The boy band that started it all 19 years ago are officially back. The NKOTB appeared on teh today show on friday april 4th 2008 announceing to the public that they are recording a new album and are back toegther. Their first live performance in over 19 years will be on the today show on May 16th. Here is the interview they had on the today show.

Well I just hope they don’t forget about the West Coast most importantly Southern California. I am not kidding I just found out yesterday. I swear not even three days ago I was thinking man I really wish they would come back and what I wouldn’t give to see them in concert again. Well to my surprise I got my wish. I hope no body minds I have kinda a sad story to tell. When I was 10 and my birthday is in January all I wanted was a ticket to go see them is concert. They were going to be performing at the Tacoma Dome Feb 15. So anyways well I did get the ticket for my birthday and I went. See my dad stood in line for hours to get that ticket for me. My dad died 7/6/02 and that my dad did that for me meant so much to me. I guess its just one of the many memories of my father but for some reason this one always makes me cry. I think its because the love I have always had for the The New Kids and love the love I have for my dad the perfert combo I guess. Man I would love to go to Boston for the first time in my life to see the New Kids and one of my favorite base ball team the Boston Red sox that would be a dream…..

Wow I am so surprised about this reunion. I have to rant a moment. When I was a kid I supposedly won tickets to a New Kids concert and my parents didn’t believe it so I didn’t go. I feel like the New Kids were a part of my childhood that kept me going through a difficult time in my life. At the time the group was big my parents were going through a divorce and the New Kids music was all I had to look forward to. Even today, my parents were both calling and saying “Your group is back together” you better go to the concert. So… I don’t care how many hours I have to drive from North Carolina I will be attending your concert. I wouldn’t miss it for anything. Thank you guys for keeping me sane as a child and making great music. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for your fans with your new album. Lots of love & support-

i have waited for this day since 1994 and honestly thought i would never be telling people that new kids on the block were back. i was one of the only people in my school that liked them. people thought i was mad but i didnt care. ive still got all the posters, t shirts, slippers ( although they wont fit now lol ) ive gone on to have three kids since then. amazingly i met another new kids fan at the local baby group only a few months ago. it was great re living old memories about them to someone who actually cared !!! now i wont have to go to the concerts on my own !!!
anyway please please please come back to the uk and do a concert in wembley arena or the 02 arena. im not sure if ill be able to convince the hubby to pay for me to fly to america !!!

Even though I’m New York City and now living in Chicago, I wouldn’t be able to go to the May 16 performance. I do hope you’ll make it here to Chicago where I live. That would be perfect for me. I hope when you do come here the concert date would be on a weekend since it’s hard for me to do anything during the work week.
I’m so glad that all of you have reunited. I told my mom about it and she still kept all of my NKOTB memorabilia which is still back home in NY. I’m sure all of my old friends who are still living in NY(maybe not?) are happy to know about an upcoming reunion tour. OH, I’M SO HAPPY! The last time I went to a NKOTB concert was back in November 1990 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island and the date of the concert from what I remember it was 2 days before Thanksgiving. At that time I was a freshman in high school and my step-mother bought my ticket to the concert and I went with a friend and her uncle drove us to the concert. What memories!
Now that I’m 32 years old I can afford to go to a concert and possibly get front row tickets. I moved to Chicago from New York because I had many bad experiences looking for jobs and decided to move out of state. New York will always be my home where I was born and raised. If there are any NKOTB concert dates that fall on weekend here in Chicago or NY then I may go to both cities to see the concert.
I know Jordan, Danny and Joe use MYSPACE. Unfortunatley, I don’t have profile on that web site anymore because I’ve experienced to many problems wehn I use to have a profile. I wish you would create a Yahoo 360 or Windows Live Spaces page for some of us who don’t like MYSPACE. Everytime, I go on Jordan’s or Danny’s web page it just freezes up. My profile name on Yahoo 360 and Windows Live Spaces is New York Girl if you’re ever decide to create a profile.

I remember to this day the concert I got to go to in Boise, Idaho in 1991. It was 2 weeks after my 16th birthday and it was the best thing ever. Please come to Spokane, Washington because that is the closest to where I live now. I am so glad you guys are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Block Heads forever.

I just listened to Click Click Click, I’m not the best at computers so it took time for me to find it on here. I love it!! It’s so smooth and modern, but still NKOTB. So pretty yet you feel like doing a smooth groove to it. I don’t see how anyone could mess with you with such a hot hit on your hands. Good luck when it comes out, I know Im buying the album!! And going to the concert when I can get my hands on some tickets.
