NEW BLOG from JOEY MAC!

I guess when I was 16, every now and again I would think, “wow! I am amazing…” or “I did hit that step in an extraordinary fashion…” Its easy to do when you have tens of thousands of people every night screaming your name. Luckily, I never fell into that trap long enough to believe that I was bigger than all of it. Now as an adult, those thoughts never come close to my ego. It’s not about me. Its not about the New Kids. Its about the relationship between us and the fans. The love that it represents is powerful and evidently ever lasting. I am grateful to be a part of it. I had the thought that I would have been just as happy in the crowd at the Kiss Concert watching the New Kids as being up there. There was so much love in that moment that I didn’t care what part I played in it. It just felt good to rejoice over something together with so many people. That being said it was incredible from my perspective.
Everything has gone perfectly. When I look back on The Today Show performance, it just wouldnt have felt right if it didn’t rain. ( I’m sure that the amazing people that showed up for us would beg to differ… “sunny and 70 degrees would have been perfect too, Joe”). When we did that last interview on the stand in the middle of the crowd… Whoa! Another wave of “I thought what we had back in the day was special, but this is crazy!”
This ride has really just begun. We’re gonna have some good times :)
I’m really excited to put this live show together. What a gift to have such a challenge. I say challenge because although its so much fun, we take it very seriously. We want to put on the show of your life time.
Probably the most often said thing from our fans I hear is ” you guys were my first concert!” And thats a very special milestone to behold and be a part of. We cherish that and want to take that to another level x 20.
We’ll keep you posted. Hopefully, you guys will listen and agree with every amazing idea I have :)

Hi, Joey! Thank you soooo much for the blog. NKOTB was my first concert back in 1990; if you knew how strict my parents were, you would be extremely honored that they allowed me to go (of course they were there too:) I’m so happy to hear that this experience is good for you, too! I know this has been quite the thrill for me…your reunion almost seems divine in my life, which sounds a bit idiotic, but it’s very true. Being able to revisit a time when I was full of joy is something not to be taken for granted. I can’t thank you, the rest of the New Kids, and your families for the willingness to come back to all of this chaos. The music is what it’s about as well as this connection with us fans:)

The fans are definitely enjoying it! I think you’re right, this is going to be an amazing experience! I really think this will be the best!!!!! I just hope I get to go to my second NKOTB concert soon!!!! I have to wait for a Nashville, Knoxville, or Charlotte show (shameless begging I know!).

Again, thank you for the sweet blog, and the music is going to be fabulous, the shows will be energetic, and the experience will be priceless for all of us! There is a lot of love, and we’re glad you feel it because we do to! I think having the technology adds to the “closeness” we all feel. It’s a beautiful little New Kids family! Take care, God bless, and I can’t wait to experience the live show!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much love & many blessings, Kimberly, Bristol, VA

  7. JOEYlicious Says:

And I SWEAR that I´ll be there!!!
    U know why, Mr. JoeMac?!?!
Coz I´ll be loving u guys forever and u make me keep on smiling! :)

  8. vendulka Says:

I couldn’t say you were my first concert but I so hope I’ll be able to say “You were my best concert EVER!”
    Really can’t wait.

And thanx for everything you all did so far - every new tune, every new blog, picture or video always brightens up my day.

    Take care,
    Vendulka

  9. Helens_zone Says:

    Hey Joey :)

Thank you for blogging again. It means so much to us! I am unfortunately unable to say that you were my first concert…I was 14 when you first came to the UK in 1989 and 16 when you last toured - I was alone in my fandom and at that age, my folks wouldn’t allow me to go to concerts on my own. I was hoping I’d get to see you in ‘94 but then you guys split up :(

I’m just “keeping my fingers crossed” that you guys do come to the UK so that I can say you were my best ever concert even though I can’t say you were my first! I’m so damn excited that you guys are back doing all this, and that the internet now exists so I can keep up with what you’re doing and watch the performances you’ve done so far! And I CAN’T WAIT for you guys to visit the UK.

Thanks again for the blog Joey…19 years have passed and you STILL rock my world :)

  10. Lena Says:

    Joe,

I’d have so much to tell you, but every time I try to write, all the words seem to vanish from my head. I guess it seems there’s nothing I could say that you haven’t already heard.
So, as my words are already gone by now, what else can I say? Ok, I’ll be repetitive this time. You guys are doing great. This reunion is the best gift you could ever give to us, fans. THANK YOU and congratulations on everything! We can feel how serious you are about this, and how hard you’re working to make this happen the best way possible. And, as I said on Donnie’s last blog, we’ll always be there for you, no matter what, no matter where we are or where you are. I wish you guys, from my heart, all the best, always.

    Love,

  11. Donna-b02 Says:

    Hey Joey Joe,

It is real great to hear from your side of how you see Us, your fans and the emotions you all feel while experiencing such a blessed life. I know it’s probably a long shot….though would Australia be on the cards for a Tour? My kids would join me in going, along with my friends who are fellow Blockheads.

    Lv and Luck Always

  12. IcyTears Says:

Hi Joe! Thanks so much for your post! I can honestly say NKOTB was my first concert! I was only 13 when I became a fan, and 14 when I went to my first concert, and my overprotective parents thought I was too young even then, but they finally let me go :) With my mom, but at least I got to go. lol

  13. froggett Says:

    Hey Joey,

Thanks for your blog, to let us see that you’re enjoying it as much as we do! Love you, always!

Wait for you in Paris, France but I’d go anywhere in Europe to see you! And you’ll be my son’s (he’s 4) 1st concert most probably

    Take care

  14. lac1975 Says:

You weren’t my first concert, rather my second. But y’all were definitely the best! Looking forward to the next being y’all again. I am enjoying this so much. I just want to say thank you.
    Lori

  15. rockergirl Says:

If the concert is anything near the small taste from Zootopia the fans will love it! And, I am sure we will! I know I can hardly wait for more to come! The summer is a long time and I feel like a kid again wishing away time, except instead of wanting the school year to be gone, I want the summer to fade away. :) We know you guys are working hard and the effort will pay off in the end. So far, we love all that you’ve done…no reason for that to change!

Blessings to you & your family!

  16. JessicaK - NL Says:

    Hi Joe!

Thanx for your beautiful words! I have to agree with Kimberdancer: the technology these days is a BIG PLUS!!!! I mean, in the “old days” you would hear stuff like 2 weeks later in some mag. But now you go online, and we get to see the shows and interviews within hours after the fact!!!! This makes it all so intense and ‘family-like’! I feel closer to the fans and the New Kids then ever…I know that might sound silly, but it’s true. I’m enjoying every minute off it, and it’s GREAT to know you guys do too!
Did I hear you give a shout out to Griffin at the Boston show?! That’s sooooo sweet!!!! I bet he’s grown alot. My youngest daughter, Zoey (yes…quilty!), is 1,5 and they grow up so fast! Enjoy him whenever you can, before you know it they are in school (like my eldest Jennifer, she’s turning 7 this year!!! OMG…)!
Ok, enough with the personal stuff… I hope NKOTB will come over to Europe!! We are really looking forward on seeing all 5 of you again. Maybe I’ll bring Jenn, she really wants to come…but I don’t know yet. It’s kinda…”my thing”, if you know what I mean. Just me and the Dutchies…hangin’ tough with the New Kids! SEE YA!!!! Joe Mac’s in tha House! Oh yeah…
    *hugs* Jessica”K” - NL

    Oh God… I better not cry…

It’s been an amazing ride so far… even from thousand of miles away on the other end of the world. No matter how much we can thank you, it’s never enough to show how much we love and appreaciate what has happenned so far!

As everyone else, I’m also lost for words. Thank you for you heartfelt blog. You guys are doing great and with each new blog, each show, each song we are loving you more and more each day. :D

You’re all always in my prayers… All the best in all you do, always. :)

What is it with you guys and these blogs?!
You all always say just the right thing and manage to bring some of us to tears.
Well, This year will be my first NKOTB concert. I couldn’t be more exicted. I was watching the video for “The Right Stuff” and while sitting there it hit me…”I am finally going to see you guys live!”
Besides my children being born, I cant imagine a happier moment.
I have waited 19 years for this…and I was tired of waiting. LOL.

Thank you guys for doing this and letting us experience it with you all over again.

  23. anilam18 Says:

Yet again I get tears in my eyes from reading a blog. And this time it’s from the man I have loved since I was 12. Thank you Joe for your special words. They are very heartfelt, we can feel the love from all over the world. I am so looking forward to this amazing ride. I have loved every second of it so far and I am so glad I have been here from the beginning. I was at the Today show and although, yes, it would have been nice to have 70 and sunny, I agree with you that something about it raining made it even more special.

Thank you, thank you and thank you again for being such wonderful men (especially you Joe!) and truly appreciating your fans. I believe that is one reason why we all have an enduring love for you guys. And thank you for coming back and giving us another ride at a time in all our lives that we could really use it!

    HUGS and KISSES!!!

  24. NKOTB_Addict77 Says:

    Joey,

You weren’t my first concert, but it was the first one where I got to choose the band, I paid for the tickets, and I went without adult supervision. I felt like such a grown up — and you guys made it all worth it.

I have to admit, initially, I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to do the whole concert thing this time around, but you guys have really shown me how authentic and “for-the-fans” you are. I would just kick myself if I missed this concert — especially since I live in one of the towns where you will be performing. I can’t wait to see you.

  25. NinaG Says:

First I must apologise for my very bad one in English. I come from Germany and my school hours already are for a while.

3 weeks ago I have found out that NKOTB have got together again as a Band and play musik again. My first reaction: I have cried – for hours! I am totally inspired and now I could start again! At that time, unfortunately, to the Germany concerts I could not go, because I was still too young and nobody wanted to go with me together to the concert.

Now I hope that the music hits in Germany again like a flash and soon gives to hear it completely a lot from NKOTB in Germany and to see. During the last 13 years I have wished every year in New Year’s Eve that NKOTB play musik again. And, finally, it is had become!!!!

I love you – NKOTB and every fan who has never stopped being a fan!

    Good luck and take care,

  30. newkids4ever Says:

NKOTB was my first 6 concerts and I will never forget them! 32. jmj8829 Says:

Amazing! You guys are absolutely amazing. You were my first and second co concert. You were actually my first concert that I camped out 2 nights in order to get great seats just to see you up close. I was fortunate enough to meet you and Donnie when I was 14 years old. My grandmother at 80 years old tells the story of her ambushing you two while you were trying to eat just so I could meet you in Knoxville, TN (so sorry she did this). The best part of this story is that it caused my girls to start asking questions about the group and wanting to hear your songs! Now….they have fallen in love with Joey Mac the same way I did “back in the day”. My 11 year old watches old videos from concerts, news interviews, and anything else she can find on the internet just to find out more about you and the rest of the guys. These girls get me so tickled every night. In one weeks time they both have all of your songs on their ipod. The best part is watching and listening to my 6 year old running around the house with her ipod on - just as loud as it can be singing Please Don’t Go Girl at the top of her lungs. I would love to say that NKOTB would be their first concert too but I had to endure the Cheetah Girls two years ago and just missed Hannah Montana by the skin of my teeth. I will be taking the two of them to see you guys in either Atlanta or Cleveland and I can’t wait to see the look in thier eyes when they see all five of you on stage for the first time. Thank you guys for giving me the joy again to experience this all over and to experience the “hype” as a mother watching my girls react the same way I did. I just don’t know how patient they will be to wait until October!
And on another note - I am so happy for you guys. The reception you have received is overwhelming for me. I could only imagine what it must feel like to experience this in your shoes. You all deserve every bit of the love from the fans that you are receiving. God bless all of you and your families.

  33. mlskitten74 Says:

the new kids on the block was my first concert and i will never forget it. i can’t wait to see them again. my little 6 year old daughter loves “summertime” too. she tries to sing along with the song. thank you

  34. jumpnj Says:

I was actually never able to see the New Kids back in the day. When New Kids were performing at the time I was 10-14 and my parents would never take me. Unfortunately, the concert cherry was popped back when I was 15 or 16 when my parents wanted to see an artist in Branson, MO and I was bored as hell. So now at 28 I still hadn’t found a concert I was willing to go to, until now. I love the new sound and can’t wait to see New Kids in Chicago.

  35. Isa Says:

    Hi Joe,

    thanks for posting again :-)
I wish I could have been present at the Today Show, I saw the videos and I can say that it was really great!!
I’m so happy that you have got back together and I hope to see you soon in Europe :-)
You will be my very first concert and I’m proud of it.
I know you guys take this challenge very seriously, we can see it and I must say that your new songs are beautiful!
It always makes me smile when I hear you saying that it was incredible to see how much fans you still have :-) It’s normal because you’re all unique to us. I really think your reunion will be a huge success
Thanks again for this beautiful dream that has come true!

  36. jusgirl20 Says:

    Joe-
I want to thank you so much for everything! NKOTB was my first concert :) I am so glad that you guys are back. This means so much for me and the fans. My prayers has been answered! I can’t see you and the rest of the guys when ya’ll head to Texas (Dallas show). What’s so funny Joe is that I am a married woman with twin girls acting like a 12 year old…haha I probably be acting like that when I go to your concert! Haha I’m going to feel sorry for my friends :o) Just wanted to let you know that you mean A LOT to me and I am forever graceful for everything you do. Thank you guys for doing this and letting us experience it with you all over again!!!

    Love-

  37. Joy78 Says:

    Joe,
Thank you so much for your post, it came in just at the right time of the day!
I can also say you were my first concert, in Germany in 1991, and I hope it won’t be too long until the second time. After all I’ve seen and heard in the past weeks, I’m convinced it will be the show of my lifetime ;) Thanks so much for everything!

    Love, Joy :)

  38. Liz79 Says:

    Hi Joe!
Thank you for writing another blog, it’s so exciting to read your thoughts about everything that happens right now. :) You guys were my first concert back in Stockholm, -91. You were also my second in Gothenborg the same year. I really wish I could say you will be my next concert, that is if you make it to Sweden this tour. Anyway, I’m sure you are going to put together an amazing show!!
    Love, Elisabet

  39. mdillon77 Says:

    Joe,

Not my first concert….but definitely the best! That was in 89. Followed by a second NKOTB concert in 89….and then again by the Magic Summer concert in 1990. To this day, that remains a very magical summer for me! That was the closest I ever got to meeting any of you…I had 10th row seats and made it to the stage and touched Donnie and Jordan. I am going (hopefully) to your Dallas show, but with 4 kids, I’ll be doing good just to get tickets.
At 31, I still find myself getting very defensive when people talk badly about NKOTB…it’s amazing how quickly I can become 11 again :-)

I hope this experience is as incredible for you guys as it is for us fans!!!

