I’m sitting in section 120 row 14 seat 10 at the arena in Toronto. I’m the only one in the stands as I watch the stage being put together for a New Kids on the Block concert. Wow. I see it slowly coming together. Light rigs being strung up. They just rolled out the floor for the stage. Just now, the first flash as they test the massive light rig. One of the toughest things of being a part of amazing productions and shows and performances is that sometimes you feel like it went too fast, like you didn’t quite enjoy it as much as you could have. So help me God, I will drink this up. A wonderful life, a beautiful wife, a son. And a world tour with 4 guys that go beyond any description that could explain the connection I have with them. And the people that have made this new journey possible… You. So help me God, I’m gon’ drink this up.

Joe, I’ve been saying the same thing since April. I was too young the first time around to know to drink it up. But now I can fully appreciate how good this is, and I am savoring every moment. I’ve said it before, but thank you guys for such an amazing year. When I first heard about the reunion, I was excited, but I never dreamed it would be this spectacular. Lucky me for being a fan. (And my awesome new husband is a nice plus too.)

I glad you are able to enjoy it this time around. Life can go by so fast and the older we get the fast it goes by. I hope everyone enjoys the ride this time around I know the fans are.
The members of the group I belong to the OGBG are eternally greatful to the 5 of you because of the friendships that have happened because of the reunion. Its a small group of gals but we have such a connection already that we can sometimes finish each others thoughts.
Anyway, I’m rambling now. I can’t wait to see you on tour. I’m catching a few shows and seeing the 5 of you perform for the first time on Oct 4th!

Welcome back to Toronto, I had a feeling you might be here tonight!
Joseph, You have a gift for painting a visual with your words…
I have been to many shows at the ACC in Toronto and have sat almost where you are now. I haven’t looked forward to any of those shows the way I am looking forward to the NKOTB shows this week. Looking across the arena at the stage from that vantage point must be an awesome sight indeed.
You couldn’t have picked a better place to begin this amazing journey, because this week Toronto is the centre of the universe for many fans who not only live here — but who have/will travel here to help the five of you kick off what really has to be The Reunion of the Decade, on a global level. So appreciated and so very anticipated by the fans.
You say that we have played a role in your journey this time around — I say, It is our pleasure! And thank you….

The concerts always seem to go by in a blur, and for most of us, we only get one night…maybe 2, 3, r 4 if we’re lucky…but I can’t imagine trying to keep everything straight from one city to the next.
It’s gonna be a wild ride, though…and I can’t wait!

I cannot thank you guys enough for doing this reunion. I hope you get to enjoy every sec of this ride! I know I will be trying to do the same. I have 18 more days to wait but my thoughts will be with you and the guys on day one of the tour!!!

Joe, you are a romantic at heart. The first time around you and the guys did not have time to soak it all in, so do it this time. Enjoy life to the fullest because you will have so many more stories to tell Griffin over the years. See the sites of all the cities you visit, and mingle with the locals. Get out into the outer regions of the cities, and remember to breath. Just a reminder: A true friend comes in when the whole world walks out.

I can only imagine that this has been an amazing adventure for all of you! I’m so very glad that NKOTB has reunited! I agree with the comments about reliving our youths because it is the truth and if we blink, it’s over! My best friend of 20+ years and I absolutely adored NKOTB the first time around and have loved you every since! So now that your back, we are totally feeling like the crazy teens we once were! Thanks so much for that. She is flying in from AZ next month so we can go to the Minneapolis/St. Paul concert on October 21st. Can’t wait! I hope your wife and son are enjoying this as much as your fans are!!!!! See ya soon!

Ahhh Joe…you brought tears to my eyes reading that. I know how we the fans are feeling but can only imagine how you must feel sitting there watching this go on before your eyes. What an amazing experience this has been so far and it gets better everyday and that’s totally not an exaggeration. You five guys have made being a fan for the last twenty years so worth it. Well, sometimes life happens too fast, but when you have already noticed that, so you can take the time to enjoy it, as well as we all will during the shows, taking every single second and remembering for a long time. The gals in this group are thankful for the friendships that have developed since the reunion started and they have grown so much that we feel like long lost sisters. The ride is just really beginning for us but the friendships we’ve developed are great and hopefully will last forever.

