Hey all!!!!
Quick thing-
I’ve been in LA for a while… Been in a few earthquakes.
The one last week hit while we were in rehearsal…
And I realized after it hit….
That I need a camera phone with video…
See I’m used to earthquakes….
Danny Wood, however, is not used to them.
If you all could see Danny running to a doorway when that sucker hit…
Man I wish I had a camera!!!

I’d have you in my corner in most any dangerous situation in life…
I guess an earthquake is not one of them.
Though I have to admit….
My first earthquake….
I didn’t run for a doorway….
I ran outside the front door!!!

Don’t you know that you need to get yourself underneath a doorway or under a table in the event of a quake? Being from Nor Cal, I still get a little shaken when we experience a quake because they’re rare.
Wish I could’ve seen the look on Danny’s face when he ran!!

I’m with Danny! I’d be going to the doorway or a table or something. No way do I ever want to be in one of those. I’ll stay right here in the northeast where all we have to worry about are the big snowstorms that cause me and my family to snuggle together watching a movie!

I was gonna say, remember a camera phone the next time…. but I really hope it doesn’t happen too often for your guys…. think I would freak myself.. although living in Scotland, there really isn’t any danger of earthquakes.

Ironically… that feeling (of being weak in the knees and the the earth moving below you) is the way we feel EVERYday knowing that you guys are only a few weeks away from being in front of us singing, dancing and just being there.
If that earthquake shook you up… you may want to stand firm. We’re ready… we’re older… and that little tremor has NOTHING on the MAD love you’re about to feel come September.

I have lived in California all my life! Tell Danny that when I felt my first earthquake (that I can remember) I believe I was 5, I ran for my Mom and I didn’t sleep much for a week! Love to you all and I am glad that he survived his first earthquake!

HA HA HA HA!!! Good times! I lived in LA for 2 years and only experienced one little earthquake…I guess I can consider myself lucky. Poor Danny! I still don’t really know what you’re supposed to do in an earthquake…but I do know you’re NOT supposed to run outside!! Glad to hear you know better now Donnie! We wouldn’t know what to do if got hurt! your “trap door” injury back in the 90’s was more than enough…keep yourself safe…and teach Danny what to do in case of another earthquake ’cause he needs to keep himself safe as well!!!

I hope you can help… I want to buy tickets to the Oct 4th Chicago show my me and my three aunts. My one aunt is almost completely blind due to complications from diabetes so I wanted to buy front row tickets so she can see…only prob is cost over $2400. I noticed in some states there is the opportunity to stand in line for signature if we prepurchase the new album in advance, however I did not see this available in Chicago. Can you tell me if you will be adding any cd signing dates in Chicago and what the location will be. This would mean so much to me to give her the opportunity to see you up close, even if it is for a brief moment, she means the world to me and I would give anything to see her smile after the rough couple of years she has had. Please help! Regardless of where we sit I will definetly be taking her to the october 4th Rosemont Horizon show. We are all very excited to relive the good ol days, and also to hear your new music.

This is too funny…I was in the same earthquake I was visiting my sister (shout out to Katina!!!) and I about lost all bodily functions. I can totally see where Danny is coming from! I was ready to fly back home ASAP! Give me a really bad Nor’easter or severe t-storm, I’m good, I can deal with…but when the earth begins to move under you feet, forget about it…you loose all means of logical thinking. I have only ever seen a tornado before and after that expirience I wanted to and still want to chase twisters.

OMFG! Lord help me! That is FUNNY! My first earthquake was equally chaotic and was in 1992 in LA! My mom was screaming “someone grab the baby and stand in a doorway!” I grabbed my sister, who was 7 months at the time, but I didn’t make the doorway and just sat on the floor holding her praying we wouldn’t die! LOL! I remember the ground looking like it was rolling! Never seen anything like it! Poor Danny!
As someone else mentioned, give me a badass Nor’Easter any day, but earthquakes can just keep to themselves! WHEW!
Now, Donnie, your birthday gift from a bunch of us is on the way. It is coming UPS and should be there before Thursday! We hope you enjoy it. If Danny’s earthquake action gave you some laughs, I think you will like the humor of the Donnie girls.