    Love,
    Marcy

But for now LOL, I can only keep myself composed online, in person I still go crazy like a 17 year old girl.

    We’ll love you guys forever

    Jen

    Joe-
I want to thank you so much for everything! NKOTB was my first concert I am so glad that you guys are back.

    Love-
    Sarah

as always … We are happy with the come back, is still incredible everything that is happening, as every little thing that happens affects our lives and change it positively …

    thanks once again …

and … we expect them in South America xD

god bless you and your family …

  52. allisonbp Says:

    Joe,
Thanks so much for taking the time to write for us. You must know that even now (as we did back in the day) we hang on every word and every detail of information we can get on ya’ll!

It warms my heart to know that you feel this connection too and that it’s not just us crazy fans! There is something special there. It’s almost as if you guys have this bond with your fans that is not typical of other musical groups. You really care for us and we care for you. We love you guys so much and we are so happy that YOU’RE happy. We love seeing you together again, making music, goofing off, just being friends again.

You didn’t have to do this reunion. You were successful enough the first time around and you all have had success as indivduals. We really feel like you are doing it for us fans and that is an incredible feeling. Thank you Joe.

…and NKOTB was my first concert, I was 15. :)

    Love,
    Allison

    HHi Joe,

I love that this go round we have the internet - blogs are great!

I was a t the TOday Show (back left stage - don’t get me started) and I couldn’t hear a word you all were saying. When I got home and watched it and heard what you said about the fans it brought me to tears. And now - this blog - and more tears. My husband ( a hater ) likes to tell me that you guys don’t care about the fans - well I know he’s wrong. THanks Joe!

I’ll be seeing you in East Rutherford, Las Vegas, Houston, San Antonion, Dallas, and Tampa in the fall.

    God Bless,

    Amanda

  54. ktsummer Says:

    Hi Joe,
I’m so happy to read that you guys could feel our love and energy at the Today show. That’s exactly why I went. Even though after waiting for 10 hours I could only see you guys through the angled viewfinder of my camera (which I had to hold way up in the air so all the rain water ran down my sleeves, so, yeah, 70 and sunny would have been nice), I didn’t care. I was there for kind of the same reason you go to a wedding. You want the people in front of you to be surrounded with love and support, even if they don’t see you personally.

I can’t wait to see you guys close up at the Izod center in September, and I really really can’t wait to hear the new album!

Thank you guys so much for coming back!
    Katie

  55. Jenni Says:

    Joe,

There is nothing better than waking up and reading a blog from you Joey! You brought tears to my eyes just like Donnie’s blog did. You are right, there is an intense love between you guys and us the fans. You were my first crush and my first concert!! I was 14 yrs old when I fell hard for NKOTB!! I think I have fallen harder for you guys this time around….if that is possible. Being at the Today show was an amazing experience and I was right there when you were on that platform…..your right it was crazy…intensely crazy!!! I could feel the love and see the looks of amazement on your faces. It was a moment I will NEVER forget!!

Thanks for this incredible reunion! Thanks for being who you are Joe! You stole my heart at 14 and you will always have a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to..no I am incredibly excited about seeing you guys in Texas! I will be there at all three concerts! If I could I would be at all your concerts but I guess one trip to NYC and running around TX will have to be enough for now.

Oh, and I think the rain was perfect in some way I can’t explain….I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way now that I look back on it.

    Love always,
    Jenni (aka Joey4ever)

  56. marymac Says:

Yes NKOTB were my first concert also and i had the pleasure of meeting you in 1998 the best news i heard that you were getting back together.

  57. jcchase4 Says:

    WOW! JM!
You were my first concert when I was 12 in 1990, I actually went to two of your concerts in Massachusetts.

You were great at the Today Show (from what I saw behind the stage :) I went home and bragged that we “locked eyes” during your interview on stage when you were facing the back of the stage (even though there were 100 girls in front of me ;) though its a nice thought to have.

    See you in D.C.

I’m so glad you guys are back! We all missed you!

  58. coach-corrie-in-florida Says:

You were my first concert too! Thank you for the kind words Joey - you all made life so much fun - and I felt like you were in my living room each day as I watched my NK Videos. This reunion extravaganza makes me feel like a kid again….YEAH THE BLOCK IS BACK! :-)

Your Today Show left me speechless….Your NEW KIDS FLORIDA FANS are on their way to BEANTOWN to see you live….in September….can’t wait for the show.

Best of Luck to you all in your new adventure - your fans are STILL here, cheering you on and looks like we are never going anywhere - you guys ROCK!

I am honored to be a part of this RIDE and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us! I am up for anything!!

Thanks for blogging again, Joe! You guys are all so sweet, and almost TOO humble! Jordan used to ask whether we’d be lovin’ you guys forever…we all said yes and MEANT IT! :) I was at all three shows and met you at Macy’s and it was an unbelievably great weekend. And, Joe, you were particularly great — what a moment with you and hat with no top at the Today Show! :D Hope you guys will keep some things going during the summer to help us all make it through to the fall. Words can’t tell you how excited I am for the fall tour, and it’s great you’re just as excited.

(P.S. Give Jordan a little nudge to blog!)

You made me cry…….!!! It’s so good to hear from you! Unfortunately I wasn’t at the Today show.. quite far from Italy..
I really hope you’ll come to Italy (or near!) so I’ll be able to see a NKOTB concert for the first time!!! I found so many italian girls that have the same dream ;)
    take care ;)

  63. NKOTBFanForever Says:

WOW!!!! That was a wonderful post! I was crying as I read it! It really touched my heart! I know even watching from home, I was thankful to be a part of it. It WAS a beautiful moment!!! This reunion is the best reunion that has ever happened in the history of reunions!!! You were a big part of my life growing up and it just means sooo much now as a mom that I can share your music with my daughter, too! Of course, it feels great acting like a teenager all over again, standing in front the TV screaming and crying. LOL! I have no shame in admitting that. If you ask my 5 year old, she says that I was like a hysterical monster. LOL!

Hope to catch one of the concerts, if you come to NEW ORLEANS!!!!!! You filmed the Right Stuff here, so you should come back to the Superdome to play!!!!!!! It’s only right!!!!!

    Brandi

  64. wtgerkat Says:

    Hi Joe,
It was nice to see your post this morning. I just wanted you all, to know how awesome it is that you are back. You guys were my first concert and the most memorable time of my life. Now that your back I have reverted to a 15 year old (with more responsibilities =) again and I’m lovin’ it. You guys still rock and always will. I am so bummed I could make it to the first three shows but I will be seeing you in Denver. Good Luck and have fun.

  65. Sherry76 Says:

    Hi Joe!

I must say that waking up to find a new blog from you has made my day! :) You guys were my first concert. My mom didn’t want to get me tickets and I had to cry until I made myself physically ill to get them. It was completely worth it! I can remember the day so clearly….waiting all day in school, knowing I’d actually be seeing NKOTB that night. I can even remember songs that played on the radio on the hour long drive to the venue. It was quite literally one of the most memorable events of my life.

I’ve had to revert to acting like a 14 year old and I’ve thrown quite the hissy fit to get my husband to agree to take me to a concert this time around. Again, I’m sure it will be worth all the “grow up” jokes I’ve had to endure from my husband. I’m ready to make new memories with you guys, and like everyone else, I’m honored to be along for the ride. I can’t wait to see what y’all have in store for us!

    XOXO,
    Sherry :)

  66. salbash Says:

Thank you for putting your heart and soul into this. It means a lot to us fans and we can’t wait to see the end result. Take care and have a great summer!

  67. Fan forever Says:

What can we really say to you to thank you for this gift that you have given us…your fans.
Its funny, I had thought about you guys over the years and as time went on it was like the door to that part of my memory was closing …ever so slowly. It was like I would listen to a song and the door would fling wide open…and that is one amazing feeling.
I saw interviews where you in particular had mentioned the “brotherhood” you shared. I think all the fans will agree that we too belong to a family. When i see people’s reaction and the crazyness it just feels like you never left. I think all of us have moved on in life…marriage and kids etc….but its so strange how….when we see u guys together the feelings are so charged…you guys need to have a medical term named after you …coz whatever it is you do its universal! It hits everyone in the same way, in the same spot…..thank you for giving us a chance to experience this a second time…….God Bless.

  68. Belladawna Says:

Hey Joe! I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to jot down a few thoughts for us! The simple fact that you (and all the guys) are so appreciative and humble only intensifies the love. While you weren’t my first concert (that was the Beach Boys LOL), I can’t wait to see you for the first time in Toronto on Sept 21st (with any luck, I’ll get to meet you all some day too!)!!

    Thanks again, Joe!!

    Lots of Love,
    Dawn

    Joe,
I was so happy to be part of the come back concert on The Today show!! Waiting in the rain and sleeping in the street was totaly worth it!!! My friends and I have bought 5 Star VIP for the CT show at the Mohagan Sun, I cant not wait to meet you guys and show you how happy we are that you guys are back. We have been waiting for a long time and are so thankful that it has happen. My 14 year old daughter has been listening to Summertime alot!!!
    See you in CT!!!

  70. dnhamilton Says:

I cannot express how happy I am that you are all back for another kick at the can. The only things you and I share are age and children and most of all the love of music. I saw you when you performed in Calgary, AB lets say in 1990? My husband (boyfriend at the time) drove my best friend and I from BC to the concert. We attended with one of my sisters. Let me tell you, it was all that they could do from preventing me from launching myself off of the first balcony onto the stage. They said that they will never forget the expression on my face when you all appeared on stage…it was priceless. And yet here we are again today, and I am looking forward to seeing all of you again in Montreal in September. My husband is still amazed by my behaviour. What an I say? I feel like a teenager again.
I am looking forward to traveling from Nelson, BC all the way to Montreal with one of my sisters. We will have a wonderful time. And I thank my hubby as well- he’ll be home with the children!
I am very happy that this is making all of you so very happy.
    Keep up the hard work!
    Nina,

    F*ck The Rest!

  72. Lilac18 Says:

Thanks Joe. I don’t cry easily and you had me in tears with that one. It’s so great that you seem to understand what your fans are all feeling right now. We blog with each other all the time about not even being able to comprehend how much love we feel for you guys and how this whole new kids community is like a family. No other band has this. The reason you guys get so much love from us and that it is “everlasting” is that you send it right back at us, very few people in the public spotlight are humble enough to do that and you guys always have, even 20 years ago. For that, I will always love you right back and dream of the day when I can give you a big huge hug to show you how much you mean to me and all the rest of the “new kids family”. We are also so happy that your real family is so willing to share you with us and that is why everyone has been so eager to welcome Barrett and Griffin with open arms (I always thought I would be jealous if you got married, but how could I not love Barrett, she’s awesome!).

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for the blog!
    Love you!

  73. JordansGirl Says:

    Joe,

The 5 of you are so special. I think you get “it”- what you mean to us. And you all, always, make us feel like we mean something to you, too.

Only one other musician has ever had any devotion from me in my 30 years… and I was everso unfortunate to meet him for about 45 seconds, and he treated me like a burden. My fanhood for him began it’s decline at that moment and now, I do not support him at all.

I said that to say that I cannot express to the 5 of you enough how much I appreciate your respect for us. My fan relationship with that other musician lasted about 1 year… but the way I feel about the 5 of you has lasted almost my entire life. It is your talent and your showmanship that started it. But on top of all that, it is your respect and honor for your fans and your ability to stay grounded that has earned your keep in the hearts of so many of us. So, thank you, thank you, thank you. To you, Joe… and all of you!

    See you in September!!
    With much love and respect,
    Natasha.

That’s so funny – New Kids was my first concert too! I was 10 years old, it was the Magic Summer Tour and my mom was in line for two days to get me tickets. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited than I was when she surprised me with those tickets! 18 years later, I’m reliving that excitement all over again. Thank you all so much for this reunion tour – we’ve hoped for this for so long and it has definitely been worth the wait!

  80. miss_ava Says:

Joe, Joe, Joe. I actually agree with you. Yes, it would have been nice if it wasn’t raining just like Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday but tha fact that it rained hard only on the day, the TIME, that you guys performed, made it all that much more special. It really showed the tenacity of how much we want this reunion because we stuck it out there with you guys and I’m so proud of you all for doing the concert in the soaking rain. That was my first NKOTB concert experience ever and you guys made it surreal for me. Even though I never thought I would cap out for 32 hours to see ANYONE perform, you guys brought out the persistance, the fun, and the passion in me. Thank you so much for loving us. We love you more!! :)

  81. mel.c Says:

Joe, Your blog put tears in my eyes… it is so great to hear that you all as excited about this new album and tour as we the fans are.
New Kids was my first concert and all of this excitment is bringing me back to that time, it was a good time and it’s nice to be back in that frame of mind!
Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to hear the new songs and see you all on Tour.

    Melissa
PS.. Please let Jordan know his fans are anxiously awaiting his first blog :-)

  82. WendyJo Says:

    Hey Joey,

Yep, you guys were my first. And you know what they say about that… you never forget your first. :)
I feel bad for all the other artists I saw after you… they always had to be compared to NKOTB, and none of them could ever surpass the feeling I got when I was with you… LOL

Joking aside, you guys just evoke such passion and emotion from your fans… and I genuinely believe it’s because you give back what we give you. It’s a give and take, wheras other entertainers just take, take, take. You guys come out into the mob to shake hands, take pictures, sign autographs… you reach out from the stage to touch as many people as you can… that shows that you actually appreciate your fans.

I’m hoping we get more than 6 years together this time. ;) It takes time to do it right. LOL

I’m just interested to see what you all are like now that we’re all grown ups. :o) Most of us are married, parents, in careers. Now we’ll see if you guys are better performers than the Wiggles (I don’t know, tough act to follow…)

BTW - come to Calgary, AB!! GAH Why do bands always do Edmonton and not Calgary….!??