I got goosebumps reading what you wrote. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to be part of something like that, watching the stage be built and everything put together for the first show of your first tour together in 14 years…it’s incredible to think about! I would love to be there to see something like that come together. I do hope you are able to enjoy each and every moment of this. It’s going to be an amazing, special time for all of us.

I always thought that maybe you had to grow up a bit to quick because of touring so young,(in a way a Michael Jackson-ish up-bringing) sometimes one can lose himself in all of the bright lights & rolling cameras. I can not believe how excited I am for the shows to start!! First time around it wasn’t cool for this “Metal Head” to go to any of the live shows. And I was of age back then….What was I thinking??? This is like waiting for that big xmas present you know you will remember forever. I can’t wait to meet you all at the meet and greets…and what fun it will be to try and find you in the streets!! Wow, thank you for the update, Joe! When you said “And a world tour with 4 guys that go beyond any description that could explain the connection I have with them” it gave me goosebumps. There were SO many rumors for a while about what happened to NKOTB years ago, and you stating that you guys have an amazing connection with the other guys was what I wanted to hear!
I will see you guys in Seattle/Tacoma on November 22 and I can’t wait!!

I could not agree more. It all went so fast. I too,took in as much as possible. I have been thinking of New Kids on the Block every single day since the teaser went up on this site. That seems kind of creepy, but what can I do?
Thank you for your appearance on the Guiness Show in Germany!!! It felt so special to have you perform a song for us and sit on the couch there and just be your wonderful selves!!! Were you comfortable sitting on the back rest, you poor thing ;-)??? I hope our cheering showed you guys how much GERMANY is ready for more than just 2 shows!!!! I felt so proud standing in the audience. Proud of you five and proud of us fans,that we are still here after all those years, still so numerous.

Glad to hear from ya. I was supposed to be that beautiful wife that gave you your first boy! LOL JK You are very blessed! Soak it up, it is here and you deserve it as well as the guys. This was something that was a long time coming. It took a while to get here but it is finally here. Yes, it will be over before we know it. Just know that we will all still be there even after. I never left, and followed you guys in your separate paths.
You were my very first concert, and the biggest crush of my life! Chicago House of Blues back in 2000 I believe. Wow, still seems like it was a dream. I remember just staring. So much that I didn’t soak it up enough to remember every moment. There are few things that stick out. Like happening upon your tour bus, but respecting your privacy not to get in. The door was wide open, you may not have been on it though. Oh well, I am finally going to see you guys together and this is a dream come true! I know that I am going to do my best to remember EVERY part of it. 11 more days till Boston, I can’t wait. I will also be meeting you guys on Oct 25th! 2008 is definitely the year to remember!

YOu know it’s weird one day u think it’s all over, and ur dreams feel so left in the pits. Like ur dreams were patheic and useless, then all of sudden ur dreams come true, like a dream that was so unexpected. It is now so surreal and happening all so fast. I wish it would slow down a bit so I can enjoy every moment…longer and longer I wish to enjoy my time hearing ur voice and seeing ur face. I am so thankful that u r there to put on smile on my face. although, u r hurting I feel like I am there for you. I’ve known about you for over 20 years, and have never changed my feelings towards you. I thought I would never feel this way again, but I do (married and all), I do. I pray that ur heart gets mended and the pieces put back together. It is never easy to hurt nor is it easy to stand up when ur down, but I am here; here if u want to speak, I’ll be listening…just give me a chance. Believe it or not you came into my home through images I would never forget. I learned ur favorite color, ur favorite foods, ur favorite everything cuz I cared. I know that you’re human, and tend to feel complete. But please try and smile more cuz the end isn’t here yet..there is still u and ur boys, ur family, ur fans and me ur friend. It’s so stupid…but I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes reading your blog. I don’t cry over this stuff…but your words are so touching. I feel the same way…about things going by so quickly and when it’s over you feel like you missed something. I just don’t want this second chance to go by without ME really drinking it in. The five of you have really given the fans and amazing opportunity to experience “New Kids” all over again, only this time…I’m gonna make it count. And I can only hope this is just the beginning! We love you all…and I hope by the end of this tour, you understand just how much.

What a beautiful blog…almost too beautiful to put on a blog..should be in a book! Thank you for sharing! I plan on drinking up every moment when I go to Charlotte! I think if we all look at our lives and try to soak up every moment we can see the blessings in everything from arena tours to going to work and helping someone! It’s the small things and the big! It’s the mundane and spontaneous!