I just had a visual of Danny running into the doorway…too funny! Well,is funny the right word b/c I’m sure it was quite scary in the moment! You definitely need to keep a camera phone handy for such situations!!!!
Students returned today, and a few of them asked what my countdown poster was all about…I’m like “I get to meet my favorite band…EVER…New Kids on the Block” Some of the freshmen didn’t know who you are…they do now and they realize Summertime is your song:) Yeah, I’m a NKTOB advocate!
I can’t wait for tomorrow…I’m headed to Wally world to get my CD/DVD combo! Wootwoot! Also, I will be downloading “Single.” I’m so pumped about everything that is going on right now…life is fabulous!

That is too funny….I would have loved to have seen that. I never experienced an earthquake when I lived in Cali so I can say that I would probably do the same as Danny….but yet again I think that I would have just stood there and made up a dance move to go with it…lmao….

This is funny! but it’s not funny experiencing it. i remember the time it hit our place… we were in school and outside the room… i didn’t ran, just stood where i was together with my classmates and we hold on together so that we won’t fell off… it’s hard to run either i think..

Well, I’m glad to hear that one of you is having some fun at Danny’s expense. I suppose if the rehersals were being held in Florida you’d be no more used to the hurricanes that hit the gulf coast than Danny is used to the earthquakes that hit California.

I have never experienced an earthquake before. Came close to an F5 tornado last year and have been buried in like 30 feet of snow but never an earthquake. I don’t know how I would react, I might dive for underneath a table. lol
But that would have been for sure a kodak moment.

You don’t need a cameraphone, you just need to have a cameraman at the rehearsals to tape the entire thing & than you can put it online so we can all have as much fun watching it as you are having rehearsing!

I am pretty impressed that Danny knew what to do. I have read that you should find a doorway, but that would have been the furthest thing from my mind during the actual earthquake. OMG too funny! Thanks for sharing such intimate parts of your lives with us! Danny and Jon both sound pretty ’shook up’ from the whole thing. I too have been through many earthquakes (comes with the territory when your a cali girl). So, they really aren’t that scary to me. With that said, I’d freak if there were a hurricane or tornado coming through, and I don’t even want to try to drive in snow. LOL I guess we all have our natural disasters that scare us, and others we are used to.

Oh, my god^^ Danny, you are welcome to come to my earthquake training camp in Taiwan. There are earthquakes almost every week, but most of them you don’t really notice. In the beginning I was scared like you, I would put my passport next to my pillow in case there was an earthquake in the middle of the night because I had seen the horrible pictures on tv about that big earthquake in Taiwan a few years ago, and I would hide somewhere in the door or under the table, just like you and go crazy. But after a while I wouldn’t even bother to get up…lol.

My first earthquake happened the morning of my brother’s wedding at about 5am in OC. It was the craziest thing I have ever experienced. I was asleep and I seriously thought someone was moving my bed back and forth…maybe my sister was playing a prank…it was the weirdest feeling ever. FREAKED me OUT! Danny…you are not alone…first earthquakes suck!

On a side note, I have to say it was AWESOME to see you guys on Friday!! Thanks so SO MUCH for doing the MOA show, it was AWESOME!! Seeing you guys so up close and personal for the first time was TOTALLY worth the 9 hour drive there, getting pulled over, waiting for 14 hours to see you guys, and 36 hours of no sleep!! I got a wonderful hug from Jonathan, but since security was rushing us so much I didnt get any face time with you!! I was shoved right past you and on to Danny! One of your legendary Donnie hugs was second on my list of must-do’s after my Jonathan hug, so I EXPECT you to hold to your word and be on the lookout for me in Chicago on 10/24 - Ill be on the lookout for you guys! Awwww poor Danny is afraid of earthquakes knowing me I would have done the same thing too lol cause I never experienced a earthquake either cause I never been to California. So, Donnie just don’t pick on him too much cause we still love him. Us women like a man who can be scared too like us makes us feel sooo much better to see them like that. And than, living on a different continent… I never had an earthquake, hurricane or whatso ever… haven’t a clue how I would react if I am in one…