  85. dooniemom3 Says:

Thank you so much for getting back together!! You guys were my first concert and my only concert until two years ago. I remember my aunt taking me to your concert when I was little. I was super excited to be there and was not bothered by the fact that even with binoculars you guys looked liked ants. Our seats were about ten rows from the very top of the Cincinnati stadium. I did manage to get a few pictures, obviously not very good ones being as far away that I was. I was young and did not know about camera film and light…..Yeah…..I was so excited to see the pictures that I pulled all of the film out of the camera right under the lamp so that I could see what I was doing. I do not have any proof that I was at the concert only memories. Knowing that I was there is the best gift of all…..but I would like to have a better experience. PLEASE PLEASE Come to Cincy and help me relive one of my favorite memories!!! I love you guys…..always have and always will!!!

I love the fact that my favorite all time group is back! It makes me fell so good about life again! You 5 have brought me back out of a dark place in my life and I am the happiest I have been for a really long time. I even got my daughter very excited too! She loves your song summertime! Thank you so much for coming back! My life is now complete that you all are back in it! I love you Joe, Jon, Jordan, Danny & Donnie! With all 5 of you in my life again my heart beats again! Awwwww Joe, you’re gonna make me cry…:)

When I was 13 (and hopelessly in love with you! :D), it was difficult being a die-hard New Kids fan in Malaysia. The magazines can only offer so much, and I had to live your concerts through the experience of my penpals. My collection of memorabilias was extensive, but I wasn’t even aware there were New Kids marbles - the news just never reached our shores. You were stars in every sense of the word - illuminating, yet distant and out of reach.

It never crossed my mind that 15 years later, I would be able to share my feelings and excitement not only with my fellow Blockheads from around the world, but with you guys as well. You and the rest of the guys know that we fans love you, and you have made us feel that we are loved in return - for that I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

I too am extremely grateful that I am part of this powerful relationship which has proven it can stand the test of time. It has been an exhilarating ride so far - I can’t wait to continue this journey and experience the rest of YOUR amazing ideas ;)

Take care & lots of love,

  89. Queen of Scots Says:

    Oh Joe,
thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us! Your blog really touched my heart. Yes, you guys were my first concert in May 1991. Other concerts by other artists that followed during the years were great and very professional, but one thing between those artists and me was missing: the connection and the love. And I must say that I can feel it even more today than I could feel it all those years ago, definitely partly because of the internet and how we can now easily interact with you and other fans.
So, thank you for everything all those years ago and even more for what you are doing today. But please don’t neglect your families because of us fans. We can wait. We are patient. And we’ll always be there for you. Well, you have figured that out by now ;-)

    Much love,

NKOTB!!! You were my first concert. My mom took me almost 20 years ago. And last weekend at Zootopia you were my daughters first concert as well (she is 7…not much younger than I was at my first concert). It was so emotional for me. I was able to share my first experience with my daughter. And since I was able to take my mom with me she got to enjoy both of our first concerts with you. I cried. It was very touching.

Also, our seat were right on the side of the stage. So I could see while you were getting ready to perform. I have to say that the sight of all of you hudled together right before you took the stage was amazing. I could almost feel you excitment.

I am soooo glad you decided to get together again. I can not wait to see you in AC in September.

    THANK YOU!!!

You guys were my first concert at the Sainger Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana. I loved you guys then and I am still loving you guys.

  93. Kaydells Says:

Joey Joe!! You have grown into such a wonderful man even through all of the hype. Kudos to you!!!!! Thank you for not letting all of the hype go to your beautiful head. I will agree with the other fans when we say, I hope this is not a one album, one tour, reunion. Although you have all had individual success in your lives, the 5 of you together is nothing less than pure magical. Words cannot describe how the “New Kids” affect their fans. It is nice to hear that we fans may in some way shape or form have a similar affect on you guys as well. The fans are behind you guys for as long as you will ride the ride. The NKOTB freight train has started, and hopefully the final destination has yet to be determined.

THANK YOU for bringing us “BLOCKHEADS” back to life. A part of my life was dead for so long. I listen to “Summertime” and all of your old stuff, and I can’t stop smiling the whole way through it. People at work think I have lost my mind. As long as I am playing NKOTB; nothing seems to get me down.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

    Congrats on the new family!!

See you in Denver, Atlanta, and Vegas!!

Thank You so much for taking the time to post this blog Joe!

I have been a fan since I was 10-11 years old and am now nearing 32 (eeeeek thanks for the reminder lol). I think you are a beautiful man (as I am sure you have heard many times before) and I think the NK’s are all incredibly talented and handsome.

The way you all relate to your fans touches my heart and I never regret a minute I have spent as a fan, nor a dollar I spent on your merchandise. You all are the best group a fan could ever want to love!

In my teen years, my parents couldnt afford tix for me to go to your shows but compromised and I got to see all the pay per views. I have tapes out the wazoo and have never parted with any of them. I am going (FINALLY) to my first concert in September at the IZOD Center in NJ and can’t wait. It’s going to be the happiest moment I have ever experienced because it reminds me of when I was a teen and cried because I couldnt go to a show. It’s like the best gift you could ever imagine anyone giving you… I finally get my show! :-)

Thanks for getting back together. Your hard work will never be underappreciated by your fans.

    XOXOXOX
    Gail from NJ

    Joe,

Thank you to you, Jordan, Donnie, Danny and Jon for making my teenage years the best they could be! I still remember going to a concert in August 1990, and the Magic Summer Tour being a highlight of my youth. I am even more excited to see you guys perform in 2008, and I think I can speak for all fans when I say “We are ready!”.

    Hugs to all you guys!

    Laura

  96. Di Says:

Hi, I live in Scotland and only found out last week that the New Kids had got back together - so excited!!!
I went to their first ever UK concert in Edinburgh, and even though it wasn’t my first concert, I was definitely my most memorable.
Can’t wait to here some more from you guys.
    xx

  97. spursfan Says:

I wish I could say that you guys were my first concert, but that’s not true. I did see Jordan in concert when I went to my first concert. So now I can’t wait to see you in concert when I and if I go to your concert in SA on October 17th.

    Love U, Kathy

  98. hummingbirdbleu Says:

    Joey…. Joey!!

I love this. Every second of it is like an absolute dream. We really grew up together didn’t we? Because of that we have such a bond with each other. I am incredibly thankful to all of your family members who may find out that it was like you never left.

You guys were my first concert too, and the only concert I would ever consider attending by flying across the country for, or going to at least three of them (I’ll go to more if I can). I am so excited because we love the old material, and ALL the new material we’ve heard is INCREDIBLE so far. You guys have remained humble about all of this… that’s amazing too. The love you show us and the appreciation is something I’ve never had from any other music group. I feel like we know each other, and that we really do MATTER to one another.

I keep thinking I’m going to wake up and it’ll have been a dream the whole time. This is the most wonderful thing to happen in a long time. I will continue to support my love for you guys forever.

There’s probably nothing I can say that hasn’t been said before, but DAMN JOEY MAC!! Thank you! Thank you to you, the guys, and your family members.

This time we get to read blogs and respond to them and bond with our fellow fans… obviously back in the day we didn’t have these opportunities so it’s a new experience
again. We love the videos of you guys goofing around - the infamous 2girls video is SOOOO funny and even though the content is what it is, the spotlight is really on you guys interacting with each other the way you do. It was PRICELESS! Each time you watch it you get something else out of it.

THANK YOU for everything!! I hope this time will be as incredible for you as it is for us. Every second is like a little treasure. Like a little gold mine. I feel rich in spirit again, inspired, alive. You reconnected us to our young selves again and it feels really good. Life comes along and sweeps us up in it’s day to day realities, but this is an escape from all of that. A return to when your music and your presence helped us all through some very difficult times, and some very joyous, carefree times.

I LOVE YOU FOR ALL YOU ARE, AND ALL THAT YOU DO!

THANK YOU JOEY MAC, THANK YOU NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY SOON-TO-BE-THIRTY HEART!!

  102. Pao Says:

    Joe,

You guys WERE my first of SO MANY THINGS!!! and what an amazing opportunity that I can get it all back, for a minute, or a lifetime!!!

You were my first concert, and ever since then, my standards in music have only gotten more and more demanding!!! I love you guys for it. It makes me feel that I owe you THAT as well.

I just want to say this as short and sweet as possible (still recovering from Bronchitis I got from the Today Show…but I am NOT BLAMING YOU!!! I would have done what I did - sit in line for over 15 hours - 100,000 times more if it meant that I’d be as close as possible to the 5 guys that changed the course of my life FOREVER)

You are an amazing guy… incredibly talented and not so bad looking! ;)

    Thank for coming back!!!

    All my love and support,

    Pao

PS: you went to the same school as my sister in St. Mary’s!!! I got to see you at an end of the year performance, and you ROCKED THE HOUSE, my friend!!! You had graduated already, I think…but they had asked you to come back for that one performance…

  103. lisa_sullivan Says:

Thanks Joey! That is so awesome! We love hearing how you guys are feeling about this reunion, because honestly, if you guys weren’t hyped up about it, it just wouldn’t be the same! We love you all and look forward to seeing you live! Thanks for taking the time to keep us all posted! :)

  104. Missie-32 Says:

Joey: It has been so much fun to see how you 5 interact with one another. Seriously the bond you 5 have is so great. It’s like you were never apart! And with that it’s like we were never apart from you 5! Yes we all “grew up” but that bond is still there. And being able to interact with you all, this time around is just awesome!!! We truly feel the sincerity in each of your posts. With that being said I can’t wait to hear from you more as the summer goes on and as you guys get ready to hit the road again!!! I am so excited to hear the entire cd. I have been playing “Summertime” over and over again just like I did with your other tapes back in the day….I love it!!!! I can’t wait to see you in Salt Lake in November!!!!! Take care and God Bless you all!!!!

YOU GUYS WERE MY FIRST CONCERT!!
In Stockholm, Sweden, November 1st 1991 you and the guys rocked the roof off the Globe arena!!
I can´t wait till you come back and do it again.
This time I can afford not one but hopefully several concerts.
I hope you make at least a few stops in Sweden but I will travel to see you, believe me I will!!
To see you together on stage again is mindblowing.
The bond I see you guys have is admirable.

To hear from you in this manner, something that never happened “back in the day” is bringing you closer to us.
I feel closer to you now (God Bless the internet =0) )than I ever did and I can follow you closer.
Imagine how it would be if we didn´t have internet… I´d still be in the blue I guess hehe.

    Joe,
Thanks so much for the post. It’s so awesome to have you guys back together. You bring back so many great memories. New Kids was my first concert back in July of 1989 at Kings Island in Cincinnati. I loved every minute of it even though we were like 5 rows from the back and you were all little specks on stage!! Finally, 18 years later I was able to meet you after a DWTS show and again after a show you did in Indianapolis. You were so nice and it was totally worth the wait. Thanks for giving your fans another opportunity to make more memories with the New Kids. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you again at the first Chicago show! Take care!

Also, a few of my new friends (”old”)-New Kids Blockheads will be going to see you with us. We cannot wait to see all of you!! Again, this has been well worth the wait. But, alas, THE WAIT IS OVER!! NKOTB was supposed to be my first concert. but my mom was so overprotective, I never got to see you guys, so this is truly a dream come true. I am happy in my bones, I can’t even express it. It feels like you guys are so surprised that so many people are buying tickets to your shows, but trust me, to your fans, this is the event of a lifetime. Can’t wait to see you guys!

  117. ElizabethGere Says:

Your post always get me teary eyed! Even when you did them on your site! You guys just totally rock! I’m so looking forward to seeing what all you have planned for us fans and you guys! The fall can’t get her fast enough.

Just as you said and many others have said. The Block was also my first concert. And all the shows I have seen after that of other bands have never made me feel the way I did when I saw the block! I’m looking forward to that feeling Oct 29.

Also if you guys add more dates can you please add TN in there. Nashville is very ready!

Thanks Joe!!! I love hearing from you guys, I think it is amazing hear that you and the guys feel the same things that the fans are feeling. We love that you guys are back and bringing back all these wonderful feelings. I’m so giddy right now waiting for the concerts and watching to see if you are on tv. It is like being transported back to 1989, it is great I feel 10 again. You have made my 29 b-day even more special. I cannot thank you enough. There are not enought thanks in the world.

    Joetta Mozingo

p.s. You were my first concert.

  119. Rachm Says:

Thank you Joe. Everytime you guys post a blog, it just get’s sweeter and sweeter. Yes, you were my first concert too - Sunday 13 May 1990 at the London Docklands Arena and I was 15, nearly 16!

It is such an amazing thing to be part of, what we - the fans and the group - have - and no one else can possibly understand, but I’m glad in a way as that makes it all the more special. People now want to try and understand but unless they are part of it like we are they can’t come close.

You are right, our love for you guys is there forever. Someone said to me when I was leaving school (I’m now 33!), once a Blockhead, always a Blockhead, and I agreed. I’m so proud to be a fan of such a wonderful, caring, gorgeous, talented, fantastic group. I love you guys so much. Please come to the UK soon so we can thank you personally for all your kind words and try to explain just how happy we are that you are back and how excited we are. You know, we all seemed to have needed this kind of excitement back in our lives again and this is just the right time.

    Love

    Hey Joe!!!

You’ll be my second concert even I’ll feel like a teenager again so that will be my first lol
You, guys, became so famous when you were young but you kept your feet on earth and we never heard or read something bad about you! When people laugh at me because I still love you (18 years) that’s one of the reason I give about my love and respect for you. Nobody’s perfect of course ;-)
You made us the most amazing surprise with your reunion. Thanx again for all the happiness you give me :-)
I can’t wait to heard your album and to see you on concert!!
    Love,

  121. Kelley Says:

    Joe,

Hard to believe that after so many years, and after so much has changed in my life, I am still a diehard New Kids on the Block fan. I’ll jump in with the rest and say that NKOTB was my first concert too. We were in the very back of the arena and ever since then I have vowed to get front row next time–come on I Love All Access, please don’t give me tenth row! ;) I saw you from the front row a few times in 1999, but the energy was different then. There was such a struggle for recognition from anything other than the TRL crowd, and as good as it was, it didn’t feel like it does now.

