Remember Betty has been chosen to be part of Susan G. Komen For The Cure's new National Team program. It acknowledges Remember Betty as one of the most dedicated groups in the continued fight against breast cancer. Blockheads have raised over $780,000 for breast cancer research and prevention since the beginning of the NKOTB reunion.

"The Remember Betty phenomenon is so special to us because it is an unprecedented show of support for Komen from a very special group of people. Never has a celebrity been so personally involved and dedicated to our cause, or inspired so many people to get involved. What Danny has done in memory of his mother has undoubtedly helped us save countless lives, whether it's through the funds raised or by serving as a reminder to fans to live healthy and get screened," Carrie Glasscock, Director of Corporate Relations for Susan G. When we were planning out 2012 and realized we would not be going on a North American Tour, we started looking for just the right event to add to our schedule instead. Then, the stars aligned. We were approached with the idea to be involved in a one-of-a-kind pop music festival that was shaping up in Hersheypark, PA. THIS was the event we had been searching for!

The April 29th live O2 show featuring two of the biggest pop bands of the last 20 years, New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys, is set to make history with a cinema cast live to cinemas across Europe.

The groundbreaking show will see a Pan-European satellite feed via a high definition live cinema cast, direct from the O2 Arena to fans watching the show in over 300 cinemas in the UK and Ireland, Germany, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Catching up with Joe Mac!

Well, folks, I have literally had my hands full- hence the 5 tweets in 2 months.

How dare I abandon the social network like that! Thank God I dont measure my loveof life and involvement in my career by how many tweets I execute. I did for a brief spell back a couple years, but one of the many blessings of having 3 very little kids is it keeps my priorities straight.

Im as creative as I ever was and have been working on several project- most outside the music world but all firmly with in the how can I touch you? world.

I think even those who know me may be a little surprised.

In the meantime, Ive waded back into the water of acting. And so far the waters fine. I havent gone very deep and its only been a few dips in the last 6 months or so, but all good stuff. Which makes me wanna take a serious plunge! (That was 5 water puns if youre counting).

CSI:NY was fun shooting. Kind of odd telling people I am on a TV show and not seeing it before hand. But I think Ill work again. I dont think theyll run me out of town for this one. I hope!

Then in November my guest spot on airs. Good times.

And then in December I am part of one serious cast of actors in the movie New Years Eve. I was lucky enough to work with Garry Marshall again and I will tell you what everyone in Hollywood (and everywhere else) knows: there is not a kinder man than he. So fun to work with him and the cast. Im afraid to give my part away and tell you who out of the amazing cast I worked with, so youll just have to go to the theatre and see for yourself. J

But meanwhile back at the homestead, my long days have been filled with one 3 and a half year old testing his limits and mine. One little bruiser who will be 2 in a couple months and is as determined as anyone I ever met to get into whatever he has his eyes onoh, and dont help him with ANYTHING. He wants to do it all HIMSELF. FYI- his hearing is so good. He understands everything and he is talking more and more and on par with your average 2 year old. Good stuffseems like forever ago when we didnt know what his path would be, but his hearing loss (although something we work on and monitor) is almost forgettable during the day. No small miracle, thanks to God, to todays technology, some really wonderful people in the field of hearing loss and one amazing mother who has not and will never miss a beat.

I dived into full time dad when we got home from tour at the beginning of August and by the end of the month I could not shut up about how tired I was.

Thankfully I got tired of being tired and have now settled in to the fact that it takes a lot of energy to do what we are doing now and I just have to keep it as simple as possible for a fewyears??? Haha! Who knows? But we do manage to have a lot of fun.

And finally, my little girl. As my mother said about a picture she has of Kira by her bedside, it looks like shes smiling into tomorrow. And let me tell you, it feels that way, when she smiles at me. Im biased, but boy is she pretty. She has been such a chill baby. Sleeps good. Sooo sweet. Just plump enough. I kind of chomp on her cheeks constantly. I cant wait for her to start bossing her big brothers around. Soon enough.

Fair to say, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth. Being a dad is incredibly fulfilling and thoroughly challenging. And I so cherish the thought of watching these kids grow up for the next 100 years.

Like many I know and hear about, I feel that my family is my foundation and now that I have that bedrock I can begin. I look at life differently. I am feeling now like I am just now becoming the person I want to be- my true self. It might look from the outside like the same old Joe, but I am experiencing an awareness that I havent before and thats an awesome feeling. Sounds heavy but its subtle.

I look forward to revealing all the projects Im working on. Especially one that is literally right round the corner. Stay tuned! Oxox Love ya.

A Fenway Winners tale!

It's still hard to believe I won.... If I didn't have pictures to prove I was there I'd think it was all a dream....

