I lost my job the day I intended to purchase my plane ticket…I live in Miami, FL.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! It’s so in tune (pardon the pun) with the reunion, comeback, and everything you guys stand for. You were, have been and will always be the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you all…I was supposed to go to the slumber party on the plaza…
I think that you guys don’t even realize how BIG this (your comeback) will be!!!! If you could see it from where I am…LOL.
Well, what am I saying, of course you realize it…and are enjoying it! Sit back and enjoy the ride guys, you deserve it! I am so glad to see that I was not “crazy” in sticking by NKOTB since 1987.

Congratulations - this song is FANTASTIC!! The wait has been definitely worth it.
This is SOOOO well-produced and your voices are blending the best they ever have. It is HOT HOT HOT!! If only I had a car to drive round with the top down cos it’d be the perfect song to do that with.
Looking forward to the rest of the album - if the rest is this good…woah!!!!

Awesome!! I’m listening to this track over & over!! You guys are showing your individual strengths and I think that’s what puts it over the top. Though, I have to admit that Donnie’s vocals are better than EVER!! And I’m like putty during his part.

That was an amazing thing that just happened to me it took me back to my teen years and it felt wonderful. They’re going to play Summertime in Bristol, VA! I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. I’m not completely disappointed, just surprised that the sound hasn’t changed. I’m relieved that it wasn’t a ballad, but I’d hoped for something more up tempo. This just sounds like too many other “summertime” style songs. The production is flawless, the harmony is good, the song isn’t bad, it just doesn’t sound like today.
I will say it’s growing on me. I blame it on the mania of feeling 14 again. Can’t wait to hear more. Welcome back.

Love - love - love it! I don’t know about the rest of you 30-somethings that crushed like I did back in the day, but the thought of a NKOTB concert makes me a little giddy. Me and all my girlfriends have made a pact that we will drive 5 hours in any direction from Nashville if you they can’t make it to the Sommet Center. All of our husbands have made a pact to rent a hotel room that weekend, they won’t be able to stand us! They just don’t understand…..

Glad you guys decided to reunite! From the sound of “Summertime”….you definitely made the right decision! I love this song and can’t wait to hear the album. I’m one of the “older fans”…I’m 36(37 next week..yikes!). I’m looking forward to the tour this fall…I may just go to all your Texas shows!! (I couldn’t do that 20 years ago!)

Ok, I need to be honest….(I’m sure to face wrath of fans and likely the band lol) the songs are good, decent mixes, but as an older fan (granted, not a hyper one, never was….) the same age as the older guys in the band, I sort of expected more. I don’t know….more older lyrics, about relationship stuff I’d expect you all to have come through after this many years, like myself…maybe something about the love of your children…? Sorry to be picky…I mean I recall songs like If you go away and such that made me think….smile…cry….I want to hear more than “your wet body girl” stuff……:(

Guys I really love this song. Some people were wondering why “Click Click Click” was not released first. My guess was that “Summertime” relates to a broader audience of pop and R&B so it makes sense. Anyway I just can’t stop listening to it and I anticipate the next singles, album, tour! Love you, can’t wait to see you in CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I adore “Summertime”! It manages to sound at once like a classic NKOTB song and entirely ‘now’. It’s almost as if you guys never went away! Almost.
The last 14 or so years have been… missing something without you guys on the scene.
Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album even more than before, now, and seeing where else this long-awaited and wished for reunion will take you all! I was only about 8, 9 when I first became a “blockhead” and I was never able to make it to a concert… I’m 27 now and I will be doing everything in my power to see you this time around! And I’m crossing my fingers this is much more than just a ‘final farewell’ tour!! Please tell us you’re planning to be around again for a good long time!

I love, love, love this song! I don’t know if you guys realize what you are doing to all of us thirtysomething women across the country who have husbands and kids and careers, yet suddenly feel we’re teenagers again! I know me and my friends truly never thought we would see the day when all of you would be back together again, and it is like a dream come true. Back then, it wasn’t just about being a fan of the New Kids, it was total lifestyle. To have all those old feelings stirred up again is exhilarating! My “NKOTB days” are some of the best memories of my life!

I am sure I’m not alone when I say that I am losing my mind over this reunion! I love the new song. I get goose bumps listening to NKOTB. I grew up on their music. I still rock the Greatest Hits in my car. I just wish they’d come to Cleveland. New Kids On The Block was my 1st concert, and I’d love for them to be my latest!