I can’t wait to actually meet all five of you and then see you on stage up close. When you are together, it’s MAGIC, and that’s why I hope that you stick together this time even if it’s in name only. There will always be solo careers because you are adults and you have your own visions–but why break up something so beautiful that you can always return to? Keep it there for the fans just like we have always kept it there for you. :)

    See you in Detroit!!!!!!!!

    xo Kelley

  122. Gail JK Lady Says:

Yey Joe. That relationship between you guys & us, the fans, is what made me a die hard NK fan! I’d heard you & seen you on TV but when I went to a concert & felt like you all were having so much fun & that you were including us right along with you I was taken in. I was a mom at the concert & a music lover so I’d been to MAAANNNY shows before but never had a group make me feel like that! I fell in love right then & there & although my kids like different music now, I haven’t stopped being a fan for a single day in 18 & a half years. I even did an off line 44 page bi-monthly fanzine along with it’s international group of members. I now have a MY SPACE page called Gail’s Jordan Knight Experience with over 12,500 views. I never regret a moment of time I spend being an active fan. It’s brought me endless enjoyment & many wonderful friends all thanks to you guys! I love you all! Gail

  123. missjuls Says:

That was one of the greatest things I have read all day. Its amazing to hear your side of this crazy yet amazing madness. You were in fact my first concert and it was one I will forever remember. You guys were full of such energy and fun. But what was even more amazing was being at the kiss concert and waiting and waiting all day for the reunion of NKTOB right in front of my eyes. I woke up that morning so excited and I put on my nkotb shirt from way back in the day (yes it still fits). I bought lawn seats so I thought to myself, I won’t even be as close as I want. But then Romeo (Kiss 108 DJ) saw my AMAZING nkotb shirt and upgraded my seats. The second you guys stepped on that stage it was the greatest rush ever. The energy and love in that venue was unreal. Tears, yelling, smiling, and jammin along to your songs is all I saw from every fan, along with myself. You guys have so much love! Thank-you for reuniting and bringing back great music! I can’t wait to welcome you guys back home again in September at the Garden.

    -Julie

  124. ksardis Says:

It’s funny because when you guys did your last interview in the middle of the crowd on the Today Show, I was right here and I saw your face and at one point you mouthed “Wow.” I can’t tell you how much that means to your fans, that you love us just as much as we love you. I even wrote a post about it on the community board, that you guys looked so touched. And you were my first concert (I believe I told you that when I interviewed you back in 2004 for a celeb weekly I worked at). Can’t wait to see you guys in concert!

  125. tmoney23 Says:

Joey I am Glad that you guys are back in the light. I have told my wife for years that you guys would be back together. I am here to ask you guys for 2 things. The first is her in Iowa we were hit with a Tornado that ruined 1 town and left alot of others in pieces. I know you guys have a busy summer but I figured I dont know how to get in touch with any other celebrities that may be able to help so hoping you read this blog. The second would be and probably here this all the time but, it is worth a shot. I am hoping I can go to your concert in the twin cities, if it is not sold out and if I can finatially afford it. I am wanting to do all access, the chance to meet the guys I mold my life after would be one of the highlights of my life. Getting married and having kids and watching them grow are right up there to. You guys since the first new article I read and TV interview, concerts and interviews on Disney and your famous cartoon you always preached Brotherhood, and love for your family and I have tried to live my live by that. So if there is way for you guys to help me get tickets and meet you guys that would be great. IfI did have to choose meeting you or your someway helping out some towns in iowa I would have to defer to meet you guys another time. I have been emailing 300 radio stations, TV stations any thing and anyone with no luck again I hope to see you guys in the cities any help to the small towns that were just demolished by the storm would help. Again if there is anyway for you to allow me to meet you guys it would be great 712-348-3100

    Hi Joey!

Well, you won’t be my “first” concert (that honor goes to Darren Hayes last year) BUT it will be my first time EVER seeing you guys perform in person (unless you count House of Blues two weeks ago :-)). I plan to see you guys here in L.A. and then travel to Las Vegas. I have no doubts that it will be a great adventure for all involved.

    I can’t wait!!!

    Hey Joe!!

This is surreal…really! You guys were my first concert…MN State Fair. I believe you were with Tiffany and Tommy Page??? If I am remembering correctly! My friend and I took an old bed sheet and painted “keep hanging tough” on it in blue house paint!! It’s hilarious all these years later to think back on that. I still have the sheet!

Everytime you guys came out with a new CD I would immediately scan each song for your voice. You have such a beautiful voice that has remained a very favorite of mine all these years. When you did the line from “Please Don’t Go Girl” on the Today Show I was blown away. Such happy memories from a very fun time in my life when all things were centered on New Kids!!

Thanks so much for this blog and I hope I get tickets before they sell out to your MN show. I have to be there!!

Welcome back guys! You’ve been missed!!

I also want to cry everytime one of you guys says how it is all for US the FANS, to bring us a great show. That is awesome, I hope that I get to see it, I don’t live near a venue but I will try my hardest to make it to one.

    Keep Rockin

It always seemed like it would only be a dream to be able to meet you guys. Now, you’re making that dream come true for me. THANK YOU! I’ve been waiting for 20 years! I’m sure the wait will be well worth it. As you said you’ve heard so many times, you guys were my first concert too! I went to 3 concerts & I loved them all. WOW!!! Is about the best word I can even come close to describing the way I feel about you guys!!! This tour means so much to me on a personal level, because when I was younger and you guys came to St. Louis my mom and grandma told me I was to young to go to a concert….so now that you guys are back and I’m almost 31 (OMG can you belive it) it just has motivated me to figure my life out and draw closer to God!!!!

So THANK YOU 5 from the bottom of my heart for doing this for your fans….. I hear you talk about your fans and that’s great but don’t forget to give credit to the one who made all of this possible to begin with, GOD!!!!!!!!

I pray for you guys everyday, that God blesses you and your families in all you do….I pray that he keeps all of us safe during theese troubled times….

    Hey Joe,
I think that as we get older our perspectives change and how we see ourselves changes too. You were amazing to hear and see back in summer 1989 and still today. I finally had an opportunity to meet you last summer while on the DWTS tour and it was everything I hoped it would be. It’s a shame I couldn’t say much..LOL but I felt the exact way 19years ago.. All the best and I look forward to seeing all of you this September in Toronto!
    Cheers!

  147. Stray Says:

I’m one of the fans that can say that YES, NKOTB was the first group I ever saw in concert..
They came to Norfolk Virgina and played the Norfolk Scope during their No More Games Tour..
To this day I still remember the energy that I felt walking into the Scope..
The only way to describe it was that it felt like electricity in the air.
It was such a natural high..

To this day I have never been to another concert that has ever been able to top the New Kids..

I am looking forward to Sept and attending both Boston concerts..
And experiencing that energy once again…

  153. Phanindra R Says:

I would love to thank you guys for coming back, when I was in gr.1 I use to hear stuff on the news about Joe & Donnie doing bad things, but I remember hearing “Please Don’t Go Girl” at my cousin’ place(he’d pump it everyday on the record player)and you could hear it blocks away. When you guys first came to Toronto I never knew much about a concert nor was I much interested in music, but the cartoon was amazing. I remember the first time I heard “Cover Girl”, it was at Fairview Mall back in ..1989 or 1990 in the open area now the new foodcourt where a beauty show was going held by Young & The Restless father’ star Doug Davidson(Paul the P.I.) In 2001, myself and 3 other guys which became best friends, we formed a pop band one day after school but our intention was actually to be 4 guys dancing to a song for the schools Cabaret show. I think to this day we are still Canada’s first ever multi-cultured pop boy band(unofficially to the media and anyone). We called ourselves 4′N Touch(foreign backgrounds but born here in Toronto-And 4 guys that each sang parts of the musical scale with a touhc of[bass, tenor, alto & falsetto].We never made it far because I was pushing us too often to get a record deal and to get the cover songs into the right hands. The one thing I wasn’t allowed to do was sing in Falsetto because I had based my vocals from listen to both you(Joe) and Jordan. I started singing more like Jordan because I was able to control my Alto and Falsetto, but to my disappointment we focused on songs by 98 Deg, & BSB. I was told that singing in Falsetto had faded out! When I listened to every pop that was then around, it was true, there had been no more lead Falsetto singers. I am still trying to get our youngest member to rejoin but I feel he isn’t interested in going the same path as before. When I read those messages from Jordans’ remix album, I understood something(as a singer aswell)that music just isn’t about money, it does something to people. When watch music videos & see young girls getting degraded in rap music I think to myself not once has pop music ever done such a thing to its’ listeners. I can only imagine that now that all of you are grown up you see the world differently and how fast people can change their thoughts about you. I know your genre isn’t exactly what it will have been from since the last time you all collaborated, but I hope that the words I read from Jordans’ remix album will once again bring emotions from your new songs into the hearts of new and old listeners. It truly is.. something else to know that all of came toegether for a reason, yet NKOTB may have just been the very beginning, so I hope somewhere in time when all is said and done everyone will know why the 5 of you were meant to be in this world and what your purpose was(not only as singers, or an inspiration)..but whatever it is I truly hope the answer is found within’ yourselves and all of your fans. Lastly, I am so happy to say that when I go to see you guys at the Air Canada Ctr. it will be my first concert ever in life! I won’t be meeting you guys because I figured I’ll the real die-hard fans take that chance, if my band ever got the same chance you guys did I would understand why people do the things they do. I wish I could talk to you all and ask you if you’d be interested in creating a new Pop boy band or continuing a new generation of guys under the “New Kids On The Block” name(probably wouldn’t pass with the fans). I wish I had someway of sitting down and talking with you guys for a day, I’m sure anyone feels the same way. If I change my mind & go with the 5star VIP’s I’ll be seeing you guys, unless otherwise I’ll leave that to those who really want to meet you guys the most for making their life something worth continuing to live for when they had no one else to turn to but your voices. Thanks Joe, and to the rest of the guys as well.(& thanks to Jordan for inspiring a believer in Falsetto why it means to have a voice in this world).

  154. Priscilla Says:

    Joey Joe…
I never had the fortune of attending one of your concerts… I did get two tickets for the concert in Mexico City in the beginning of 1992… but my family and me moved on Nov. 1991 and I cried and cried but i couldn’t go (it was a 36 hrs. drive!).
But, i did had my whole bedroom covered with posters of NKOTB, i had all the tapes and CD’s and videos… and i didn’t miss a magazine that featured something about you. My classmates were all witnesses of that. I even stored a BIG puzzle with you on it under my bed. LOL
So, I cannot say I’ve seen you perform live, but i’m as good as a fan as everybody else here.
So i’m very happy you’re back around and I really look forward to be able to see you in a concert soon.
    Hugs!
    Priscilla

I never dreamed I’d be doing what I am today or who I am today. You were a very special part of my life growing up. I love you guys so much! Thank you for the memories - old and new.

Joey, Thank you for this wonderful blog…it was a great way to start my day before going to work. Amazing how life changes from when we were young and our parents were buying our tickets!!! You guys were my first concert and I was at the Today Show screaming my head off…and yes, “sunny and 70 degrees would have been perfect too, Joe” but the rain just made me realize just how great you guys were. It was pouring and we were all soaked and tired from lack of sleep on the sidewalks of NY but yet there wasn’t a person around me that wasn’t smiling and you guys were just as great as you were 14 years ago. Can’t wait to see you this fall!!!

  161. jballer Says:

  163. tammyb Says:

I am so glad to hear you guys are coming back. You were my first concert. Me, my cousin, my mom and uncle would come see you guys whenever you were in Cincinnati, Kentucky and Indy. When we could we would get front row tickets because we loved you guys. Well, now I have a 3 year old son and I want his first concert to be you guys also. My son loves to dance and sing he keeps saying he wants to sing and play drums with you guys. I am hoping you guys come to Cincinnati so I can try and get front row so my son can experience the fun I had when I was in the front row. I know he will have a ball like I did when I went to see you guys in concert. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to CINCINNATI. Thank you guys so much for coming back. I have been listening to your albums lately since I heard you were back. Can’t wait to see you guys. love Tammy

  164. LinaGirl26 Says:

Ooooh I (heart) you Joe…I used to write lyrics to go along with those great NKOTB songs when I was younger - and I never stopped writing {anything}…I loved reading this (and appreciate how well it was written, too). Thanks so much for it.

You “kids” have evolved into awesome men…The same fun fab five that I met on the Williamsburg Bridge sooo many years ago filming I’ll Be Loving You (Forever). The same but…better. :-)

I can clearly recall the mass hysteria from the late 80s and early 90s - Giants Stadium, Nassau Colisseum, Brendan Byrne Arena (yep - before it was the IZOD Center…lol), Westbury - those were my concerts…The Hangin’ Tough tour, the Step by Step tour - all my childhood memories came rushing back when I saw you at Zootopia, when I woke up early to watch your Today show performance (on tv - sorry, I don’t do rain…lol) and when I purchased my great seats for your IZOD Center performance - but now as a woman who is simply nostalgic for the better days of her youth. My NKOTB fanaticism was very much a part of that. So, now I can’t wait to be there singing along once again at your NYC shows.

I’m sure the fans will agree with me - thanks so much for coming back. We were always loyal & always will be.

    :-)

    C.

  165. NKOTB4EVR77 Says:

  166. shirlperl Says:

Wow! You guys were my first concert! Saw you in Oakland, CA (1990) twice and in Mannheim, Germany (1991)! I heard Summertime on the radio this afternoon as I was pulling into the garage. I kept the car running so I can listen to the song. :-) -shirlperl

  167. staciluvsnkotb Says:

    HI JOE!!!

Thanks for your great message!! I loved being a New Kids fan and I am so happy to hear that it is as special to you as it is to us. I light up when I talk about the New Kids! :)

I loved meeting you guys on May 16th at Macys, I hope that was special for you guys too because Macy’s made us stand out in the rain for SOOOOOO long! First we stood outside from 7am to 10am (IN THE RAIN!) and some people stood there even longer, and then we went in and got our tickets and made our purchases, and then they made us stand in the rain for ANOTHER HOUR! But hey, it was TOTALLY worth the 4 hours in the rain to meet all of you guys for 30 seconds. :) I mean even though I stood there in front of you and Jordan and just starred and begged you guys not to go away again, I still wouldn’t have missed the opportunity.

I certainly hope that this time around you guys get the RESPECT you deserve from MTV, the news, and radio stations. I am glad that people (like the Today Show) are seeing just how big and popular you guys are. You guys are legends and it pleases me to know that you are so happy to do it.