But it WAS real, I WAS there! It was a whirlwind of a weekend that was a crazy and nonstop adventure. I kept waiting for a "rejection" to happen but it didn't! There and back without any major glitches!!!
I first had to tell both my jobs that I would NOT be in that weekend! I got the same reaction each time "You what?!....To where!?...How'd you win that?!" No one believes all I did was "click" a button! Both jobs were very accommodating thankfully! Next I had to find a sitter for my "kids" (2 Chihuahuas) and get groceries to my grandparents that they needed. You see, I help them out a lot because my grandfather is bedridden and my grandmother can't drive. So I go down there weekly to take them groceries and run errands and things like that. Also to visit as they are my mothers parents and we lost her in August to cancer. To say this last 9 months has been rough is an understatement.

The flyaway itinerary was very easily put together by ground(ctrl): airfare, hotel and ticket pickup. Flight out of Midway at 7:40 am into Boston Logan at 10:50 am. After collecting our luggage and a short airport shuttle ride we took the T (LOVE IT!!!) then walked a short walk to what would be "Home" for the night! Hotel was great - very spacious room with sitting area and desk. We also found out it had a shuttle that would drive you to a nearby T stop! VERY helpful!!! After getting situated and changing out of our "travel clothes" we headed to Fenway Park to pick up the tickets. When I say this was a dream come true, I truly mean it. There are few things I want to do before leaving this Earth (losing your mom makes you think of these things sadly). But I can HONESTLY say 2 of mine were crossed off with this trip. #1 Sit front row at a New Kids Concert #2 Visit Fenway Park. I believe with ALL my heart that my mom had something to do with me winning this trip. She knew how much NKOTB meant to me. She used to go with me when I was young to all the concerts. And though she couldn't go because she was going through her first bone marrow transplant for cancer, she was so excited when the reunion happened!!! She always wanted EVERY DETAIL from the concerts I went to - she was a "Danny Girl" :) Sadly she never got to go herself because by the time her immune system recovered from the first transplant the cancer had returned and she had to start another transplant, complications resulting from it took her life.

After a short T ride to Fenway we walked in a circle looking for the street that the gate we needed to be at was on. When we finally found the gate no one was at will call and I became worried. Is this where my "luck" would end? It took us a little while but we found a ground(ctrl) person (Eddie I believe) and I was able to get my tickets!!! Section A5 Row 1 seats 11-12. With tickets in our hot little hands we wandered around Fenway checking everything out, taking pictures, getting NKOTBSB Fenway t-shirts and a pair of Red Sox lounge pants (which I would put on later - over my shorts). When it was nearing time to go in, we lined up with everyone else and waited. This was it...the moment I'd waited for...the moment I'd entered the contest for....front row seats at Fenway Park. When they finally let people in we grabbed a quick bite to eat then headed for our seats.The moment I walked out onto the turf...I felt a chill. Not just from excitement for the show or the temperature but for the history there. By no means do I know anything about baseball, but I do know history when I'm around it. And that baseball park is historic. From the beautiful red brick to the big green monstah....it was all amazing. I took quite a few pics, especially from the turf seats looking towards the stands. The first thing I thought was "This is the view a MLB outfielder has during a game..." Though the seats weren't yet full the impact was the same....overwhelming. After stopping to talk to a few people we finally made it to our seats. Section A5 Row 1 Seats 11-12.....I don't think I'll EVER forget that! The energy in there was electric!!! And it built as the show went on. From the adorable theater group that Joe emotionally introduced as the group he was in with his older sister when they were little to Jordin Sparks great performance to the Naughty By Nature cameo. But everyone was there for one reason and one reason only....NKOTBSB! When the mayor came out and declared it NKOTBSB day in Boston the crowd cheered....but nothing prepared me for Mark Wahlberg, in the flesh, introducing what I knew would be the best show ever!!!! When the announcer called up the guys like the lineup for a real game, the stands (which were MUCH fuller now) erupted!!!!! I'm sure you've all seen the You Tube videos by now so I'll keep the show details to a minimum. Just know, that "hairs on your arms standing up, butterflies in your stomach" feeling you get watching the videos? It was more powerful being there. Both groups gave 110% that night and when the rain started gave 110% more! I think the rain made it better because how else would the guys be able to splash the fans or turn the ramp into a slip'n slide? Where else would stripper Jordan show up swinging his wet shirt and Jon and Danny have slip'n slide "races"? No where but Fenway in the rain baby!!!! And to have had front row seats to all those antics was truly amazing. When the show ended we made our way out with the crowd and caught a cab to our hotel (with the other Contest winner Tara B and her guest). I was still overwhelmed, exhausted from lack of sleep (due to excitement from winning) and soaking wet from the monsoon during the concert. I just wanted to put on dry pajamas and go to sleep....dreaming about the amazing time I had. Which is just what I did LOL I passed out the minute my head hit the pillow!!!