I just wanted to swing by and say what an AWESOME performance you guys had at the Mall of America on Friday. I love the new song “Single” and I am waiting up tonight to buy it on iTunes! My friend and I waited in line since 3AM that day to see you and it was completely worth it when you all came on stage. I was a little disappointed when it was my turn in line to get autographs. I feel we were rushed and I wished I could have gotten a hug from you and Danny like many of the other girls. You two, I have to say, made the all day ordeal worth it as we watched you and Danny excited to meet your fans. I can see how it can get a little repetitive to do these signings, but man you two acted as if it was the first time and you really cared about us! I grew up as a Joey Mac girl, but after this weekend, I think I have a new favorite New Kid… ok maybe two (You and Danny). Anyways, I just wanted to thank you for being there for your fans and making it a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to see you back in MN!

I’ve grown up in CA but yes I still get a little worried about earthquakes. Living around SF it can be touch and go if we feel one coming on. I did spend 8 months in Texas with the USAF in Tornado Ally, and experienced a hurricane in Mexico, not my cup of tea. Give me an earthquake any day over a tornado or hurricane.

I know I wouldn’t have room to talk about or laugh at that type of reaction because it is better that what I did.
Living in W. KY most of my life I have experienced a few quakes, but they were all very mild. I was in 6th grade with my first one and I just stood there in the middle of the classroom floor (2nd story of a 2 story 60 yr old building) while everyone else was ducking and covering next to the wall and the teacher was yelling at me to get down.
I am disabled and shake alot of the time so I didn’t notice that it was the room shaking and not me.
All that aside if I ever make it to S. Cal anything over a 4.0 and I would probably be right there in the doorway too. and it would be even more halarious to see me run considering I can’t do more than a fast limp that resembles a crippled duck

I have to agree with JJenson40, Donnie, Danny, and Jon were so sincere and so happy to be there at Mall of America. I only wish I could have said something better to Danny instead of: “you’re my favorite.” I was only being honest. Danny did shake my hand (as well as Donnie and Jon). I did cry a wee bit after meeting the guys on Friday. I am still in awe that I was able to meet and shake the hands of the guys that I loved when I was a kid and now as an adult. Thank you guys for getting back together I look forward to your concert. All of you look and sound beautiful.

I live in Miami and I’m sure Danny would agree that the hurricanes we experience are no joke. I lived in LA for six years, Louisiana for 16 and Miami for 6. I’d take a hurricane over an earthquake any day! At least I’d know that it’s coming!!

Oh Lord….Donnie, you make me laugh so hard! I feel bad for Danny and that instant of terror he felt bolting to the doorway. That mental image was awesome though! I know how he felt, because I felt sheer terror during my 1st earthquake experience. I experienced a volcanic eruption (Mt. St. Helens, WA)….just waiting to experience a hurricane and tornado in my lifetime. Maybe I’ll get lucky?

OMG, I would have been screaming! I have never experienced an earthquake. Now, snowstorms…ah, been there many times. So glad no one was hurt. Awww Donnie, I was in LA during that time. I was headed to the Chelsea Lately Show so I didnt even feel it so when I got to the show, all these ppl were standing outside the building and I was like “OMG! Are all these ppl here for the Chelsea Lately Show?” And they were like “No, we just had an earthquake” and looked at me like I was retarded. Then I asked them to point me in the right direction. But you should def have a video phone because as awesome as Danny is, I would have loved to see that. Cant wait to see you guys in Houston.