You guys were my first concert and my first true love of a music group. To me there is no other! :) I loved every concert I ever went to - whether it was NKOTB, or your solo concert, or Jordan’s, I have an amazing story to tell from every time…whether it be making new friends with fans, or getting to see you guys up close, it is always SO MUCH FUN!!!! :) I think it is the other fans that really keep me coming back because I love making new friends and there are so many amazing New Kids fans out there!! GOOOOOO FANS! :)

Love you Joe and we love your messages!!!!
    God bless you all,

I hope you’re ready to hear those tens of thousands of people screaming your name again! You all deserve it.
I cannot wait to see you in Cleveland. This has brought a level of happiness to me that most people cannot understand. My husband thinks I’m crazy, my coworkers think I’m hysterical with glee, and my kids think it’s funny to watch Mommy singing and dancing to all of your music.
When I met you last year when you were touring with Dancing with the Stars, I thanked you for all of the wonderful memories you have given to me. You said, let’s make some more. I had no idea it would be like this.
    See you in October

  173. Kala Says:

You guys were my first concert and I remember it was the first time and only time my mom let me skip school to camp out at the stadium to wait for you guys to drive in. I met so many girls there that over the course of the day we got to be friends and at one point I noticed that a caretaker was taking out the garbage from inside the stadium and left the door open so I snuck in mainly to use the washroom but I stumbled onto the dressing room with the group name on it and since there was no one around I walked in to look around it was scarry and exhilarating at the same time for a 13 year old. I’m not sure what I expected to find in that dressing room or what I thought it would look like but when I walked in it was just a big locker room with a big open shower area and washrooms (thank goodness for that at least). Once I calmed myself down a bit I ran back outside to get a group of my new best buddies who were still waiting outside for your buses to pull in. I told them what I found and we all made our way and snuck back down. It was such an amazing and silly experience yet I’ll remember it always…unfortunately a couple hours later one of the younger sisters of a girl in our group was looking for us all and asked security to help her find her big sister because she couldn’t find her anywhere…so long story short we all got caught sitting in the big shower area behind the lockers and were escorted out…thankfully they still let us attend the concert! Phew! so that’s my big memory and I’m so glad for it. It was one of those times in my life that I’ll never forget just the excitement of it all. Thanks guys. (I promise not to sneak in this time around) Kath.

    Hey Joey!

You are so sweet, and you sound so down to earth! Besides the obvious, that’s what I love about you! It’s so hard in today’s world to find someone so genuine, and someone who doesn’t let all the hoopla go to their head. You & the guys are one of a kind, and I’m honored to be one of your fans (YOUR #1 fan if I do say so myself- LOL)! I have always loved you & your music, because I think you’ve got the most incredible voices, and dance moves :) I have all your solo cds, and now I’m thrilled about the reunion w/the guys!

You were my first concert, years ago, when you came to Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. And this time around, even though I’m a 32yr old wife & mother, I’m super psyched to see you guys in Chicago and Milwaukee. I’ve been to several concerts over the years, and I don’t have a doubt in my mind, that I’m in for the best shows of my life!!! I’m so excited to see what ya’all have cooked up for us……we’ve been waiting a long time for this & know you won’t disappoint!

Stay true to us, yourself, and don’t change because we love you! Keep up the good work guys! See ya soon!

    Love,

    Hi Joe,

Thanks so much for the heartfelt words. It is so great this time around that you are able to connect with your fans personally and so quickly. Back in the 80’s and 90’s we had snail mail and not all of us were lucky enough to get personal replies.

I can’t wait to see you for the first time in CT. I am so excited. New Kids, especially you Joe, helped me through some rough teenage years and your reunion this year has given me hope to get through some difficult times that I am going through right now.

Take care and take care of that beautiful baby of yours. They grow up way to fast. My middle one will be graduating from pre-school in a couple of days and it seems just like yesterday I went into the hospital to have him.

    God bless you all!

    Hey Joe,

It’s Celeste. I’m happy that you never got to develop that “hollier than thou” attitude that so many other pop groups have developed. It’s nice to hear that one of my heroes is still as level headed as he ever was.
Thanx for the blog and I hope to see you soon.

  183. mashia6 Says:

    Hey Joey!

I agree with you…this is amazing because I have to admit I had no clue I would respond this way to the reunion. I just thought you guys would only be part of fond memories. And now we get to make more! NKOTB was the first concert my sister and I went to that was for us and not our parents. My little sis cried and we were way in the back on the grass. All I kept thinking was…they are only a few hundred feet away…OH My Gosh! lol. I’m sure I speak for all the fans when I say how much we appreciate the hard work you guys are putting in and that you aren’t simply having a nostalgia tour to make money. I think this time around it will be more amazing for you Kids and us because we are old enough to appreciate how special this is. Thank you all for keeping in touch. It’s going to be the longest 4 months of my life waiting for the new music! Love you all, Myka

  186. MommaCareBear Says:

    Hey there!!
I was so freaked out to hear that NKOTB was returning.
I also was happy to hear that you sexy dudes were coming to Canada.
But, I was disappointed…(big time) :-( to find out that your Toronto concert had sold out!
Now, I am sooooo flippin’ happy, excited, jumping up down, to hear that you added dates in Canada.
Edmonton, being the one place I could make it too, (because I am from bunk ole Yorkton, Saskatchewan) well, it stated November 17, but now states November 18?? I don’t understand what is up with that??
Just please put the date and do not….I repeat…DO NOT!! cancel
I have so wanted to see you guys in concert, and was never given the chance…but now that I have the chance I really would love to see you guys in concert.
I want to have that chance to jump up and down, go absolutley crazy screaming out all the names of my favorite guys!! and to sing along to my favorite songs (all of them!!)
so, yes I admit I am still a hard core New Kids On The Block fan, I even put up a good argument with the dude at work for trying to poke fun at my favorite group !
But hey, it was always a dream of mine to see you guys perform, and to actually meet you’s so, given the chance, with you coming to Edmonton would really make my dreams come true!
    Forever a fan, Carol-lee

I can say, honest to God, that I have chills after read your post, Joey!! I can hardly put a response into words…it was that moving! :) I’ve just waited so long for this reunion and haven’t stopped talking about it. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the album. I understand that you did some of the writing on it. I have no doubt this album is gonna be beyond our expectations. More importantly, I’m eagerly awaiting 9/27 when my friend and I get to see you guys in AC!! Cannot wait!!!!

The Today Show was just amazing. I’ve watched it at least half a dozen times! I wanted so very much to be there but it’s so hard with a toddler at home and a husband who’s gotta work hard so that our daughter can be home with mommy, know what I mean? :) Anyway…thanks again for the post and I look forward to reading more soon!!!

    Love you guys!!!! Michele

    Joey Joe,
Very well said! You guys were my first concert and you were actually my baby sister’s first concert…I took her to the Kiss Concert just to see you guys and now she is hooked on NKOTB. Thank you for the greatest experience when I was 8 and another now at 26. Congrats on the come back and WELCOME BACK! See you guys in September!

  189. Lisa J Says:

I would think, “wow! I am amazing…” or “I did hit that step in an extraordinary fashion…”

That’s my new favorite sentence in the history of sentences.

  190. jenns29 Says:

    Hi Joe!
It’s so amazing to hear about this whole experience from your perspective! At the Today Show, we were all sitting around wondering… Are they nervous? Are they excited? The look on your faces when you saw the crowd (especially in the back) was priceless. And you’re on the money when you say the relationship between you 5 and us fans is extremely powerful. It’s something “outsiders” may never really understand.

Sadly, Nsync was my first concert. But, I kid you not, the first thing my sister and I said to each other there was… imagine if this was the New Kids! The Today Show was my first NK experience, Zootopia the 2nd, and I can’t wait for LA, SJ, LV & SD! Age and distance are no longer issues, so you bet your ass I’ll be front and center! You may not have been my first concert, but you were my first loves and the first cut is the deepest! My 7 yr old heart never forgot!

    Much love,
    Jenn,
    San Francisco

    P.S. Light a fire under Jordan’s ass will ya? We’re all waiting…

  191. Shelayly Says:

Wow I am so excited tha you guys are coming to a city close to me..well actually close to my best friend (7 hours away from me)She is who I went to your concert with when I was 11. Now all grown up married with kids..I wonder when we go to your concert if we’ll be crying…claiming our undevoted love to you? I can’t wait and I am glad you are going on tour for whateve reason..but as a FAN I am thankful! I remember when we got our tickets the first time there was no such thing as buying tickets online….my dad waited in line for hours and when he came out of the box office holding 2 tickets high in the air my best friend and I dropeed to the ground hugging and crying. You are an eternal part of my youth..and yes I am still young…heck when my house burnt down when I was 12 the only thing I owned was a NKOTB nightgown as it was what I was wearing when we escaped. Great memories….love you all, look forward to seeing you here in Canada!

    Ordinary alone, extraordinary together!

Joey! Thanks for the blog! We really do appreciate you guys taking the time to write us when you can :)
We’re feeling the love too, by the way…I think it’s the coolest thing ever, all that’s going on right now, and I just wanted to say: what a gift you guys have given us by coming back and better than ever! Thank you, a million times :)
Keep on keepin’ on, and we’ll see you in California!!!!!

I think it’s great that not only do we fans get to share this experience with our kids now, but all of you get to share it with your kids, wives, and girlfriends too. They say “life is a great, big circle”, and I would definitely say you guys have come full circle.

  194. trisarahtops Says:

You WERE my first concert!!! I remember sitting in line at 3 in the morning to get tickets - in November - in freezing Winnipeg! Waiting for you guys to come back!!!

  195. stacemagoorn Says:

Hey there! Of course NKOTB was my first concert, I will never forget it! My mom brought a van load of us girls to see you guys in Lake Placid,NY. In fact there were so many of us there were at least 2 people sitting on bean bag chairs. We had a GREAT time. I can’t wait for the next concert, unfortunately for those of us who live in rural areas, hours away from any of the concert sites it poses some interesting challenges, but us die hard fans are finding ways. So when are you going to head to Ottawa? Anyone remember the NKOTB action figures and stage sets? I actually still have them and all the posters I ever had covering all my walls and ceiling in my room packed away in a box still!! Well, we are glad you guys are back and I am trying to be patiently waiting…New CD soon????Please????

Love you guys ~ Stacie :)

  196. BoricuaChic75 Says:

    Hi Joe,

The Today show was fantastic!!! I ditched a meeting to be there. Not as audacious as the Toronto ladies who camped out for 3 days but I live in NYC. As for that drizzle that fell that was for good luck. Rain in NYC is much more consuming.

Love you guys, thanks for coming back.

  197. JeanieSmith Says:

Hi Joey! Yes, The New Kids WAS the first concert I ever went to,(well, that I can think of) and I am SO pumped to see you guys in Chicago!I am on a countdown every day (130), and it is AMAZING to think that it could even POSSIBLY mean as much to you as it does to all of us! I mean, did you guys honestly think your comeback wouldn’t be HUGE?? You have to know you have the most die hard fans in the world. Fans that couldn’t get married without paying at least SOME tribute to the first loves-of-my-life(ya, that would be me… walked down the isle to “I’ll be loving you forever”). And any one that knows me was on the phone calling me at the first HINT of a reunion rumor. You were my first love, Joey. I may not REALLY know anything about you,but you
hold a special place none the less… I am now married to the blue-est eyes I could find, and all because old crushes die hard! But now your back… and my husband sighs because he knows WHO I’ll be loving forever!! Thanks so much Joey!

  198. Aundreya Says:

NKOTB was my first concert too! I remember it quite well! I was 15, and I didn’t even know who you guys were yet. But it was a wonderful concert and I’ve been to every one here since. (of course I’ll be at the concert Nov. 22nd in Tacoma too!)

I also saw you in Las Vegas in 2000. I gave one of your bandmates a gift for you, though I’m not sure if you got it. It was an Irish poem in a frame with real four leaf clovers surrounding it. I spent several days searching for them myself lol. Of course once I got to Las Vegas, one of the girls I met up with informed me that four leaf clovers are supposed to be bad luck for Irish, but I didn’t know =)

    Hi Joey,

I am gonna start by saying you were my very first crush. I fell madly in love with you when I was 10 years old, you’ve always had a special pace in my heart. All of you have and will always be associated with fond memories of growing up. I have never been to a concert not one maybe because I grew up in far away Sri Lanka (probably the furthest from you guys that nayone could have been)the concert on Octorber 8th is going to be my very first, and I am so happy it will New Kids concert. When you guys broke-up I was so sad that I never got to see you and I never thought I would get chance to see you. Thank you so much for comming back I cant wait to say hi to you at the VIP meet and greet (even if i is for 5 mins) LA, as I now live in Anaheim.
Remember your fans love you and we come from all over the world, even Sri Lanka.

    XOXOXO
    Hashi

P.S. Is Jon single and is he really cute in real life?

Joey you’re blog is the highlight of my day. Thank you for being so positive and uplifting. Being excited about the reunion makes the fans excited too. I just wish we’d get blogs from Jordan too. Does he not like us? It’s weird to not hear from him. He’s not adding me on his Myspace either. Sorry to say, but it makes some of us fans feel crappy. Hope he’s ok. Nevertheless, I will always support and be a devoted fan of the New Kids. Muahh!

  201. ccsilva2 Says:

You were my first concert! And it was the best show EVER! It started my “blockhead” revolution! I can only say “Thank You” for you guys deciding to come back out on the road. I knew it would be great! And I knew that we would all still be here…. We have been waiting so long for this day. I can’t wait!

HEY jm glad to hear from you again, and its great that you are having a great time. It really seems like you guys are really taking a huge interserst in the fans. Its nice that you dont just take it all for granted, thats what ive really noticed this time around! (not that you took it for granted last time, but some other bands do). I would give an arm and leg to be part of it all in the states right now and the thought of holding tickets in my hand for one of the shows is just dream for the moment. Like the other fans like me who use nkotb.com constantly have all become like a family and having the internet this time around just brings everything so much closer. Iam so pround to have been a part of it all the first time round and came to see nkotb many times in the uk. I always dreamed the day would come and you would all get back together, now that dream is a reality it would just be perfect if you visited Scotland again! Maybe i will get to meet you all again…this time at a meet and greet instead of chasing you all round the country ha! ha!, alothouh if i have to i will. I think you guys have a fantastic brotherhood and thats what makes it all the more special, it looks like like youve never been apart. And for me..well… its like finding my five long lost brothers! the most amazing and special feeling that i share with theresat of my family of fans.
    okay enough mush!!!