Have ordered my copy of “The Block - Deluxe” from amazon since its not available in New Zealand and from what I heard on the sample playlist (and Youtube - yeah I know that cheating!) the whole album is so awesome. I am having trouble deciding if I like One Song or @ in the morning best! They are both my faves!

Just wanted to say NKOTB (esp. Joey McIntyre) saved my life. I’m sure you get so many stories like this.
I grew up in a poor neighborhood with lots of drugs, alcohol abuse, teen pregnancies and illegal activities going on. Most of my playmates were sucked into this world by age 12. But at that age, me and a couple of close friends were into NKOTB so instead of doing those things, we would get high singing along to NKOTB albums and putting together dance steps for the songs which we performed in small parties and events. NKOTB kept me safe and sane.
When my parents separated, I was a wreck inside, but I let it all out in a diary that I called DJM (Dear Joe McIntyre), and I expressed all my depression, rage and hopes through writing to Joey. I just pretended that he really read them, and it made all the difference.
All these kept me motivated to stay in school and I got a scholarship to go to a nice university and get my degree. Now I’m a writer and an entrepreneur with a happy life.
NKOTB and Joey, you have no idea how much your music and your group has saved me and my friends.

Ah Joey-Jo !!! I am so with you on this one… this adventure is unbelievable! When I was 14 I surely was a bit too young to enjoy the whole experience, but today, at 31, it finally sinks in … a week ago I was in London, about to meet you guys for the first time ..despite all the pictures, the memories, today I still have to pinch myself to realise I was there .. It all seemed to have gone in a minute… Life has a way of bringing lovely surprises to us and this reunion is the best that could happen to us all: you guys and us all fans ..so let’s enjoy every minute of it !!! see you in London in January !!xx

Hi, i´m Sandra 30 y.o. from germany. I have a 2 year old child named Leonie and she´s soo cute. I´m alone and sometimes very lonely and i´m happy to have her.
It´s really amazing how quick you are there in Toronto. You all were in Germany on Saturday 13th, aren´t ya? You must have taken the next flight. Or do you have your own New Kids plane? I wish you all the best for the start of this fantastic tour. I´ve always wanted to make music. I wrote songs and … i love music and i couldn´t live without it.
And yes Joe i can imagine how it feels to sit up there watching it happen.
It sometimes seems so unreal. And it passes by that quickly you can´t breath.

I met you nine years ago today, and I know that on that night your world was a very chaotic place. It is really wonderful to know that you have found the balance you always sought, and it’s actually a relief as a fan to know that you are seeing this all from the right mental space. It’s a giant experience that the five of you have been riding. You had a long and sometimes difficult break, and this is the sweet reward for all of that–both for you guys and for all of us fans. It seems to me that everything you’re doing in 2008 is with the fans in mind–the things you say, the things you do. Even listing that seat number–you know damn well that’s going to make one lucky fan who holds that seat VERY happy to know that YOU were sitting there watching the stage go up. You bring up things from way back in the day that you know will strike a chord with those of us who were there. You have grown, personally, vocally, artistically… I’m really proud in 2008 to still be a fan, of all five of you certainly, but especially of yours as always. I’m still inspired by you. Thank you for that.

Hey, Joe, thanks for checking in, been awhile since we heard from you. I bet the person who has that seat on Thursday is going to be thinking, “Joe-Mac’s ass sat on this seat!!”
I thank God everyday for my blessings, my son, my family/friends, my son, my health, my son. I drink all that up everyday, like I would with my juice at breakfast. I also thank God for the chance I have to see you in concert 2 nights in Toronto, a place to stay after my plans fell thru and left me homeless in a city far from my real home.
I’m looking forward to seeing you & the guys during my stay in Toronto in 3 days. I will be looking out for you. I hope that Barrett & Griffin also have a wonderful time during the tour. Toronto has a lot of great things to do for children…I used to live there a decade ago.

It has been said that the first time around was very fast and hormonal…and that this is the time that we all get to savor it and enjoy every minute. I totally agree with that and what you’ve said here. We (the fans, and apparently you all as well) have the ability to appreciate the gifts given us quite a bit more…and we (the fans) know what it’s like to “live without you”! Thanks so much for the amazing things you do and say, it is indescribable how much we all needed this. I am loving every single step of this crazy ride, and appreciating it so much more than I did 20 years ago!