All of you guys are so awesome. I can’t wait for the new CD to hit. I bought the first set of Boston tickets for the Sept 28th show. Still got pretty nice floor seats even without going with ILAA. I’m waiting for my other financial aid check so I can by Boston tickets for the Sept 26th show. We’ll probably have balcony seats for that, but I don’t care. I just know that your Boston concerts will be amazing.
And, if I could just ask one thing — I would love to hear Danny’s beautiful amazing voice on some of the lead vocals. I don’t know if there’s a chance you’ll do “Never Gonna Fall in Love Again” or “Let’s Try it Again”, but if not, I hope he has some leads on the new songs. I love listening to him sing.
If you have a chance, you should check out the New Kids Forever at newkidsforever.proboards83.com . We’d love to see you there! There are a lot of refugees from the original community board here. Wonder if this one will ever be open again? Your fans got scattered when it was shut down. Even though I was able to maintain contact with some close friends I made on here, there were others that I’m not sure if I’ll hear from again. Can one of you guys make some mention about when or if the board will ever come up again?

I’m with Danny on this one! A couple of years back when I was living in Ontario, we had an aftershock hit us in Windsor ( which is across the river from Detroit). I was sitting on my couch watching t.v with my brother.. and it was the weirdest feeling.. the whole couch just started swaying.. he looked at me and I looked at him.. we each thought the other one had done something to create this weird swaying. We sat in silence giving each other the ole slanty eye.. then finally I said “Did you do that” he laughed and said “I thought you did”.. then we both were like .. ” then what the hell was that”.. yep.. within 1 minute.. breaking news about an aftershock.. so creepy!!! Be happy Danny just stood in the door way.. I probably would have peed.
Anywhoo.. I’m glad you are all well and I look forward to the new album and the concert! Only a few weeks to go!! Boo yeah!

I did the same thing my first earthquake waaaay back in the day - and if you wanna hear a funny story…My first earthquake on my 2nd trip to LA in ‘89 was followed 3 days later with me seeing & hearing “Please Don’t Go (Girl)” for the very first time…Aaaahhh what a memorable trip at age 13, eh? Hang in there Danny. Last year there was quake that actually made me scream. About 1 a.m. I was laying on the floor trying to finish pinning a quilt when there was a side to side jerker. I live in an old house, and I was sure the floor joist was going to break. I think it was worse because I was actually laying on the floor. My husband, who was sitting at his desk, just laughed at me.

OK I have paid a LOT of $$ to get myself to the Las Vegas show, SO we cannot have any accidents befall my fave 5. DANNY-DOORWAYS ARE NOT SAFE!!! There is a header over your head-may fall through-stay away from things that can fall on you. And NEVER EVER get under a table either!!

Haha! As a native Californian, this recent earthquake was minimally small even though I live 8 miles away from the epicenter. Be happy you weren’t here when Northridge hit back in 1994. With a big one like that, I’m sure that no one would really be laughing. All areas have their natural disasters, but earthquakes are not predictable.
As much as this made me smile, I’m happy that safety measures were taken on Danny’s part cause you never know.

REALLY i don’t, but this blog is TOO funny lol! luv luv LUV your blogs donnie! at least danny was able to react appropriately. i, however was half awake & half asleep.. when i felt the earth shake for the first time here in HAWAII [oahu to be exact :)] almost 2 years ago. i thought someone was shaking my bed and didn’t know what to do. i do sympathize w/danny on that aspect. apparently natural disaster don’t have an affect on me cause right after everything stopped shaking, i went right back to sleep lol! i just hope that doesn’t happen when my friends and i head to LA in november.. anywho.. i’m glad you all are safe :). see you in november!

I can totally relate with you on that Donnie, living in Japan I experience them all the time. .. it’s mostly just the aftershocks and tremors for what hits in other prefectures, but they rock pretty good and it’s sorta fun in a demented way..:) Well until something falls off my shelves and breaks. ..
Ya I agree it would be good to hear “never gonna let you go” and some of the older mid songs. . Dirty Dawg came before it’s time. . that was good stuff and it didn’t get a fair chance. . . and I would also like to hear Jon on some lead vocals. . I understand he has a comparable voice to Jordan…?

First off my birthday 8/11/77. Im now 31. But Donnie and the guys. Ive been thru a few earthquakes in Oregon and never ran to stand under a doorway. most of the time they have been in the middle of the night so i stayed in bed. The last one was in 2006 i was pregnant(sp) and at work and i just stood there. But earthquakes are no fun, scary and last only a few minutes. Your first one is always scary, Danny i hope you are okay, Jon i hope that the fear is gone. What about Jordan and Joe. what were you feeling?