    Hi Joe:
First of all, I’m glad to see you all back together, I just hope this time I have the chance to see you all in a show.
I’m really impressed, I knew you felt like that in that period :D could see it in the way you acted … but never thought you’d say it some day :D.
Being a new kid might not be easy…I personally prefer doing what I want to do without anyone taking care of it :D
About what you say, this is all about feelings and dreams…people may not understand it.
NKOTB appeared in my life when I was 13.I’m from Spain, so I couldn’t understand the lyrics.I used to hate English, but one day I thought I had to learn just because…If I met the Nk,I couldn’t talk to them! :D
Its weird for us as it is for you, I suppose, this is so big, and will be always a part of all of us,so all I can say is thank you.
For giving me dreams when I was younger and making me happy, because while I was dreaming about you …my friends were on trouble. Thanks, for coming back and bring back all that feelings and memories to my life.I hope to see you all soon… ;) Good luck!

    Love from Spain,
    Anita

P.s:’Hopefully, you guys will listen and agree with every amazing idea I have’
…LOL…are you sure you’re not 16 anymore???(rolling eyes)( I had to say it):D. Don’t be so sure, now some people has their own amazing ideas… :D

    Hey Joe!

I can’t even begin to explain the feelings I have had as a fan since you guys offcially announced your reunion. All I can say is you 5 guys touched my life and changed it as a young girl back in the day. Now as an adult, you’ve all done it again. It was like finding a long lost friend when I stood in the rain in NYC to see you guys perform again. I can’t wait to see you all on tour. I’m from Boston and I will be at both shows. See you in September! Until then, take care!

    Forever yours,

    Rachel C. ;)

Your blog touched a spot with me. Going to see you guys on my 13th birthday was my first concert and a memory that I will always have. What has been more special to me is being able to share those memories with my daughter who now loves you guys and your music. Her first concert will also be the New Kids and how many people can say that their fist concert and their kids first concert was to see the same group. That is more special than your will ever realize.
Thank you for comming back but mostly thank you bringing back the memories. My daughter and I are looking forward to the new album and can’t wait to see you in D.C.

Much luck with prepping for the tour, I know it’ll all be awesome.

    Hey Joey Mac!!!

That was so touching! I have been a “New Kids” fan since I can remember. I seen you guys in concert for the first time at a little county fair in Springfield, Ohio. WOW, you guys were toooooo big for that place, it was absolutely CRAZY, i was 12 years old. I have been to 7 concerts of NKOTB, and I cannot wait to go to my 8th. Now I am 31 years old, and my memory is long, I can remember ever word to every song, all 5 of your full names, dates of birth, family members names, ect. I was so crazy in love with you guys it was nuts, but none of those memories faded, they are still here, and when I seen you on the today show, those memories are just as brilliant as they were when i was 12 years old and all the way to being 16 or 17 years old. I read that you have a son now, well Congrads on that. I have 2 sons, they are 10 and 5, I am a single mom, and my sons are my life, they are the air that I breathe. So I am glad that you have a son to share your life with, being a parent is the most wonderful job anyone can ask for! My sons have known about you guys, I have showed them pics and videos of you all, they think that their mommy is silly, but they are so young they dont understand.

Well I am glad that you are back and I would wish you luck, but I know that “The New Kids” will be great and just as they were many years ago, when you have what you guys have, that is something that just is lost, you guys have and will always have “The Right Stuff” :)

Take Care and God Bless :)

I have been a fan since day 1. I had hair down pass my waist in 1989 and got it cut just like yours. It has of course grown out since then. I now have a ten year old daughter, and she watched the Today show performance with me and you know they say like mother like daughter she is head over heels for you, I have 4 HUGE boxes of my New kids stuff and she wants to go through it to get a picture of you to hang on her wall. That brought back some great memories!!! Thanks for coming back to us fans.

This time I’m coming to NYC (well, East Ruterford NJ, anyway)to see you on my birthday! And I’ll be down on the floor. What a gift it will be to visit NYC for the first time, to meet some friends in person that I’ve known for a year now, to meet up with an old high school friend, AND…to see you on stage again. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am!! The only thing that would make it better would be to meet you. A girl can dream, can’t she?!

Hi Joe~ Thank you for such a thoughtful note for all of us!! =) I am glad that you always think about your fans who have supported you unconditionally.
NKOTB was my first show ever in Seoul, Korea in Feb 17th 1992. You may not remember me, but I told you after your ‘talk to me’ show last year in NYC that you made such a indelible influence in my life and now I live in the States =p If it were not for you, I would have still stayed in Korea. I had always dreamed of meeting you in the future and studied English really hard. I graduated university with an English major(as I was good at Eng in high school thanks to you)in Korea and right after that, I moved to NYC with a job then I achieved a Master’s degree in such a prestigious school in the US. =) I wouldn’t be able to do it without you inspiring a little girl in S. Korea back in the late 1980. When I talked to you in person at the fan signing session, my heart was beating crazily and I was just overwhelmed about the situation..cause it was the moment when my dream really came true!!! All I want to say is “Thank you”! I didn’t know “Thank you” was such a powerful word as it is being used superficially most times but I just want to say “Thank you” and I will support you whatever you do. All the best!!!!!!!

    Cheers,
    Rachel-Hyeyeon

I no longer live in Scotland but have moved to beautiful New Zealand and the chances of you guys coming here are very remote but I wish you all every success in the world and I will just have to get my daily dose of Joe from the internet.

But I have to admit, the more I see of you guys these days, I still love the ham that you are. You are an amazing talent and have personality to boot. Jon comes in a very close second today. :-)

Enjoy the journey! You deserve it!

    Hi Joe,

I was never able to see you guys in concert when I was younger. In fact, I have never been to a concert in my life. You guys were the only group I would want to ever watch in concert so when I heard that you guys were getting back together again, I had to buy my very first concert ticket. I would have never dreamed in a million years that I would have this opportunity again!!! I can’t wait to see you and the rest of the guys!!! You guys still have the right stuff!!!

Thanks for taking the time to right such an awesome blog!!!

  252. lil_rinoa Says:

I see everyone here is saying that you guys were their first concert back in the day, well, being 27 years old, I am sad to say, I have yet to be at a concert. So when you guys hit in Vancouver in November, it is 3 days shy of my birthday and I can’t wait to be there! I am counting down till those tickets come on sale on Monday and I am itching to get my hands on some as I am sure many are.

You all were so fabulous and I am very happy to see you all return. I heard the advert on the radio in my car, and I yelped so loud in happiness, (I was stopped at a light) all the other drivers gave me funny looks, but I didn’t care, the first boys to ever be in my room (via posters and music) were coming back and I couldn’t be any happier.

I wish you all the best of luck on your reunion tour, and I can’t wait until November! Johnathan, Jordan, Donnie, Danny, and especially Joey, you all were very much missed all these years. Thank you, all of you, for coming back to where you belong.

  253. lil_island_singapore Says:

greetings from the sunny island of Singapore and the island filled with ” summer time” all year round! it amazes me to be part of this blog and the fabulous exchange we can have with the New kids.

First boy band i ever went crazy for and i’m in my 30s now and the renunion has definitely brought back much nostalgic moments during my childhood days!!

This moment brought me back to my train of thoughts of my grandpa buying my couisn and i the first new kids album.. back then are casette tapes! bugging my aunt to get us tix to the concert on some american xpress promo!
most recently , was sharing my aunt ( yes the same one) about the renunion and she started screaming and rattling on about how crazy i was back before . Joey was def. my all time favt!

getting the guys back together, i reckon it takes great team effort / leadership from each and everyone in the band to do this better! so good job boys! Most recently i’m on u tube to every possible site CLICKING away during work / lunch hrs! this is definitely bigger than texas!

I doubt the concert will get to SIN but know that it will be a bigger success for everyone of you! Most importantly, take good care of urselves during this tour! This renunion def. rules the take that renunion anytime! My well wishes to the 5 gentlemen!

    god blessed! Jc

New Kids on the Block was my first concert…It was actually at Knott’s Berry Farm back in ‘88 I think. Crazy! My mom took me and two of my friends to our first real NKOTB concert at Universal in Los Angeles when I was 14 and I we had backstage passes where I met all of the New Kids except for you, Joey (and you were my favorite!!!!) I was so sad! Anyway, I was so happy to hear that New Kids were reuniting–as many of your other #1 fans were. But I was SO sad to hear that your concerts in Los Angeles and San Jose are in October. I am due to give birth to my first child in October and find it IMPOSSIBLE to make it to the concert. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sad!! Can’t you reschedule for November or December??!!

  262. stephanieluvsjoey Says:

OMG!!!! I am so excited that you guys got back together, when I was told I thought I was just being teased by my family because they know how much I LOVE YOU (and can I just say that I so voted for you Joey when you were on Dancing with the Stars and thought that you did a great job!!!!) so I googled it and to my surprise and great joy found out that it was true. First thing I did, made sure that my Hanging Tough Tour Jacket was still there, and It was.
Now I have been looking out for tour dates and havent seen any dates for Los Angeles, are there going to be any dates here in LA? I am getting Married in April ‘09 and will work around you guys if need be. But please tell me you guys are coming to LA I would just love to see you guys again.

  263. Mari-BR Says:

Well, you were not my first concert. I was so young, and can u imagine a young girl travelling all over Brazil to see you in 92? I can, but I think my parents wouldn’t like this idea. =)

Anyway, I really hope from the deep of my heart that you are my next big and ‘long-waited’ concert. =*
It’s good to see u guys back, Joe! Hope to see u all in Brazil soon!

Thank you, Joe for the wonderful blog! I remember seeing you guys from the 3rd row at Kings Dominion in Virginia; along with your limo passing by and some of you guys waving to my cousin and I after the show (and yeah, we were way ahead of the crowd ;-)).

I enjoyed the video you posted from the House of Blues ~ I was there and made the video (LOL)! And like the other fans, I’m very much looking forward to the new CD and the tour ~ I’ll see you guys in Vegas (and hopefully L.A.).

Take care ~ Love & Luck,

Wow! Words could not even discribe my thoughts when I heard you guys were going back on tour. How exciting for you and your fans. You guys deserve a second time around. I do need to share my sob story of the 90’s though. Ok, it was when I was living in Hawaii and you guys were scheduled to perform one night. My friends and I waited in line for hours in order to get good seats. We’ll we did; 3rd row to be exact.
Shortly after my dreams were chattered when my family took us all out to dinner one night to break the news that we were moving to Texas. My question to them was, ok when? And when they told me that it would be within the next couple of months I just about passed out. That would of made it a month before your concert. I was devestated. I worked so hard that past summer to save enough money to buy tickets that I ended up having to give them up.
I am 32 years old now and still wonder what my experience would of been like seating in the 3rd row of your concert that one night in Hawaii.
Well, guess what? I am ready to finally experience what that night would of felt like. My calender has been marked and I will be there in the first 10 rows of your San Antonio, Texas concert on Oct. 17th.
Best of luck to you guys and thanks for bringing our youth back.

    Love Always,
    Marisa J.

    Ok so enough flattery.
I was just viewing ya’lls touring schedule and I noticed something missing.
INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA!! We don’t rank a visit?! Yes I’m very upset. I’d go even if I was the only person there.
Closest you will be to me is Denver. I think I’ll cry now.

Good luck on ya’ll coming back. Hope you are as successful now as you were back when I was 16.

Hey Joe Mac! I always wanted to get to a concert when I was younger…but Montana was never on the tour list. But I watched on TV whenever there was a concert being broadcast (NOT PPV). I am planning to get to meet y’all in Tacoma though…still trying to work the budget and see where I can fit it in, but I just have to meet you guys after all these years. I can’t wait for the new CD and am LUVIN’ Summertime! BTW, I have to tell you that I am also an Ol’ Blue Eyes fan…and Dino Martin, Sammy Davis…yep…love the standards, am working on getting your last album…since it is right up my alley. :)

  272. lcbroadway Says:

I find it amazing how artist like you and many more are coming back. It’s great because instead of showing my kids pictures and playing tapes and cds I can actually go to the same concert and experience it with them. I’m glad you guys decided to make a come back. My girls love your music just as much as I did when I was their age. Maybe one day you will have a concert in our city at the American Bank Center of Corpus Christi. I’m sure there are many more here who feel the same way.

  273. chellsena Says:

I am so happy to see ya’ll back together.. I tried going to your concerts from the time I was 12 until I was 18 and something always happened to keep me from going.. Well this time I WILL NOT miss it.. I am 32 and PROUD to be a NKOTB fan.. Ya’ll were a part of my childhood that will now carry on throughout my adult life. Just thinking about ya’ll and hearing the old songs again makes me feel like a kid again.. Thank you for that.. I wish ya’ll much success, again, and we will see you in Dallas.. Michelle

“And I want them to be so satisfied by what they get that they’ll realize they weren’t crazy all those years ago — that they put their heart into the right place back then and that it was worth the wait to come back again.”

Gosh I read that quote from Donnie on your my space page and it said it all for me. I’m not crazy (even if my family still thinks so) and do know I put my heart in the right place. It was worth waiting for Joey to see posts like yours and quotes like Donnies and comments from all you that you want this to be worth it for us. We want it to be worth it for you to. You gave us so much with your music alone, we can’t put that into words.

When I was a teenager, you were my favorite and you still are. You voice and your music put a smile on my face.

All I can say is……Thank You!! I had a crappy childhood and all I had was your music and your pics (from mags I stole from the local grocery). Everyone laughed at me and called me crazy. I knew in my heart that the boys who got me through, wouldnt let me down. Now they arent laughing….they see what got me through. Anytime I would feel like I would lose it….I’d listen to you and all your solo stuff and find peace. It’s corny to say, but I am 100% certain that I would not be here if not for you guys. I am bawling now, so, the Today show was AMAZING!! Again, thank you, thank you so much, words can not explain…….THANK YOU!!!! Cant wait for Philly!!

P.S. Joe, loved your show at the Chameleon 3/30/08. Come Dance with Me was great….the crazy girl with the Crew Jacket you signed.