Ok, first, know that I’m a HUGE fan. But I love you guys enough to tell you when you aren’t bringin’ it like I know you can. Summertime is cute, but it reminds me of that LFO song that goes ‘Shooby doo-wop and Scooby snacks, I met a fly girl and I can’t relax!’ It’s too cheese-ball, and generated for a younger audience. The beat is great, the lyrics? Too young for you. Most of you have kids now, and I know they didn’t get delivered by the stork, so it’s ok to sing about sex now guys… your fans know all about it now.
While you’re voices sound great, and It’s great to hear you all together again, and of course I’m looking forward to the concert… I hope your album is going to hit harder than this. I heard Click, Click, Click. THAT is more of what I expected. Older, sexy, smooth, good beat. I still think that Face The Music is one of the best albums you guys ever did, and some of the songs on there would still be very playable today. I was hoping your new stuff would continue on that vibe, and reflect who you are today, as 5 successful men.
Your fans will always love you, no matter what you do, good or bad. Hell, we would pay to watch you read newspapers and scratch your nuts, but still. I know this comeback is more than just a treat for those of us who never outgrew you. I know that you want to be able to put a final chapter on the New Kids book, where you can all walk away from this experience with your heads held high.
Granted, there will always be the haters, and no matter how good the song is, because it came from New Kids on The Block, you aren’t going to get the shake you deserve. But I do think you have the chance here to really go above and beyond what the general public expects from you.
Summertime isn’t going to do it guys. I like the song, its cute. But I know you can do better! I wish you had released Click, Click, Click first. It’s a hot song!
That being said, I really can’t wait for the album. Hurry the eff up and get it out there! We’ve only been waiting 15 years!

Wow! I lOVE THIS SONG!!!!! This is gonna be the come back of the century! I totally disagree with the last reply….the song is a hit! I have been a huge fan since I was 12 years old, I am now 31 and have matured and it sounds like you all have done the same. I am still in total shock that NKOTB is back!!! If the rest of your album is anything like Summertime it’s gonna go off the charts! I am so excited to see you all in concert in Chicago in october. I REALLY love this song, it makes me happy (and my husband crazy, because he has to put up with it ALL the time ;)). I am soooo happy that you’re back together, I’m going through a bit of a rough time right now and you guys are my perfect distraction, your comeback couldn’t have come at a better time! I feel really stupid, but you just got me crying when listening to Summertime.
I obviously got the sub message to the fans straight away, but it suddenly hit me badly when listening to the song for the 20th times at least in two days:

I personnaly always thought you would eventually get back together. Last November I got a hint when surfing the net; someone who had actually met you at the time said you were recording altogether, and since then I’ve been waiting impatiently for the reunion announcement. My partner thinks I’ve gone completely coocoo with you, but nevermind! I’ve been a fan since FTM, and never stopped loving you since then; nostalgia has nothing to do with me being exited by the reunion. That’s just pure loyalty that brought me back to you. I don’t feel like I’m thirteen again. I feel like a grown up who’s been loyal over the years, that’s all. And luckily, my loyalty has paid off
By the way: When are you coming to Europe? You HAVE to come to the UK and FRANCE, please!!! (please, please, please!!!!!!). I’ve never seen you in concert and it would be a dream come true if you could come here. I can see you’re focusing on the US right now, but you’ve got fans ALL OVER THE WORLD, REMEMBER!!!

I kinda agree with what FLH1976 said above about Summertime, but I understand the marketing strategy behind it and I think you were right to choose that song as the first release. I guess you’re not gonna win over the critics with this one, and from that point of view I was expecting Click, click, click to be your first single. But Summertime is probably a more strategic choice for a successful come back: it’s a cute song which is gonna please your fan base and get you some new fans as well, and at this stage it’s the most important.
Oh, is there gonna be a music video for that song??

Guys this song is awesome! Not only did you have me as a HUGE diehard fan when I was about 11, but you now have me again with your new stuff at 31. Keep it up! Just to let you know, my hubby makes fun of me for being your fan but I tell him “bring it on”… Sticks and stones baby lol but it’s all in good fun. My kids are even backin me up. My 6 year old son likes Hangin Tough; plays it all the time LOL..

I’m going to tell you a quick story about a disappointed little girl in Winnipeg. November 1990.
New Kids On the Block came to Winnipeg that month.
Dad couldn’t afford to bring me to the concert.
He let me stay up to watch the news at 11:30 with the concert review on it.
Have held it against my dad for 18 years that I never got to go to that concert.
Many other bands have cashed in on the fact that I never got to see you guys, cause after that trauma I made sure I saw every other band I always wanted to see.
Now you guys are touring again. And I feel like I will seriously die if I miss the opportunity this time.
PLEASE come somewhere close to mid western Canada (Fargo, Minneapolis or Calgary)so I can at least drive to the show, unless for some reason you decide you wanna come to Winnipeg. (We have a brand new arena).
Good thing the tour doesn’t start until the fall though, I’m still in Korea teaching and working with orphans until then.

“Summertime” is a great song. For all of the people who living under a rock this song takes us all to the very beginning. The first time I heard a sneak peek of the song was at the “Today” show. It was hard cause everyone was screaming!
I think it’s a great song because it’s for the fans and about us fans. It’s about reminiscing the old days when NKOTB songs were the background music to many of our teen expereinces This is a perfect song to pick up from where we all left off and continue it 14 years later with the comeback. Thank you for taking us back to great memories. I can truly say that up to this day you guys haven’t disapointed me with your music. Thank you. See you boys in Chicago. By the way, the tickets for the show got sold out!