Anyway, it is amazing that you guys are back together & putting out a new album. It’s even better that you guys are going out on tour. Who would have thought my sister & I would see you again. The first time I heard Please Don’t Girl on the radio after purchasing our tickets for the show in Philadelphia in November I got chills & then a HUGE smile came across my face. My sister & I are so excited. We were fortunate enough to be 4 rows & dead center from the stage during the Hangin Tough tour & my sister somehow caught a bear that you threw back into the audience. You kept looking at her after she caught it & she wouldn’t look back because she is very shy! I can still remember the look on her face!
That concert is one that we will never forget!!

i remember when the earthquake hit in Missouri not too long ago and i live in a trailer so it REALLY shook the place up. I tell you i didn’t run to the door way cuz it was 4am and i was still in bed but i was screaming Jesus’ name and praying in tongues and rebuking the devil for it! lol hey whatever works right?! But it is scary being in your first one. At least it didn’t happen at 4 in the morning for you guys! But oh what i would have given to see Danny do that! Sorry Danny but that sounds so funny!!!!

Holy s#$@ I never imagined you guys would be such a crack-up! I love reading the blogs, what crazy adventures you have! I have such fond memories of being a “Blockhead” back in my high school days. Two of my dearest friends from school (whom I met through our mutual NKOTB teen obsessions - and who I haven’t heard from in years) emailed me the other day to let me know of the NKOTB reunion, and quite by accident on the same day I received an email from Nasri - who I didn’t even know was producing new material for you! Well, suddenly my day was brighter and I felt like a silly teenager again. Donnie, Danny, Jon, Jordan & Joe, you have brought together a giggling group of 30-somethings who haven’t seen each other in over a decade - and we’re now back in each others lives as adults, and for good. You will never imagine what you have brought to my life over the years - but music, laughter, dancing, woeful haircuts and revolting early 90’s fashion sense aside - you have brought back my old school friends, and for that I will be forever grateful.
I hope you will make New Zealand & Australia part of your tour - I’ll be first in line at the ticket office!

When i was in Santa Monica when kindergarden we didn’t learn about a fire drill we had to do earthquake drills.lol Danny I feel for ya I love Cali but i do not miss the earthquake’s. I know how those earthquakes seem so scary. I use to feel them when we lived in Vegas, shook the bed and scared me. I can only imagine how it was to actually feel them in Cali. o.k. I am new to this whole blogging thing, but I would like to say, that I am really glad to see you guys back together. It brings back a lot of good memories from those teenage years. It would be so awesome if you guys did something for the “first generation NKOTB fans”. It’s great to see all these young kids enjoying your music today, but don’t forget about all of us. You guys might even be able to do a more close and personal performance without getting your clothes ripped off, since most of us 30 something’s are married you know. Well I can’t exactly speak for everyone. I live in Fontana, about 15 miles from the epicenter of the earthquake. It hit us pretty hard. My kids were really scared! We haven’t had anything hit us that hard in awhile! One little note to Danny, try getting under a table next time that’s supposed to be the safest!! ;P I’m so excited that you guys are spending so much time here on the “Left Coast”. I’m looking forward to seeing you in October. Also going to try and make it out for the signing next week. Your reunion has made my whole year!! Now if the Pats can make it back to The Super Bowl…I’d be the happiest woman in the world!!!

It was sooo much fun, I took so many pictures, I just want to say that I love you guys sooo much especially Donnie, so cool and down earth, he was hugging everyone and really involved with all the girls…and that made me just fall in love with him all over again. I cant wait till the Oct 8th concert. I laughed so hard when I read this blog!!! Danny I am with ya!!! The first earth quake I was in was a bit funny also!!! I was visiting my brother in LA and was in the shower when the shaking began!! Needless to say, my brothers roommate called my brother laughing so hard he could barley breath, telling him how I came screaming out of the shower with shampoo in my hair and nothing else!!! Yeah the first ones are always funny to those who have been through a few! (Donnie!!!)