    Hi Joe,

You have put a smile on my face since day one with your sense of humour, charm, good looks, and unbelievable talent! Reading your heartfelt words reconfirms why you’re so amazing.. For you and the other guys have remained so humble and so true to who you are this whole time, and it’s so heartwarming that this ride is as special for you as it is for us. I am unable to say you guys were my first concert, although anyone who knows me knows how much of a dream it’s always been to see you perform live. I have been a huge fan since the VERY beginning, and I have been on cloud nine since hearing you were coming back together again! I can’t thank you enough. I got tickets today to see you in Toronto on Sept 19th. My dream come true after all these years. I love you guys! THANK YOU! xoxo

  286. Jennybenny717 Says:

I’ve always loved the New Kids- the first album is by far my favorite!! In High School (well past 94) I still jammed out to New Kids and even made my own music videos. When ring tones came out that actually have words- Step by Step was the first one I downloaded- it’s been on every phone I’ve owned since. My best friends two year old daughter actually knows the song and rocks out with us. I’ve been talking about a come back for years- no one believed me. I’M SOOOOOOO GLAD IT’S HAPPENING! I’ll be at the Chicago show as long as we can get tickets- I’m so happy for you all! When I am having a bad day at work and Summertime comes on the radio I turn up the volume and dance around. My co-workers tend to laugh at me- but I think I’m hooking them all to your music!

better late than never, right? ;-)

but the problem is that now I don´t know what to say… everything has already been said, I guess.. :-)

there´s one thing I have to say, even if many people have said it before me…

YOU GUYS WERE MY FIRST CONCERT!!!!
April 26th 1991, Stockholm SWEDEN baby!!!!
the day before my 14th birthday!! yaaaay! :-)

I got to see you one more time, in November that same year. :-)

I´ve tried sooooo many times to try to explain to people who wasn´t there, the FEELING… but it´s impossible to put into words, it really is..

and the thing that amazes me is that I KNOW, after 17 years, it would feel EXACTLY the same way today if I got to see you guys live again!!!

with that said, THANK YOU and PLEASE come to SWEDEN this time around too!!!!

    /Tina

Hey Joe! I have no idea if you guys even read these responses, but I just want to say, I’m so totally psyched to see you guys in Toronto in Sept! It will be my 6th and 7th time seeing NKOTB in concert and I”m just excited now as I was then. Huh, and my mom thought it was a phase, LOL, a 20 year phase! I think she’s also having flashbacks from when I was 15…LOL. You may not have been my first concert, but you’re certainly the most memerable. I’m hoping that the next two shows totally “blow my mind”…LOL. See you in fall!

Hey Joey can’t talk long, in over time with the penguins! Here we go penguins, here we go! anyway, I was just thinking back to the joyous days, I knew as my childhood, witch during many concerts included, crying just at the thought of meeting you guys at the Sheraton in pittsburgh! How funny is that! Now I am 32 years old! Wow! lol and with a child! You should hear him sing! Makes me think of you when you were a wee baby still! lol Anyway, good luck to you and the rest of the band, I wish you all well!
    Your old friend,
    Shannon

  298. Angelita Says:

    Hi Joey,
I love your voice. It’s just got such a cool sound. Thank you for summertime! I love it! Perfect Summer song! Makes me want to lay out at the beach! I get to hear it every time my cell phone rings! I can’t wait to hear the rest of the CD!
    Love you always!

  299. Cery Says:

Hey Joe, youre my absolutely favorite Guy. Am i allowed to say this as a married mother of 2 kids? ;)

But i must grumble at you and the other guy! The poor Jon must watch 2girls1cup! And you captured him that he cant go out of this unbelievable stuff!

But we all laughed tears as we saw the video on youtube ;)

Wish you the Best and i hope youll coming to europe soon!

    Verena from Switzerland.

  300. Taralynn Says:

You know, this seems so unreal to me still. I am 34, married for 11 years and have 2 boys ages 8 and 11 but still I sit here, replaying the today show performance, getting those same feelings as I did when I was 15-16.

It amazes me that the enjoyment I shared 15 years ago, my kids now share. My son Derek who is 11 loves the song summertime, he knows all the words before I did. He told me all his friends live the sone too. Donnie had said on the today show that they wanted for come back when the time was right. Boy, is he right on, this is the right time. I think this is going to be bigger then before (if that is even possible)

I wanted to DL the summertime rinbgtone and for what ever reason it didn’t work but that’s a different story, anyway when I was trying to get it to work I was at my sons baseball game and I told someone what I was trying to do and they said “are you serious? You are really goin g to do that?” YEP! You bet you buttocks and my girl friend did too and she is in her 30’s. We are going to the concert in CT. I had my friend and my sister on 3 way trying to get tickets when they went on sale at 10 am, get tickets but the seats aren’t that great. I couldn’t believe they went that fast. So my friend and I are going to have a ‘girls night out’, which we have never had since we have known each other for 15 years. The point to my story is this…. Thank you guys for letting us go back to the innocent and problem free days, remembering all the stupid things I did to try to meet you guys and all the great and wonderful memories I have of just being a normal, typical teen with somehting to look forward to. I have such a busy life with my kids, helping at their school, which one has baseball at what time (yep not what days, which time.. we are there6 days a week and I LOVE it) and then living with MS and trying to find time to have me time to relax (as my doctor puts it) BUT New kids now is my way to relax, and I swear it helps. I can be in the middle of cleaning with the radio blasting, I will stop what I am doing and just start dancing. It is such a release if I am having a stressfull day..

I love you guys, it is awesome to see you guys back together and again so unreal. Like Joey said, it’s like the past 15 years didn’t happen. It is natural for you guys to be together and doing your thing. Good luck, take care and I can’t wait until Sept 30th..

    <3 Tara

  301. AndyandJordanMoM Says:

    Joe,
Just want to thanks for covering my walls all those years ago. I still get that uncontrolable smile everytime I see you or hear you sing. My son keeps reminding me that I have a husband already, he’s right, but I just can’t help that feeling that comes across me that makes me feel like a teenager again. Looking forward to seeing you in October w/ my son. (Someone has to keep control)

  302. joeyjoe Says:

You guys were my first concert, and I loved it! That was back in 1989 or ‘90 in Hershey, PA. I had the biggest crush on you back in high school, mostly because you were the youngest and Irish like me…also loved your voice and thought you were cute. Jordan performed at Mayfair in 1999. I remember saying to my friend that I would love it if you came to Musikfest. A few months later, I heard that you were coming to the festival and immediately got on the phone with that same friend…got tickets that day. My cousin was security for your concert. I managed to ask him to get me your autograph which I do still have. Now my cousin wants to see you guys when you come to Philly in November, and she’s relying on me to win tickets since I seem to have luck with doing that. Loved you on Dancing with the Stars and love your new song. Every time I hear it I actually smile…like I have a school girl crush…I love when music does that!!

We are so grateful that you guys have gotten back together and that you are going out on tour again. This will be my first NK concert. Sadly, it is not my first. My first concert was one that my parents dragged me to back when I was about 7 or 8, before the New Kids. I am so excited because I know that this will be the BEST concert that I have ever gone to.

You are so sweet and kind. Take care of your family and God Bless!

  317. NeverthoughtIdseeithappen Says:

Yup, along with everyone else, New Kids was my first concert — in Wisconsin, I think in 1990 or 1991. I was 10 or 11. And even though I was sitting in the lawn seats and needed binoculars to see the stage, I was still convinced Donnie was going to find me in the crowd and pull me on stage to sing Cover Girl to me. haha. so sad, so sad. :)

  318. soupysara Says:

You guys were my first as well…well, actually my only. I was able to go to two concerts in Chicago, and that was really it for live music for me. Guess I’ve just never been interested or excited enough by anyone else to bother?

I’ve been completely steamrolled by this reunion, tried to retain some kind of bogus adult perspective or some such nonsense. Forget it! I looked at some of the old photos, dug out some old cds, and got a whisper of that punch in the gut I used to get. The echo of how absolutely convinced I was that I was “in LOVE”, and I guess I was to still get that little “ootz” 15 years later huh? I think a lot of us (read milions) were absolutely in the throes of first puppy love with the idea of you guys we had in our heads, the songs we thought were written just to us, sung just for us. It was intense and viceral to my 13 year old self, lying there with my eyes closed feeling every word you sang to the depths of my barely teenage heart. Was it fictional, sure, but was it real? Absolutely. Look to all these screaming soccer moms for proof!

Thanks for coming back guys, we missed you. I think we all need to visit our inner 13 year old from time to time. Looking forward to seeing you guys October 24, in Chicago again, 3rd concert of my life!

  319. mandyk74 Says:

I am so excited for the reunion tour. God…the memories of my teen years growing up in Boston. Yes, Joey….I embarrassingly admit I was one of those annoying girls staking out your home in JP!! I attended St. Mary’s from 1980-1989…kindergarten to the 8th grade…I remember how exciting it was when you and the rest of the guys “made it big” and a local entertainment show came to our school to interview you!

I am now a married, 33 yr old mom to two little angels….Katie Grace who is 19 months and Maggie Anne who is just 3 weeks. Needless to say I am very busy….the concert coming up in September will be a much needed diversion to my busy life as a stay-at-home-mom……I can’t wait!

Thank you so much for all the memories and I am really looking forward to all of you coming “home” to perform!! You make us true Bostonians proud!

  320. Heather-Toronto Says:

Well…you guys have just added a THIRD show in Toronto and we couldn’t be happier. My sister (who will be flying in from Vancouver for the show)and a very good die hard friend of ours are going to the TO show and we are so excited we had an NKOTB party not too long ago. We had every single song and had the best night ever..food, drinks, music, dancing and even though we are in our thirties….”age is just a number, don’t you stop having fun!”

So…the BOSTON RED SOX are in Toronto when the guys are here…any chance you are singing the anthems??…We are going to the Blue Jay/Red Sox game and then to the concert! Can you imagine a more perfect day!!!!!

  321. ChristieBlinzler Says:

You know it makes me smile everytime I hear your new song, or some young girls I pass by in the supermarket talk about New Kids on The Block. Let me tell you, it does my heart (and eyes!Lord, time has done all of you very good!! SO HANDSOME!!) good to see you guys back together. I know it has been said, but it is true, ITS ABOUT TIME!!! I think I can speak for every female that is my age, which is your age also, that we appreciate what you represented back in your younger days, as well as not forgetting who you are, and presenting that positive attitude today. We needed something to keep us on the right track of being a teenager that was not doing drugs, having sex, or being something that we would look back to see, and cry. You all don’t realize what you did to our generation. You kept us confident to be “just a teenager”. You were honest, wholesome, honesty, integrity, and everything we needed at that time, positive influence.I am now a mother of my own little girl, and I can take a deep breath now and thank you all for reuniting at the perfect time!! I see what my mother saw when I was listening to the New Kids on the Block instead of the “gangsta rap” that was corrupting the airways. My daugther enjoys sitting here with me, listening to your music, asking questions about the five of you, which I can say I took pride in, with knowing everything we could from your favorite colors, to what size shoe you wore. I even found all of my cassette tapes, (YEAH! REMEMBER THOSE?)and really just sit there and cry seeing my daughter so interested in you guys, and smiling to hear all the stories that I could tell about that time, of me being a teenager, in love with a boy band that are now men that did not forget who they were, or ever try to change to what everyone thought they should be. I can close my eyes and listen to your new music and still hear that it is still the positive, clean, idolizing music that I adored when I was growing up, and my daughter will enjoy! Thank You! You five handsome men are what women our age want to thank for making being a female teenager a little bit easier. We love you, please don’t ever change, and you all need to see about coming to Albuquerque, NM as one of your stops on this tour. PLEASE DON’T SKIP US!!!! I did go to your concerts, and I would LOVE to share that awesome experience with my daughter!! Much love Guys!!! Thank you again, Forever, Christie

  324. elizabethjean Says:

    Hey There Joe :)

You guys were my first concert!!! Notre Dame J.A.C.C Indiana 1990! I was the first person in line to get tickets… (I got my Mom to take me there at 4am) Crazy! After waiting there for several hours we realized we were at the wrong door! I thought for sure we weren’t going to get tickets! Well, we did get tickets but they were way up in the bleachers behind the stage. Anyway, when the concert date finally came around and we actually got there (we meaning my Mom and I) found our seats; someone came up to us and explained that he worked for you guys and asked if we would like to sit closer to the stage!! I was estatic! We ended up being on the 13th row main floor. I had painted a banner earlier that week saying “Elizabeth loves Joe” in the the New Kids on the Block font ;) (Hey I’m a graphic designer) It looked as though you actually saw it too! I don’t know how you could miss it… it was huge!!

(by the way I’m trying to start my own graphic design business http://www.tulip-inc.com)

Anyway, that was when I was 15 and now I’m 32… My how time flys. It’s great to see you guys getting back together!!! It brings me (and I’m sure many other fans) right back to a really happy time… so… thank you…

    Lots of Love Always :)
    -Elizabeth in New Jersey

  325. starr464 Says:

I’m having flashbacks! Wish I could go to the show to hang out with the other giddy 30-somethings! Love the new song. So why is it that after all these years I can remember silly little details about you from your vital stats in magazines like Tiger Beat?! Let’s see, likes Frank Sinatra, fave snack: Oreos and Coke (which I’m sure was just what it happened to be at the time…) No wonder I can’t remember what I had for dinner yesterday! My mind is filled with things like this!

Sorry, first concert was The Jets, 1986. Anyone remember them? But I did camp out overnight in January - in the frozen north - to get some NKOTB tix. Oh yeah, I was there. And my parents said: “Do you think you’ll still like these guys in 20 years?” and I would answer with all the conviction that a 12 year old could manage: “Yes!!” Here I am 20 years later with a box of old t-shirts, buttons, and teen magazines tucked in my crawlspace much to my husband’s amusement, and a sentimental feeling for my first love, Joey Mac.

    Thanks for the memories!

  326. LadyLinas Says:

I play Summertime nonstop! I was first in line to get tickets to your St. Louis show! See you Nov 10 at 8 pm!

  328. tam62876 Says:

I am so glad to see that the group that I grew up in aw of is back together. You guys were great than and what I have heard so far of the new stuff I like. It is so hard to find music that is worth listening to. I can’t wait to see you guys come to Houston. What else can be said at this time, except the fans did not go away, you asked and we listened and we were all hangin tough. I never thought I would see the day that I would see the New Kids back together as Men. You guys rocked than and still rock.

  329. Nola875 Says:

I want to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to whoever decided to add the New Orleans show. After watching you on the Today Show, I jumped online to see where you would be performing and was very disappointed to discover that you would not be coming to Louisiana. I created a username, posted my second blog ever, and shamelessly begged to have a New Orleans show added to your tour.

Tonight I was thinking about how I was possibly going to get to Houston, Texas on a thursday night (the closest venue), when I decided to check the tour dates again and HALLELUJAH, there it was!!!! October 18 - New Orleans!!!!!