The next day was uneventful thankfully because I woke up with a major NKOTB Hangover....you all know what I'm talking about! So after a delicious "brunch" from the hotel buffet we got ready to head back to the airport for our flight home - 3:00pm out of Logan into Midway 4:50pm. We took the hotel shuttle to the nearest T stop then took the T to the Airport. Our flight was delayed a bit but that was ok - after the crazy weekend I wanted time to just sit down and soak in everything that had happened! Once we finally boarded the plane we both slept most of the flight home, at least I know I did! And once in Chicago, exiting the plane was one of the saddest moments of the weekend because we knew the adventure was over and it was back to reality. But I have my memories (and pictures!) to relive it anytime I want!

You have no idea how thankful I am, to NKOTB, to Block Nation, to ground(ctrl) for having this contest.

And also, thanks mom, I love you and miss you every day!

It's official ... Twitter saves lives -- in fact, Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block was able to help find a NEW KIDNEY for an extremely sick fan ... using nothing but the social networking site.

It all started with a tweet from the fan's best friend who was trying to raise awareness about the girl's dire situation -- one of her kidneys was failing ... fast.

Donnie retweeted the link to his 183,000 followers, asking for help ... prompting a barrage of phone calls to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where the girl -- named Bobbette Miller -- was being treated.

According to the Boston Herald, the calls yielded SIX matches -- and Bobbette is now scheduled for a transplant in June.

Ah, the power of 140 characters or less.

Alongside the fan-selected Top 5 New Kids On The Block songs and Top 5 Backstreet Boys tracks, NKOTBSB will premiere the first newly recorded songs from the combined superboyband including "All In My Head" and the sizzling first single "Don't Turn Out The Lights (D.T.O.T.L.)" featuring lead vocals from all of the members of NKOTBSB. NEW YORK The New Kids on the Block are at it again. After selling out a special show at Radio City Music Hall in just minutes, the Kids announce a second Radio City Music Hall show, and add on a string of dates across the country.

NKOTB promises to give fans another exciting year with the announcement of these special shows being just the beginning. NKOTB will release Coming Home, a special live DVD, on February 2, 2010 which gives fans a true glimpse at what it took to achieve one of the most successful and momentous musical reunions in history. After storming onto the Pop Culture scene again in 2008, the group has continued to entertain and excite, and promises more huge announcements to come.

The tickets went on sale and were sold out within minutes making it the fastest cruise charter sell out of all time. The Boston boys then announced a special hometown House of Blues appearance supporting Toys for Tots. This too sold out within minutes and raised over $60,000 for Toys for Tots. The NKOTB phenomenon continues to remain strong.

The band has also teamed with I Love All Access to provide a variety of fan ticket packages for the show, including premium seats, meet and greets, photo ops, parties and more.

EVENT RAISED OVER $60K AND 5 TRUCKLOADS OF BRAND NEW TOYS FOR THE CHARITY

NEW YORK New Kids on the Block brought the holiday cheer to a sold out crowd at Bostons House of Blues during a special holiday show this past weekend to benefit great Bostons Toys for Tots. The Boston boys sold out their show within minutes, and with all net proceeds from the event going directly to Toys for Tots, the group raised over 60k instantly. In addition to the monetary donations that poured in, fans filled FIVE plus truckloads of brand new toys to support the charity.

ve said it before, but we can never say it enough, we have the most amazing fans in the world. It is their generosity and dedication that made this all possible, said Donnie Wahlberg. Thanks to them, we are able to do what we do and help to give back. 5 truckloads of brand new toys went to Toys for Tots last night!!! The trucks were brimming! It was truly the most incredible sight.

Santa who? The New Kids bring more toys than that guy! exclaimed Sergeant Clint T Schibner of Greater Boston Toys for Tots. Going on, the Sergeant said, We are absolutely amazed at the sincerity and generosity the New Kids have not only shown Toys for Tots, but more importantly the less fortunate children of the Boston areatheir hometown! Marines pride themselves on taking care of their own. The New Kids can take pride in knowing their contribution, as well as their fans contributions, will affect the lives of tens of thousands of children in the communities where they grew up, thus, taking care of their own.

Promising a fun night full of surprises, the group did not disappoint. NKOTB showed some fan appreciation performing hit after hit including classic NKOTB holiday songs that havent been performed live in over 15 years! The New Kids pulled out all the stops even bringing local legends Johnny Gill and Ricky Bell from New Edition on stage to sing their joint song Full Service from New Kids recent album, The Block. The Boston boys even debuted their brand new song, Coming Home which fans received as a free download when the pre-ordered the bands upcoming DVD of the same name. Adding more local flavor, NKOTB invited local businessman Ernie Boch to open and even play with them on select songs with his band Ernie and the Automatics. With non-stop action and surprise after surprise, lucky NKOTB fans were certainly treated to a one of a kind evening.
