. I’m 32 and had a scare earlier this year. I know someone who is battling this right now. Even though mine turned out to be nothing (thank God) its still scary to have to go through all the test, biopsies, and surgery. I hold this close to my heart.

I saw you guys in Tampa tonight. You were AWESOME!! OMG!! I feel like a teenager again. Can’t wait to see ya’ll again.

    Love Ya’ll,
    Amy

  23. Coley81 Says:

I must start off by telling you how sorry I am that you lost your mother, I know firsthand that the void that is left when a parent passes is permanent, and that the only thing to do is allow yourself to grieve…embrace it in all of it’s stages…and understand that eventually the aching mellows and the memories are all that are left, allowing smiles in the place of tears (not advice to you, just some encouragement)! The effort being put into the remember betty organization is more than admirable, good things are bound to come your way* Thank you so very much for the hard work you and the guys go through to give us the best show every time you step onto that stage…and most importantly thank you for allowing me to take my mind off of the meticulousness that is daily life, if only we could return the favor! Have a nice day*

  24. 30something Says:

    Danny,
The breast cancer tanks are a great idea! I am ordering one right now. My family has been devastated by this horrible cancer several times, so this cause is very close to my heart. Just saw you guys Sunday in Tampa- you look incredible! ;) Great concert and by the way, we can tell that you guys are enjoying it too, it looks like you all are having so much fun on stage!

Keep up the fight against Breast Cancer and keep singing your heart out!

  25. pooler77 Says:

Its nice to see people use their celebrity in such a positive way. As a woman who was diagnosed last year at the age of 29 it was very touching to hear what you guys are doing for this cause.
You were all excellent in Charlotte!

  26. HELLOKIKI Says:

    Danny,
I too lost my Mom, not to breast, but ovarian. Losing my bestfriend is the hardest thing I have had to face! I try to honor her by being the best woman, mother, and wife I can be! I saw the show in Tampa on Sunday and the part where you honored those lost brought me to tears because I know my Mom was looking down at her “Die-hard NKOTB fan” daughter and just glad I FINALLY made it to a show! It was a great concert, so worth the wait! You look amazing and I hope you do another tour! The tanks are such a wonderful way to honor your Mom, I’m sure she’s proud. I can’t wait to wear mine!

    Nikki (Turning 30 and proud)

  27. xocolleen1231 Says:

    Danny,

Loving the breast cancer tanks! I had to get 3 (mom, aunt, and myself!). My family, as well as so many others, have been touched by this horrible disease in one way or another. Iam so sorry for your loss. But what a wonderful thing your doing,…turning a negative, into a positive for your mom, and a million others out there as well. I saw you guys in Philly, the concert was AMAZING!!! to say the least. It was the best concert I have been to in a while! Keep living the dream, who knows what lies ahead for all of you guys! “You got gold, when you can bring back the teenage years for so many people”.

  31. Dacia Says:

    Hey Danny!

I am so ready to be on the baby daddy bus. My best girlfriend and I have been daydreaming about the concert night for the past few months. I have personally purchased 10 different shirts just so that I can choose the best one for the day of the concert in case I am lucky enough to meet you in person! I am going with yellow at the moment….. but that could change. I just think it will be easier to spot us if we wear bright colors?? LOL

I just can’t wait!!! My friend and I have stepped up our normal workout routine from 3-4 days a week to 7 days just so that we look PERFECT when/if we get to meet you. Anyhow, thank you so much for coming back to the stage. We love you all and this has been just as wild of a ride for us as you guys have mentioned - the excitement, anticipation, the preparation – We can’t wait for our face time on the baby daddy bus!

Only two more weeks until TACOMA, WASHINGTON!!!

    Much love,
    Dacia

BHhHi Danny…I recently attended your concert in Providence, RI (which was awesome as always). I had gone with my friend and our 2 daughters and had backstage passes to see you guys. After the concert, we had waited almost 2 hours to see you guys because it seemed the people who handled who got backstage was coming out chosing only certain individuals. After waiting that long with our daughters (8 years old) we had finally got to speak to someone on your crew (Johnny) who told us that just about everyone is already on teh bus. He did however, allowed us to go with him backstage ( by this time it was 12:30 a.m.) to see if you were still here so you could sign the girls CD’s. We were told you weren’t. We were followed out by just about everyone else who was waiting and they (as well as us) were all upset that we weren’t informed noone was available anymore. We are completely aware that meeting you guys wasn’t a 100% guarantee even if we had passes but some who didnt’ have passes got backstage way before us. It’s not about being a typical “groupie” but our girls were waiting for a month and a half to go to the concert and meet particularly you who they absolutely love and they made us wait for so long without telling us that you guys were about to leave. I do thank the cooperation of Johnny who helped us but it’s just very upsetting and the girls were crying. Your concert was awesome and this will not stop us from going to see you guys again we just wanted to let you know what we felt. Thank you and again..the concert was awesome.