I was 14 and madly in love with you when I saw my first New Kids concert at the Palace in Detroit, MI. Right before your solo medley (which I was on pins and needles waiting for), you left the stage and concert because you were feeling sick. Needless to say I was devastated and cried my eyes out.

It is almost surreal to think that almost 20 years later, I will be seeing you in concert again, only this time I will be 33 and 8 months pregnant! Unfortunately, my best friend and best blockhead, still lives in Michigan, and since I just moved here, I really don’t have anyone to enjoy the show with. So it will just be me and my soon-to-be firstborn. Which is OK, in my condition, she wouldn’t be able to link arms with me and flip me over her back anymore like we did when we practiced our moves from the Hangin Tough video!

    Anyway, my excitement is palpable….
    I simply can’t wait!

    Muchos Smoochos,
    Alicia

  330. LaraP316 Says:

Joey Mac!!! I CANNOT wait to see you guys in concert! You guys were my most favorite boy band when I was growing up, and I am SO glad you guys are back together! I know you guys are going to make such an awesome CD! I am really looking forward to seeing you guys in Tampa this fall! ;)

  331. Aundreya Says:

For some reason it still says my comment is awaiting moderation. I don’t know why…

Of course once I got to Las Vegas, one of the girls I met up with informed me that four leaf clovers are supposed to be bad luck for Irish, but I didn’t know =)

great to hear again from you and all the guys

god bless you and everything you do…

hope to see you soon in Mexico or at least on Mexican TV!

  338. jordansgirlsback Says:

First of all - aaaaargh!!! I think its great that you guys have reunited. I have been wanting this reunion since, well for the last 14 years. I think your baby is such a little cutie. You guys have all aged really well. The New Kids On The Block concert that I went to in 1992 in Brisbane was my first and last concert. Nobody could ever live up to the expectations you guys left me with. Even though it was the only concert I ever went to, I thought it was the best. You guys really knew how to wow an audience back then and what I saw on the Today show, over the internet, because I slept through my alarm clock, naughty me, still know how to wow an audience. Hope to see you back in Australia some time soon. Remember AUSTRALIA IS READY!!!!
    Love
    Kim
P.S. My email address is krees1@optusnet.com.au

  339. Stacey Says:

Joey, still as handsome as ever. Never thought I’d be 30 years of age now and so excited that a reunion finally happened. You HAVE to make plans to come to Australia as part of the tour - we always get left out!

  340. pd522 Says:

You guys were my first concert too, and I had to have my older sister to supervise me to both NKOTB concerts I went to in 1990! lol Little did the parents know that the sister was a Jordan lover. They were worried about my absolute Joey fixation. Ha

  341. laura34 Says:

Ok…I am truly an obsessed over the top fan. I have been watching you guys since I was 16 years old. I am now 35. This is a dream come true. I love you guys so much. As a kid I was not able to see you as much as I wanted to. I went to my fair of shows, but this time around I was able to get 5 star vip passes to the Tampa show. It is a dream come true. I love you guys and can’t wait to meet you at last. You guys were so cute as boys but now as men you are all even hotter. I hope to hear from you batcat2006@gmail.com

  342. theaterelf Says:

It’s too funny…I just bought my tickets last night for the 11/2 show in Tampa, FL, and I was thinking “last time I did this, I had to call/stand in line for hours to get tickets, and now I just go online”..and then I thought, the last time I saw NKOTB, I was 13 or 14, and now I’m 30, with a husband and a son…and yet, I am still so giddy at seeing you guys perform again! My husband came home, and I asked if he wanted to go with me to the concert…his reply? “Um, I don’t think I want to watch you scream and go crazy over some other guys!” My best friend is seeing you all perform in Georgia, and she told me that she will be 34 weeks pregnant the day of the concert with her and her husband’s 2nd child, and she’s still going to jump up and down….this just proves that good music and great talent never dies or fades away. Thank you!!

  343. candacerf Says:

Joey: I would like to hear you sing; sing; “The Way You Look Tonight”.

  344. pixiechild Says:

I remember when I was in grade 1 and tried out for the talent show for the first time. I loved dancing, I still do. The talent shows always consisted of grade 4’s and 5’s and I didn’t stand a chance. The music teacher always decided who got to be in it. Even though everyone said…don’t bother I tried out, I’ll never forget that. I danced to Step by Step…and she loved it…and put me in. I was the first grade one student in a long time to get a slot at that school in a talent show and they talked about it for years. I even got the music award in grade 5 for being so involved since I started there. I’m 20 years old now and I still know most of the moves. I was and still am very obsessed and when I heard your song summertime on the radio I freaked out. I could never afford tickets to your concerts when I was little but now that I can I’m hoping by my pay day on Friday the newest toronto date isn’t sold out.
You guys have inspired so many people. You’ve inspired me, I still dance and perform and always will. And I am so thankful you guys are back on the scene. I was really getting sick of some of the music out there now.

    Love you guys always,
    Dani

Your still georgous Joe! loved your blog. I am so excited that you guys have got back together and like a lot of people, New Kids were my first concert too. Please Please tell me your gonna come back to tour in the UK? You have all matured very nicely I must say, very cute back in the day but very handsome now.

Ready & Waiting to see you all soon (I hope)

I am very happy that New Kids on the Block are getting back together. I am a 32 year old teacher and I found myself getting giddy when I heard you were getting back together. My friends Stacey, Dawn, and I used to go down to the bandshelter at the local park and pretend to be New Kids in concert. We each had a member that we pretended to be (although obviously there were two left out). We watched videos and matched the dances (tried to anyway) and thought we had it down pat. We continue to be friends to this day even though we don’t all live in the same town. When we found out that you were going to be coming to Chicago, we knew we had to get tickets. It would be like reliving our childhood. Anyway, it was my job to get the tickets and ran into the Ticketmaster nightmare. Needless to say, after seven hours on a Saturday morning of trying, I came up emptyhanded. I was so depressed all day and then when my friends found out I could not get the tickets they were also depressed. I have NEVER written an email or a letter asking anyone for anything, but I thought I would rectify the situation and see if you could help me get three tickets for your concert in Chicago in October. It would mean so much to three thirtyish year old fans who want to have their childhood back (at least for one night). Thanks.

  351. djclinton Says:

You weren’t my first concert, although you guys were my second and fourth concerts! But, come November you will be the first concert for my two kids!! We’ll see you in Denver! Can’t wait!

No other boyband compares you you guys. New Kids on the Block forever!!!!!!!

By the way your new song rocks!!! Although nothing can compare to my favorite Didnt I Blow Your Mind !!! thats my favorite.

    signing off now

    love yas!

  353. trinabean1976 Says:

I just saw your new video on VH1 and I must say that I felt like I was taken back in time. A time when I had pictures of you guys all over my walls and fell asleep just to dream of meeting you. I am now 31 years old and it seems like just yesterday when I attended your concert in Detroit and felt my first butterflies in my stomach. I have to say that I am extremely excited that you guys are on tour again and I wish you all the luck in the world. I just wish that I could attend your concert in Milwaukee but unfortunately I suffer from panic disorder and I am extremely clausterphobic in big crowds ~ something that I have been working on for years! I guess this gives me a good reason to try a little harder. By the way ~ You still give me butterflies!!!

  354. JanineAJ9 Says:

It would be nice to say NKOTB was my first concert, but that would be a lie. Besides, the first time I heard about y’all, I was four years old. My sisters, both at least ten years older than me, were the teenagers when NKOTB were big in the late 80’s. That’s how I got into NKOTB music; my sisters were my influences. I suppose that’s why I love 80’s music so much!

I used to watch my sister’s videos of NKOTB; she had everything. I remember comic books, cartoons, books, music videos… they even recorded y’all on a music awards in the early 90’s. And, I know she had a Jordan Knight poster on her wall for a while! :)

After there was no more NKOTB, I bought a greatest hits CD. After that, I kept up with you and Jordan on solo careers. I never purchased a Jordan Knight CD (I wanted to, though), but I bought both CDs of yours; my favorite singles were “Stay the Same,” “I Love You Came Too Late,” and “I Cried.” Then I saw you on my then-favorite nighttime drama Boston Public. I would have liked you for a teacher; that would have been nice.

I love NKOTB, and I was excited to hear y’all were getting back together for a 20-year anniversary/reunion tour. I couldn’t believe it! My first favorite band EVER, and I’m old enough to purchase a ticket, drive to a concert, and go see y’all!! I’m crossing fingers on San Antonio. My only concert was in fourth grade to see Garth Brooks, so I’m really excited about NKOTB’s Concert!!!!

I first saw the “Summertime” music video last night while staying up late (I’m a college student, it’s what I do). I stopped everything and watched it. I melted in excitement and surprise. It was on DVR, so I rewinded it several times. I kept thinking, “Where was I when they were filming? I could have been an extra girl!”

Anyways, I want to say that I am excited for you guys. This is a dream for many supportive fans, older and new (and ME). Y’all are the new hit boyband! Congratulations!!

    Wholehearted Fan,

    Janine

PS: I have the same birthday as you, and you have the same birthyear as my sister. I am honored to share my birthday with one of my biggest idols. Thank you for your time and patience.

Obviously there is no possible way for you to read ALL of these blogs but it is just so amazing to see there are still “people” like me out there. As I have said in the past I was only 7 when my aunt introduced me to the “World of New Kids” and I haven’t left it since. I get lots of “opinions” from people about my awesome New Kids ring tones and all my cds I listen to while I work but all the while I know they just don’t understand! I am so excited for you all to come to the Broomfield Event Center in November that I have already started my count-down. I totally stayed home the day the tickets went on sale just to make sure I got my VIP ticket. I really hope it is true that I get to meet and greet you guys? I paid a lot of money so that I can die a happy women. My aunt and I actually did get to meet Jon many years ago but to actually meet all of you will make everything perfect. Thank you all again for reuniting! After watching the VH1 special about the band reuniting and seeing you guys NOT…I thought for sure it would never happen! Thank you and again your families!

Friends would tease me because I had pictures of you, mostly all over my bedroom walls… I thought you were so cute and adorable, not that you aren’t anymore.(smile) I’m really glad that you guys have decided to get back together and much success to you all in the future. I can’t say the NKOTB was my first concert (although I did beg and plead my case to my parents) but I will say if you ever come to Indy I will certainly try my hardest to go. I always said I was deprived by not getting to see you all before, and I will not pass up the chance now that I am an adult. (my parents can’t stop me now!!) It certainly brings back the memories when I turn on the radio and hear NKOTB being played and every time I hear your single on the radio, it makes me smile. The RADIO!! NKOTB!! 2008!! Who would have ever guessed? I am anxiously awaiting the new music. The old (right) stuff was great. But I am ready for some modern NKOTB that I can blast. I hope you all stick around longer than just the reunion tour though. It will be a sad day when you fade from us again.

I have been a fan sense 1989 and always will be. You will never know just how much you and the guys have been there for me when I needed someone. even if it was just in a song. I really want to thank you for that.
I was lucky enough to meet you here in Florida in 1999 at the radio station XL106.7 you were on the Doc and Johnny morning show here in “Orlando”. ( No I do not think you would or should remember me, lol). Thank you for not letting me down. Joe, You were and are AWESOME!! Like I knew you would be.
Watching you perform at Red Hot and Boom that year and then the next, was the highlight of my year each time. We also came to see you when you performed at the Walmart Super center in Apopka I think it was. You rocked then too. =)
Anyway, I Can’t wait to see you in November, in Tampa. And the best part, is it’s the day before my B-day.. YAY!!

As a fan of yours and the rest of NKOTB “You were my first concert as well!”

I believe I was in 8th grade at the time (boy was that along time ago) :0) and my parents surprised me with ticket to your concert in Atlanta GA.

I had the time of my life and thought I was in Heaven for a bit, especially when I swear you told me your loved me from the stage!

(okay now that I am 33 and I look back, you probably didn’t say it directly to me but more in my direction, LOL but being young and in love I thought for sure you were saying it just to me!!)It made a great story at least.

I think I might be a bit old to hang your poster all over my bedroom wall as my husband Ted might start to question things, but it will be great to enjoy your music!

Please keep up the great work and continue to do what God has blessed you to do!

Maybe one of these days if you make it to Montana we can re-enact you saying you loved me from stage! :0) LOL LOL LOL

It is great to see you together again~

Yes, just like for every girl posting on that blog, you guys were my first concert when I was a teenager growing up in France. Do you remember Paris Bercy? I sure do :) Joe, you left shortly before the end of the concert to avoid the hords of crazy fans!!
And yes, I was 14 and the walls of my bedroom were covered with photos of all of you. I am eagerly waiting for your concert in Philly in November!

    Lots of love,

    Dear Joe Mac!!
I can finally say I am #50 of the MacPack!! This is ALL so incredible! I am so very happy for you, all of you! I remained a huge fan all these years, even introducing my daughter to NKOTB, who is now 11. She is VERY upset that I won’t take her to the Dallas show next month with my friends…but Momma plans on having a lil too much FUN, for her young eyes!!
I was 13 when I went to my first concert ever, ofcourse to see you guys!! I went to every concert after that in Dallas. And completely understood when it was time to move on and find ourselves.
But damn, Baby!!! Your Back!!!! And I believe it’s better than before!! Your fanbase never doubted this moment!
So Thank You!!! I love you! I am so jealous of Barrett, understandibly. We never had our chance to meet. I too am a Real Estate Agent and could’ve sold you a house!!!
I have a really funny story I would like to share with you 5, but not on here! It’s a little too much! Write me back and I will share!! You will know just how CRAZY your true fans really Are!!
    My mind is right!
    The time is right!
    I get this!
Can I please have some Face-Time???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Loving you Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Joey,

Just thought I would share a fun story with you. NKOTB was mine, my sister and my two cousins first concert at Alpine Valley, WI. I was 9! I wanted to be the little girl that got to go on stage during “Cover Girl”, kind of hard to do from the grass seats. Anyway, the cool part of the story is that my cousin Lori has not been to a concert since, keep in mind I am the baby of the 4 of us, so we are going to take her to the Bradley Center on the 22nd, nearly 18 years since her last concert!

I cheated and already went to Chicago, (8th row) the concert was amazing and I can’t wait to share the experience with my sisters for the second time!

    Have a great day!
    Heidi

P.S. I had your big button next to my bed as a kid, does that weird you out at all??
